And so, the Shadow that had been sneaking around finally showed itself. It was a giant, purple-skinned and humanoid caricature of a historical dictator, Adolf Hitler. The Shadow was a Shadow Dictator. As it showed up, it looked at both Kakeru and Seiji before it held out its right hand, as if making the strange Nazi salute, and there was a strange voice shouting 'Heil' as it held out the salute.

And then, a Fanatic Aryan was summoned. Kakeru prepared his sword as he looked at the Shadows. "Well... as you know, Adolf Hitler is quite a public domain character," he said, smirking grimly as he adjusted his mask.

"Uh…huh."

Wh-what? Really? That's a giant Shadow Hitler?A nine foot tall, spindly purple skinned- Ah, you know what? He was over-thinking it. Rather than focus on what that meant, or wondering what his great grandparents probably would have thought of it, he did his job.

"The big one is called a Shadow Dictator, nullifies light and darkness, resists physical attacks. The other one was called a Fanatic Aryan and weak to physical, nulls electricity!"

The summoned Fanatic Aryan seemed far weaker, and it had a very accessible weakness. Seiji wasted little time in quickly moving forward and drawing out his sword, hoping to remove it's faceless head from its fascist body in one smooth slash.

"Alright," Kakeru nodded before he cast Mind Charge on himself. Meanwhile, the Fanatic Aryan cast Tetrakarn on itself, conjuring a barrier that could reflect a physical attack back on its attacker. Kakeru noticed the glint from the invisible barrier. "Don't attack the soldier. It has a barrier..." Kakeru told Seiji.

And then, the Shadow Dictator raised its hand again, and a bellowing voice that shouted 'Heil!' echoed in the air before another Fanatic Aryan showed up.

"Well, now they have two," Kakeru deadpanned. "Just attack it before it can conjure a barrier..." he told Seiji before he looked at the giant Hitler. "I'm going to deal with Mein Führer here..." he said, preparing himself to face against the Shadow Dictator.

Dammit! He was too late! he twisted the blade in his hands so instead of risking whatever it'd done exploding back in Seiji's face, the edge of his blade ended up awkwardly slicing though empty air before he managed to recover from the attack.

Rather than letting it have another repeat, he quickly brought his sword down on the fresh Fanatic Aryan in an overhead diagonal slash. "I can deal with the other one too, I just won't be able to use a sword."

Kuzuki argued with himself all the way to the Ruins, trying to convince himself that this was a good idea. He had already violated his mother's trust once, and been punished for it. This time, it would be harder to explain what he was doing. Neither Kyoko nor Mizuki had ever had to fight for their lives against hordes of horrors oozing from the floors and walls like something out of a child's nightmare: anything he would say to them would make him sound like a lunatic. He stared down at the sword in his hand, the heavy steel and scratchy cloth wrapped around the handle unfamiliar after almost a month of inactivity.

The moment he stepped into the ruins and breathed in the dank, moist smell of the mildewed walls, all his doubts vanished. He raised the sword and swung, all his old skill coming back in that one motion. When he slipped on the mask and Grani appeared in a flash of light, he knew for certain that he was as good as ever. As if to dispute this, two Shadows stepped in front of Kuzuki, slowly swaying as they kept their single eyes trained on the intruder. Grani stretched out his hand, and a lightning bolt crackled forth to strike one down. Before the ashes could drift to the floor, Kuzuki stepped forward and struck down the other, cleaving it in two.

No, I'm not as good as I was. I'm better.

Beyond the two lay a stairwell, the railings worn away with rust and disuse. Gingerly, Kuzuki climbed down, lightly landing on the next floor. A quick glance at both doorways to his side. No one was there.

Which was why when Kuzuki heard the sounds of battle, he charged through the left passage, following the clamor until he reached a rather wide corridor. Two people were facing off against the towering figure of what appeared to be Adolf Hitler and his Nazi bodyguards.

Have the Shadows grown stranger now, or is it just me? Shelving the thought, he summoned his mask and sent a Zio crackling at the Shadow Dictator. For a moment, lightning shot through the darkness, illuminating the room and its pitted and pocketed walls.

The one that was attacked by Seiji crumbled down due to its weakness against physical attack. It dropped dead and melted, but its rifle remained. The remaining Fanatic Aryan raised its rifle and released a Torrent Shot towards Seiji.

Meanwhile, Kakeru was about to deliver an attack onto the Shadow Dictator before a Zio suddenly hit it right on its face. But the Shadow seemed to shrug it off before it released a Ziodyne onto Kakeru. Electricity coursed through Kakeru's body as it hit him at point-blank range.

"Nrghh!" Kakeru grunted as he withstood the attack. Smoke coming out of his body due to the electricity, but he still remained standing. "Heh..." adjusting his mask, he looked at the Shadow Dictator with his glowing blue eyes.

Good, there was one down. But before he had time to celebrate, he was hit dead center by the other. He felt a rapid stream of painful, punctures as the Torrent Shot took it's toll.

Damn, that hurt! He stumbled on his feet, even. But he had to mention for the sake of the newcomer.

"The Shadow Dictator nullifies light and dark, resists physical." he pointed to the giant purple Hitler. "Don't use Zio on these ones, which it can summon." He pointed to the Aryan that just shot him. "They…nullify electricity, weak to physical, but they seem to have some sort of special defense they can put up, so careful with physical attacks too."

Ignoring the blood that a half dozen punctures could have caused, he clutched his chest and decided to finish off that Shadow then heal himself. His Persona fired a glowing orb at the Aryan, hopefully the Frei spell would have been enough.

As Kuzuki approached the two, the Hitler-shaped shadow and his minions opened fire. One staggered back, bleeding from half a dozen wounds, while the other uttered a cry as lightning went through him. With a gesture, Kuzuki sent Grani charging forward at the troopers before firing a Hama at the Dictator.

To his dismay, the blast dissipated before it could hit. Only then did the wounded young man raise his head and point out the weaknesses and resistances of the enemy. You could have mentioned that before, Kuzuki thought. Oh well, no time to cry over it. He approached the young man and held out his hand, channeling a Diarama through it and into the wounds.

"Kakeru!" he called out, turning away. "Over here!" Grani galloped to the three, presenting his side to the enemy.

"Heh..." Kakeru just shrugged as he looked at the Hitler-shaped Shadow before he readied his sword. Cold mist started to form around the blade as the Shadow Dictator held out its hand again after taking Seiji's Frei to summon another Fanatic Aryan. With that, another Fanatic Aryan showed up.

He cast Mind Charge on himself before he dodged a shot from the Fanatic Aryan.

Seiji in fact had said all that before, though that was just when it was he and Kakeru versus the Shadows.

He delayed the Dia a bit longer, to not allow the newly summoned Shadow a chance to put its defenses up, he swung its sword towards it in a diagonal, downwards stroke. Succeed or fail, afterwards, he used a healing spell on himself.
