The name "Sadako" sounded familiar to Kaya, but otherwise unfamiliar to her. Could be that it was a common name. Could be that she read it elsewhere.

Nonetheless, she was intrigued by the fact that the Shadow was surrendering and offering to leave them alone. She didn't even know that these things were capable of sentience. That just made things complicated. She liked it when they were mindless beasts. Less hassle that way.

Still, when Wei went to disarm and trap the Shadow, Kaya followed up by holding her chainsaw in a threatening position. She can't help but feel that this was going to end with the shadow lashing out against them.

She also took the chance to summon up Callahan to aim it's gun at the shadow's head.
"You'll forgive us if we're a bit cautious."

Nishiyo couldn't help but pump a fist in the air when Wei brought down the Shadow. Indeed, it was a little disappointing in a way, how easily he achieved this. Part of it was probably just that it had its hands in the air, which left it in a very vulnerable state--no physical defense established or anything. Its sole resistance was probably even just a reflex. When Wei burst into the entryway, the Shadow jerked back, its red-glowing eyes registering surprise. Its arms raised in a standard hand-to-hand defense, its feet began to spread themselves out a bit, but before it could even establish the kind of footing it needed for a brawl, its feet were swept out from under it and it was falling, and all it managed to do was jerk its hands up between the wire and its own throat, adding a barrier between it and strangulation, or... or worse, since now that her hands were so close, the Shadow could tell that these wires were quite sharp.

Yet, as it went down, the Shadow didn't vocalize anything at all. Not a swear or a curse, nor a yell of surprise, or even a gasp. It fell backwards and then Wei was on top of it, and it just stared up at the Chinese man with a bemused expression for a few moments. Kaya added a chainsaw and a gun to the list of reasons not to make any sudden movements, and in the cramped entryway of the restroom that meant this particular Shadow was pretty much... well, dead meat! And that was no good.

Nishiyo crept closer to the bathroom doorway, still pushing Dia magic into her wound. "That's good, you have it on the ropes," she said. "So let's just kill it and get moving. I need to get one of those emergency healers, I can't handle this one on my own."

The hooded girl felt herself shaking against the cold--the poison had prompted a fever response from her body, it couldn't even tell that there wasn't an actual poison in her blood, stupid idiot body. The Shadow chuckled a bit and shook her head. "That's hardly smart, for all you know I could be, like, one of the things down here who isn't all down with 'Miss Yellow's' mysterious evil villainy stuff," it said. "I don't want anything from you guys, I swear! Unless you have a spare jacket. Or a willingness to exact justice on murdering Yakuza scum in extremely painful ways. That works, too..."

Nishiyo's teeth clenched beneath her mask. Was this one of those Shadows who would just... spew all of her innermost secrets out in an effort to get her to deny it? God, she hoped these two were smart enough to just finish it off before it said any more...

Wei tensed his legs, making sure that the shadow was well and truly pinned. He was significantly larger than her, having at least thirty centimeters and an accompanying increased mass -- she might be able to get leverage off of the ground, but he would no doubt be able to ruin her day if she did.

"Well if it isn't Vampirella's shadow," Wei said, feigning surprise. Not much got him worked up enough for real surprise these days. He quickly put together that this might have been the person harassing Charinko on Bedlam, and a plan began to form. "Don't worry, we aren't going to just murder you, are we, Chainsaw-chan? No...I, at least, simply prefer bargaining from a position of strength. Which I'm sure you'll admit that we have."

He smiled from behind his wicker mask, eyes cold and hard. Another man might have simply gone ahead and attempted to shear the shadow's head from her shoulders, but Wei didn't come from a line of hunters and warriors -- his family was one of intrepid merchants, and he knew that this situation was a unique opportunity. He licked his teeth, and smiled broader, his features cast in shadow behind the mask.

"Now...what can you offer in exchange for the continuation of your existence? Make it good, and there may be...I don't know. A jacket or a nice extended life cell phone battery or something in it for you."

The comment about hunting down Yakuza caught Kaya's attention. So it seems it was one of those Shadows. The kind that tries to give you a lecture about your deepest darkest secrets or whatever. Of course, Kaya wasn't the one to let herself get bothered by that.

Kaya revved up her chainsaw, letting it purr a bit in it's mechanical glory.
"I recommend you cooperate with us."

Nope, not bothered at all.

The Shadow's red eyes snapped to Wei for a moment, registering alarm. Its face was still concealed--how had this man figured out whose Shadow it was? The revving of Kaya's chainsaw drew its eye again. And somehow, that seemed to calm the creature; it chuckled, and lightly nodded its head, as much as its current position would allow.

"You're a smart man. I like smart men. It's too bad I'm stuck in here, really. Jingle-jangle-jingle-jangle... never enough time to have any real fun..." it said sadly.

Nishiyo, slowing to a stop just outside the doorway, asked: "Who's 'Vampirella?' ...Oh, never mind. Just finish this thing off already, Shadows aren't worth dealing with. Don't let its ability to talk fool you! This thing's as single-minded as all the--"

"Information," the Shadow said, in a suddenly deathly-serious voice. "If you know 'Vampirella,' you know she's got plenty of that stuff. About all kinds of people! Let me go and you can take your pick. Oh, and... as a good faith package? I can tell you the names of the last three people I know about that the Osakan Yakuza Princess over there killed in cold blood~"

Nishiyo froze. The singsong note on which the Shadow had ended this statement made it all the more menacing to her, such that she couldn't help but take a reflexive step back. Nor could she stop her eyes from fixing themselves on the chainsaw Kaya held...

"...How's that sound, Wei?" said the Shadow brightly. "Of course, maybe you'd like to mull it over a bit longer. Stay on top. I'm cool with that, I can go whichever way you like! Just keep in mind that jingling jangling timer's still going while we sit here."

Wei released the loose end of the wire and pulled the spool end, effectively removing the threat of garotting, though he didn't get up from his current position. He waved away the chainsaw. He wasn't about to give up the superior position, but removing the threat of immediate death might be enough to secure the 'good faith package.'

He spoke quietly, hoping that the catsuit girl wouldn't be able to hear as easily.

"Kind of hard to come up with something on the spot, and time is wasting, comfortable as this position is...You're the troll, right? On Bedlam? Message me the make of whatever phone you've got and I'll bring you a fresh, fully charge battery for it. We'll work something out after that. Fair?"

So the catsuit girl was a "yakuza princess?" A bit far fetched, but Nagashima was a weird place, and she seemed better-equipped than most people he met down here. He wasn't about to just discount that possibility. It had been so long since he had knifed a Yakuza, it would be difficult for him not to approach this situation with a sadistic glee.

He would keep a handle on things. This wasn't the sort of situation to go wild.

An Osakan Yakuza Princess, hmm? Kaya had some experiences with those. She's never killed one though. Still, was it right to kill the family of criminals?

Well, that question will have to be answered later. As tempting as it sounds, the Ruins was probably not a place for that.

She answered Wei's request with a nod, slowly backing off but keeping her weapon aimed at the Shadow. She understood what he was going for, but still had trouble trusting the Shadow.

It's not like they were anything but monsters, right?

Nishiyo didn't like where this was going. Not at all. Not. At all. She shook her head, pointing to the masked Shadow. "You can't be serious," she said. "You can not be serious. You're going to help a Shadow keep access to Bedlam? If the other users knew what you were doing--y-y-y-you can't even trust a thing this monster says, anyway! It's a Shadow! It's only going to twist everything around--"

The Shadow let out a hearty laugh, an obnoxious and almost barking guffaw, cutting across Nishiyo's protest as cleanly as a lightsaber might decapitate a battle droid. "Ha! Me, the monster. That's a good one," it said. "And you got yourself a deal, Wei-my-man. Just make sure you don't go back on it. Don't worry; I don't give a flying fuck about Miss Yellow and her bullshit. If she ever gets onto Bedlam, it won't be through me..."

The glee faded from the Shadow's eyes, and from its voice. There was a steely glint there now, and grim determination.

"I ain't no one's plaything," it said. "The only one I answer to is me. Now, as for those names..."

Nishiyo tensed, and beneath her mask, she opened her mouth, but in a moment of indecision she couldn't think of anything to interrupt with that didn't sound incriminating--

"The last three I know about? Kyo Charinko's first boyfriend, Kenshin Nakadachi. Amaya Toyama, who she killed dressed as that green-haired bitch, incidentally... and I don't know her first name, but the mother of a girl named Kiyoko Yukimura was the most recent one that I know. Happened in Osaka. That was a pretty gruesome one, so I hear..."

Nishiyo forgot to breath. It did know. It did know. It knew it knew it had told Sukukaja--

She pumped the spell directly into her body, taking another step backward. Beneath the hooded mask, her eyes flitted unconsciously in the direction of the exit. She had to talk her way out of this, had to put distance between herself and that chainsaw, had to--had to--she didn't know what she had to do but it had to be something--

"So," said the Shadow in a bored voice. "Can I get up now?"

Wei rocked back into a sitting position, then onto his heels and stood. The sukukaja had worn off, but he was still fast and relatively undamaged. He grinned at the catsuit girl over his shoulder, and then offered the shadow a hand to help her up.

"Trust? Not in the least," he said, then glanced over at the red-eyed shadow. "Sorry, it's the truth. Doesn't mean we can't make a deal."

He focused his attention back on Nishiyo. When he spoke, his voice had a slithering, reptilian quality to it. He hoped that the chainsaw girl would come along for the ride -- if she didn't get that he was pumping the Yakuza Princess for more information, then things might get a little dicey.

"However...the real question is what you're going to do now that Chainsaw-chan and I know -- " he didn't think he knew anything. However, the girl's panicked reaction was enough to give the accusation some credence. " -- so let's head for the exit, nice and friendly-like, and you can explain what our silence is worth to you. Just...sweeten the pot a bit, you dig~?"

To maintain his policy of only bargaining from a position of strength, he summoned Jin Ke, and placed the spectral assassin in the direction that the girl was looking. It raised its straight-bladed sword, the blade charged already with a Muzzle Shot.

Slowly turning her head to Nishiyo, Kaya said nothing as Callahan turned his gun towards the girl. So it seems that this one wasn't exactly innocent.
"Kids are people too. That just means that they can be as bad as anyone else."

Still, Kaya kept her blade pointed towards the shadow. Just because it gave her useful information doesn't mean that it can be trusted.

Hold on a minute...

Quickly turning to the Shadow, Kaya asked it,
"I'm curious as to how you know all of this."
