"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"
|
The red-eyed Shadow slowly stood, its makeshift mask shifting as beneath, its lips parted in a toothy, vicious smile. Objective accomplished. Why worry about the unknown, vaguely threatening neutral party when it was revealed you had a smoking gun to your back all along? Surely the smoking gun was more worrisome. And both of these two were acquainted with people who'd lost someone at Nishiyo's hands, making it all the more delicious. The Shadow watched Nishiyo for her reaction, keeping its glee suppressed. There was still Kaya's chainsaw to worry about, after all. Nishiyo, for her part, looked from one of her now former allies to the other. Both of their Personae had weapons aimed at her--melee weapons, physical weapons. She cursed her foolishness in revealing that weakness to them, but how could she have known they would run into something like this. The catsuit-wearing girl gulped. Well--the Chinese one seemed to be willing to let her live if it was to her advantage... or rather, seemed to be. There was a chance he was just looking to take her guard down. When Kaya turned to the Shadow again, though, Nishiyo was spared--for a moment--the necessity of answering quickly. The Shadow shrugged. "I know because the other me outside the ruins knows," it said simply. "Come on, 'Kayaya'... don't tell me you're going to let that pass? I doubt you'd pick a chainsaw for a weapon if you were the sort to play nice with the scum of the Earth." Nishiyo blanched when the Shadow turned its attention to her again. Slowly, she held up both her hands. "Now wait just a minute," she said. Then, realizing that continuing to channel her Persona through her voice at this juncture was probably a bad idea, she said it again, in her true voice. "Hang on a sec, there, hold up--it ain't--I ain't the one who killed any o' them! Amaya was my best friend, I don't even know what happened t' Piglet's old boytoy, and--who the hell's this Kiyoko girl? Ain't that one o' them who--ain't that one o' those twins who do each other? Ugh, squick." The red-eyed figure stuffed its hands in its pockets, closing its eyes in a strangely-knowing way. The moment Nishiyo finished speaking, it said in a low voice, its voice taking on a flawed, odd sort of half-assed Kansai accent: "Kiyoko's that girl ya took aside to play a little vidya when she got twitchy about dumpin' me in that lake, Sadako... remember?" Nishiyo didn't twitch, didn't freeze, didn't visibly react at all. But the realization was instantaneous. This was Kyo Charinko's Shadow. This was that green-haired cunt that had gotten away, the one she'd refused to kill afterward because--because-- Why? --and she was fucking with her again, fucking with her for real this time, even if it was through this stupid copycat thing, this doppelganger, this clone of her inner thoughts. This was--this was the last straw, there would be no mercy this time, no refusal, no leniency, Piglet was going to be gutted like the pig she was, oh yes, she was going to-- "Can I go now?" asked Kyo's Shadow in a bored voice, reverting to a Tokyo accent. Nishiyo's mind jerked violently back into the present, where Kyo Charinko--Shadow or otherwise--was now the least of her worries. |

"We're done," Wei said to the shadow, not looking away from Nishiyo. The temptation to give the shadow a quick grab on the backside was rather strong, but he didn't want to occupy his hands with even so pleasant a task when there might be murdering to do. He cracked his knuckles, one by one, and rolled his neck. He cast another sukukaja, barely managing to hold on to the prepared Muzzle Shot. Ideally, if she turned hostile, he could damage her and steal most of her capabilities as well. Of course, she was probably capable enough in hand to hand, and Wei knew enough to know how dangerous underestimating a female opponent was. "We can't discount what the shadow says, because I'm going to guess that Vampirella two-dot-oh here would use the truth to cause trouble before resorting to lies. Besides, the studious absence of reaction to the 'vidya' comment was rather interesting, you dig? Look...you're stalling. So why don't you just let us know: are we going to have ourselves a fight -- two bashers like me and Chainsaw-chan against one...whatever you are -- or are we going to have ourselves a deal? No tricks, immediate payoff, no 'at a later date' bullshit." Wei was holding himself loosely: tensing his joints would commit him to one course of action, and he needed to be able to respond to anything. The split-vision effect from his persona was giving him a bit of vertigo, and might slow him down a bit, but Jin Ke was already committed -- the Muzzle Shot would come at the first sign of hostility. |

Kaya's eye twitched as she heard the nickname "Kayaya". Not just because she's personally always despised that nickname, but also because only one person uses it. Pointing her hand towards the Shadow, she calmly told it, "I believe that you are who you say you are. I do however recommend you to shut your fucking mouth lest I do it for you." Looking over at Nishiyo, Kaya then added to Wei's comments. "I am not in the best of moods right now. As such, I recommend that you take the deal. You do not want the alternative. Get the picture?" For an added effect, she pointed her blade upwards for a moment to let out a small burst of flames as she cast Tarukaja on herself. "... Please." |

Nishiyo almost took another step back. Almost. But the sight of Wei so ready to strike her down made the girl think twice about making potential "false movements." Kyo's Shadow, for her part, just shrugged at Kaya's less-than-amicable response to her taunting. "Fair enough," she said. "Sorry, I guess. I'm not 'you,' after all. Didn't know that name was such a hot-button for you. I'll keep that in mind if we ever run into each other again..." The red-eyed figure didn't make a single threatening movement as it slipped past Wei, taking care not to obstruct his path to Nishiyo for a millisecond longer than needed. Its stance was obviously rigid, ready to go if either of them made a move against it, but it also appeared confident that they wouldn't. Nishiyo's throat was dry, she wanted to protest to the unfairness of this--that they would just let that thing go without a hassle, but now they were ganging up on her. As the Shadow slipped out of melee range, it looked over its shoulder, tipped an imaginary hat in Wei's direction, and said, "I'll be sending you a thing about that phone battery, 'MisterNg.' And you, Nishi-ko, had better start blubbering. Tooooooodles~" And then it just casually started to walk away. Nishiyo would have stared in disbelief if she hadn't been so concerned with the various ways her beautiful body could have been maimed or destroyed. Abruptly she remembered her shoulder, already injured, and still in a fair bit of pain--she'd tuned it out, because really this was nothing--okay that was a lie, it was the most painful thing she'd ever experienced, but pain was overrated. "Er--money! Money," she said quickly. "I have money. I have a lot of money. I can just pull some out of an ATM on the way back inta town, in fact! How much d'you want? I-It ain't a big thing, the only limit's how much the ATM will let me take out at once!" Money. Money, money, money, the only thing she had to offer. Or the only thing that sprang to mind. In the back of her mind she realized that if these two got too greedy, it would cut into her plans for those three idiots she'd sort-of recruited the other day, but that was fine... in that event, she was the one bargaining from a position of strength. Here--well, this wasn't even bargaining, she was literally being held at gunpoint. Half of her wanted to point out that these two were no better than muggers right now. That half of her was stupid and needed to grow a fucking self-preservation instinct, though. |

"Money?" Wei scoffed. "ATMs? That sounds an awful lot like you requesting that we take you some place with closed circuit television cameras. No dice. What do you have on you, what do you know that may be of use?" He shook his head. "This is too slow. Mask, weapons, everything on and about your person...put them in a pile on the ground right in front of you. Quickly and carefully. We don't know how long we've got until that clanking jackass shows up, after all." He pulled his knife out. "Any funny business and I might just peel you out of that catsuit and throw you down the next flight of stairs I see," he said, his voice betraying a warm smile behind his mask. |

Kaya simply stood there and let Wei did the job of doing the bargaining. He was probably better at it than she was. All she needed was to look threatening. Though Callahan was doing a good job of that, what with the whole Giant Fuckoff Gun pointed down at her right now. "Say the word, kid." Edited by Vect, Nov 1 2013, 09:55 PM.

Nishiyo's eyes narrowed. What did she have on her? What kind of question was that?! Did Wei expect her to bring valuables into the ruins, or what? Gritting her teeth, the black-haired girl muttered, "Alright..." and began to unbuckle the harness keeping her katana in place. As quickly as she could without looking threatening, Nishiyo brought the sheathed weapon out in front of her and laid it on the ground, vaguely thinking that it was probably the only item of real value Wei could take, and nothing was stopping her from replacing it if he did, so that wouldn't be so bad... maybe. Then, she took the hooded mask in hand and slipped it off her face--both the leathery hood and the thin, opaque material that shrouded her face beneath it were one item. She put this down on top of the weapons, and then took a step back. She had to wonder what Wei thought the point of taking her mask away was; she could just call it to her at any time, anyway... The last thing was the small satchel strapped to one leg, but all it contained was some basic first-aid equipment... and her cell phone. Her cell phone, which she hadn't even put all her relevant contacts and information back into after breaking her last one at the shopping mall that day--she had just... never found the motivation. So... nothing. She had nothing.Nothing except-- "What sorta information is it d'ya think I'd have that you'd want?" Nishiyo asked as she tossed he satchel toward the sword and mask. "I could give ya my parents' home address. That's about the only piece o' juicy intel I got. I'm tryin' t' get away from that shit, so it ain't like I'm keepin' up with what's what..." Nishiyo's eyes flitted down the hall, and then in the other direction, as if she wanted to twist her head around and see what was behind her. "I don't see how what I'd know would even help, anyway. My family don't operate out here." |

Wei fiddled with something in his pocket as Nishiyo was divesting herself of her things, and then pulled out his phone. He snapped a photograph of her, and then nodded. "Well...I suppose that the sword will have to do for now. Information about Osakan Yakuza does absolutely no good to me. Though I'm not sure I want to be seen exiting the ruins with such an individual. I think she should find another exit, how about you, Chainsaw-chan? Wouldn't want anyone associating us with her, after all." He disliked Nishiyo's attitude. Maybe picking her way through the dark for a few hours without a weapon, looking for another way back to civilization, would fix it. "Feel free to come up with something else to offer," he said to Nishiyo with a smile. "I suppose my reputation has a price." |

Kaya for her part didn't really care what the girl had to offer. She was however starting to worry about something else. "I suggest you get this trade over with quickly. For all of our sakes." Even she didn't want to deal with the Reaper. The sooner she starts giving up the goods, the better. |

Nishiyo gritted her teeth at the phone's little camera flash and watched with something akin to a sore-loser look as Wei put the phone in his pocket. Another exit?! Was that supposed to be some kind of joke? Did this cretin think that Nishiyo hadn't taken the time to figure out where the different mountain entrances were, or where they were in relation to each other, or... ...o-or... For that matter, the entrance she'd gone in through today, where were the others, um-- ...And wait, if that red-eyed thing was Charinko's Shadow, then--then what if it was just waiting in here for her, waiting for the others to go--without weapons--w-wasn't Charinko some kind of vigilante's pupil, with fighting skills and stuff? Physical fighting skills?! The real one had already tried to kill her once, if the fake one had the chance, then it would definitely-- "W-wait!" Nishiyo said, her voice taking on a higher pitch. "You can't leave me alone in here. Killing a murder is still murder itself, and if I can't get out of here because of you--" And, breaking her restrained motions somewhat, Nishiyo couldn't help a stilted pointing motion, first at Wei, then at the one the Shadow had called Kayaya. "It'll still be you holding the smoking gun, you know! You can't just--you can't just call someone a murderer and then murder them yourselves as if that makes you any better, you--" She sent a panicked look back in the direction that Shadow Kyo had vanished. "--I don't have anything to offer you, dammit," she hissed. "Money is all I have. All I have, do you understand me! I have nothing otherwise, nothing, it's the only thing keeping the spiders away, and--" And she broke off, clamping her hands over her mouth, eyes going wide with puzzlement. Her eyes had shifted to a dark, poisonous-looking gray-green, and her voice had distorted again, channeling that of Diabound as before, but this time it hadn't been by choice. It had just... happened! That was when Nishiyo realized she that she was feeling tingles all throughout her body, particularly in her fingertips, and that her heart was beating too quickly. The closest she'd ever felt to this was when Fear magic had placed her under the illusion that someone was holding a gun to her head and she couldn't see anything, couldn't move or they'd end her and she would lose, lose forever. There would be no second chance, no pulling up from behind, nothing... |
