Surprisingly, the first one to arrive near the entrance was Isoroku Mayoi. She wore her normal clothes that she usually used while going into the ruins, which enabled her to move freely instead of giving her crucial defense. She also brought her sword and her guns, like usual. Seeing that she was the first one to arrive, Isoroku waited near the entrance, leaning against the wall. So, while waiting, she tapped her foot against the ground. It would take a while before they could start their exploration into the uncharted part of the ruins. |

Rio rode her bicycle up the path to the ruins, standing up to get more force into the pedals. In a milk crate bungie-corded to the back was her school bag, a blanket, and a large umbrella. She pulled off the path a bit below the top, and leaned her bike against the stone wall, beginning to set up her "base camp." Kirihara had apparently thought that Rio was going down into that hell-hole, and that was a total "no" on her part. She was going to set up the Mojo Wire, hand off some walkie-talkies, and it up here with map-drawing software open on her computer with Bedlam queued up on her phone. "Hey there," she said to Isoroku as she spread out her blanket. "Ready for this?" |

Knife? Check. The not so good boots? Check. Persona mask? Auto-check. Beret? Kaede tapped the top of her head as she walked up the hill. Check. And like hell she'd let it get knocked off like it was last time. She raised a hand in greeting as she walked up the hill. It looked like Mayoi and Matsuhita were both here already. "Heya. Who all's coming? I know you guys, but I didn't recognize the other two names on the list. Been out of this shit too long, I think." Way too long if she couldn't recognize people based on Bedlam usernames anymore, apparently. |

"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"

"Time for introductions then, I think..." said a voice from a short distance behind Kaede. If she looked, she would find the source was a man, stepping onto the path Kaede had taken from one of the narrower, less neatly-made side-paths through the woods. His clothing was not as professional or fine as usual, and his silver-gray hair was tied in a ponytail--so at first glance he might not have been recognizable as Toru Motou to any who hadn't accompanied him in the ruins on a previous occasion (as Isoroku had). Toru drew to a halt some distance away from the gathering group, and opened his jacket--withdrawing from inside it a revolver, custom-crafted with etchings of roses on thorny vines. It was a fairly heft revolver, as revolvers went--probably a high caliber, if not the highest. "My name is Toru Motou, and... you have three guesses as to my screen name," the journalist said, opening the chamber to double-check that his weapon was in fact ready and loaded. Once he confirmed that all six bullets were in, he closed it, and slipped it back into his jacket. "It is good to finally meet you, Susaki-san... and good day to both of you as well, Mayoi-san, Matsuhita-san. Have the two of you been well?" |

"I'm not late, am I?" Hiroko came up out of the woods, naginata resting on his shoulder like a hobo's bindle. He looked around and noticed that, of all people, Kinzaki was the one absent. "...Considering Kirihara-san hasn't got here yet, I'll take that as a no. Seriously, you'd expect her to be the first one here, right?" He shrugged. All he could do now is wait. |

So the others, save Kinzaki herself, showed up. Isoroku bowed to them politely. "Let's do our best, everyone..." she said to everyone. This mission was said to be dangerous, so it would be best to tell them to do their best. Now, they would need to wait for Kinzaki to show up. "Oh my, I guess I'm the late one, huh?" Isoroku heard Kinzaki's voice before the heiress of Kirihara showed up, this time surprisingly wearing a plain clothes, which consisted of black long-sleeved shirt and pants. It seemed that she didn't wear her combat kimono this time and seemed to prefer wearing something practical for this occasion. "I apologize for my lack of punctuality," the heiress bowed her head to others, apologizing for her lateness. "I... uh, overslept, and I had to do some preparations for this expedition," she admitted. "So, is everyone here?" she asked. |

"I'm okay," Rio said, dismissively, in response to Toru's question. "Been eating my veggies and staying away from the brown acid. Hardly need the heavy stuff anymore." Rio planted the end of her umbrella in the ground by the blanket and set her bag down on top of it. She opened it up, and produced her laptop and five walkie-talkies. The laptop went on the blanket and she walked around the group, handing the small communication devices to everyone: there was a heavy-duty clip on the back of each that would allow it to be attached to clothing, and they all appeared to be tuned to the same frequency. As she handed each one off, she established the Mojo Wire -- her normal range shrank somewhat, and with everyone standing so close together there was a bit of a hall of mirrors effect on her consciousness -- but she could get an idea of how everyone was doing if they were separated, this way. "Believe so," she said to Kinzaki. "I have no combat training, so I'm going to set up base camp here. The Mojo Wire lets me scan from your positions, so I'll be providing intel: anything you run into, I'll let you know the weaknesses of, and I'll warn you if anything above your paygrade is getting too close. In the meantime, I'm going to work out a rough map, and I've got Bedlam called up on my phone -- if you need rescuing, it'll be on its way immediately." |

Kaede looked over her shoulder to see that an older man was walking up to the group, and she grimaced. Great. Lovely. Some creepy looking old guy with a gun and rose markings on it, like... "Oh, you're the guy who thought it would be funny to hit on a seventeen-year old in my coming back thread. So nice to finally meet," Kaede said. God, what a creeper. She waved to Kinzaki and Hiroko as they walked up. "Looks like the gang's all here. We ready to get going, then?" |

Toru tilted his head back at Kaede's mention of her return-thread, frowning slightly--it took a bit to recall. Then he did. "Ah, yes," he said, having the good grace to at least sound apologetic. "I apologize. Alcohol impairs my judgment rather strongly, although I assure you it was only meant in jest, for whatever small consolation that might be." Hiroko Tachibana and Kinzaki Kirihara strolled into view, and as they did, Toru's eyes slid across Kinzaki's face, only to hover for a moment on Hiroko's. According to what he knew, Tachibana had once stalked this very girl, who was reportedly afraid of men--though Toru knew very little about Kinzaki beyond her possibly being in a romantic relationship with Aleksandria, if that Love Report's information should just have happened upon accuracy... A reputed creeper and one who would bed a woman who had committed such crimes... a few days ago, he might not have thought much of it, but Toru could almost feel his Persona's tension, as though it were a snake defensively coiled, ready to snap out at the first sign of a false movement. That was more unsettling than the suspicions about their characters flickering across his consciousness. Besides which, Tachibana was Charinko's lover... there was a chance she had told him about Toru, so... "And hello to the two of you," he said, giving no indication of the static buzz of thought and counter-thought filling his skull. "Tachibana-san and Kirihara-san. I trust the two of you will have no problems working together...?" The journalist took his walkie-talkie from Rio. He felt a slight tingle as he did, and froze for a moment, tensing up, before he realized that it must simply have been Matsuhita's unique linking ability. Clipping the device onto his jacket, he turned toward the ruins. Since he was a ranged fighter at best, it would probably be better for him to be positioned in the rear or middle. But for the moment, he decided, he would wait and see if any of the others present preferred to take command. He was the oldest one present, and would have no qualms barking out orders if it seemed these teenagers couldn't handle it, but compared to the others gathered he still had far less experience exploring the ruins and combating Shadows; age wasn't everything. |

The issue Hiroko had once had with Kinzaki had been so long forgotten that Hiroko could only give Toru a confused stare until he figured out what exactly the reporter had meant. "Don't worry, it'll be fine." said Hiroko. Hiroko's eye twitched when he took his walkie-talkie. The Mojo Wire felt weird, like some strange appendage that he didn't quite understand or know how to use had suddenly sprouted from the back of his head. Hiroko positioned himself in the front of the group- his naginata gave him some extra reach, and he could use Sukukaja combined with ice magic to speed his way into combat and engage in hit-and-run.
