Oh my God, I LEFT THE STOVE ON AT HOME!

Tsubaki must have taken a wrong turn. She had been planning on going to the ruins, the sword she'd stolen a while back stashed in a duffel bag. Tsubaki grumbled and rubbed her forehead. "Just need to retrace my steps." she muttered, turning around. She took three steps and let out a muffled scream when a hand covered her mouth. "There you are, you little brat." snarled Tsubaki's abusive mother Amaya Matsuo. The ugly woman shoved Tsubaki down to the ground with brutal force. "You ungrateful little monster, I should have beaten you to a pulp before you became one of those damn demons!" Tsubaki growled, her heart hammering in her chest, driven by anger and fear. "Don't you dare touch me!" screamed Tsubaki. Her mask began forming over her face, only to be shattered as Amaya picked up a plank of wood and smack it against Tsubaki's face. Blood spurted from Tsubaki's now-broken nose. Tsubaki screamed in pain, and cried out again when Amaya kicked her in the gut. "Nobody's gonna save you, brat." hissed Amaya, kicking her daughter again. "I never should have given birth to you, you're good for nothing." She went to kick Tsubaki again, only to be stopped when Tsubaki grabbed her ankle. "I'm stronger than you." said Tsubaki, her voice monotone. "I won't let you hurt me anymore." Amaya scowled. "What did you just say to me?!" Tsubaki pulled out her sword, pointing it at Amaya. "I won't let you hurt me anymore!" she yelled. |

She'd thought she'd seen the last of her old beat. But that was before she'd factored in just how often trouble befell the area that primarily concerned Persona users. It was inevitable, given the volatile situation and it being high traffic for all users. She was actually hoping to find out more about just what happened that night Kyo Charinko encountered a rather disgraceful member of Nagashima's Police department. Finding a dead streetlight was somewhat easy, finding the right one was proving more of a challenge. And that's when she encountered the altercation. There was an older woman beating a younger woman with…a mask. Damn, that had to take precedence for the moment or it could have ended very badly, She had her whistle, and she blew it, hoping to command attention as the uniformed officer approached. "Stop what you're doing, both of you!" |

Amaya Matsuo looked at Maki. "Oh, thank God you're here, officer. My daughter ran away and now she refuses to come back with me." "I ran away because you beat me!" screamed Tsubaki, not taking her eyes off her mother, not lowering her sword. |

"And so you attempt to beat her into compliance?" What she saw was hardly a concerned parent's heartfelt attempt to get a rebellious child to return home. She approached. "Step back, please." She spoke with an impartial authority. She suspected it was a Persona related attack? She'd heard more about those sorts of cases than she'd like, and there was no mistaking the mother called her a demon. She would have Amaya step back, and she would help Tsubaki up. "Now, what is this I hear about 'demons?' From what I've seen so far, if you're abusing her over hearsay and hysteria, it's only reasonable she'd refuse to return home with you." To just dismiss it as the result of angry people with overactive imaginations. That's what she did once anyways. To Tsubuaki, she asked. "Young Lady, please, tell me, what exactly happened here?" |

"I saw it! A horrible winged woman covered in blood and carrying a sword!" shouted Amaya, indignant. "She found me..." said Tsubaki, looking to Maki. "She tried to hurt me." She then refocused on her mother. The urge to punish her for the years of hell that Tsubaki had to endure was intense, a burning ache to finish her off. "You brat..." snarled Amaya. She reached out and shoved Tsubaki down to the ground, and Tsubaki's loathing was interrupted with sharp, brutal pain radiating throughout her hand. Her sword had fell down out of her hand and nicked her palm as it clattered to the asphalt. Edited by fearjunkie, Nov 26 2013, 04:18 PM.

"Do not put your hands on her again." She threatened as she pointed her truncheon directly at Amaya. Her attention was focused on the girl. She offered her free hand to help Tsubaki up and was ready to interpose against further violence as needed. "I see…more 'magic-people' Hysteria, then…" She clearly sounded as though the woman's accusations were unfounded, ridiculous even. "If that's the case…I would like both of you to make your statements, separately, at the local Koban." The situation had to deescalate, before the mother did something stupid or the daughter did something even more stupid- like openly using her Persona in that situation. Maki also hunched any woman so comfortable with abusing their child as she had clearly been had enough prior offenses to hold until a more satisfactory resolution was possible. |

"Like hell!" spat Amaya. "You're probably one of them!" Tsubaki said nothing as she clutched her bleeding palm, trying not to cry out in pain. |

"Ma'am, you're being paranoid." She responded flatly. The truth or not of her suspicions were largely irrelevant in the situation the three women found themselves in. She spoke again, her voice appropriate of the authority of her position. "Ma'am, are you confirming you'll resist then? You could easily be taken in and charged with assault for this, even child abuse. I'd suggest you come quietly and take a statement while the option is still on the table." |

"Shut the fuck up you damn monster!" hissed Amaya, glaring at Maki. She rounded, as if to make a break for it- -only for Tsubaki to grab Amaya by the ankle. "I won't let you...get off that e-easily..." hissed the girl. Edited by fearjunkie, Dec 21 2013, 02:24 PM.

"Stop, if you attempt to flee the only thing that will change is you'll also be charged with resisting arrest as well as assault." Maki approached with handcuffs ready. if Amaya ran, the officer had no doubt at all that she wouldn't have gotten far and the results would have been the same. "You're going to be taken in." She said as she approached. "And you are going to the hospital." She said to Tsubaki. As soon as Amaya was safely apprehended, she planned to radio in an ambulance.
