"Now? I think it's best we left." The adrenaline was wearing off…or maybe just the Sukukaja spell. Possibly both. Either way, everything sped up to it's normal speed with Maki's perspective, she put the gun away and felt herself relax. Well, 'relax' at least. As much as discovering the body of some poor young man dragged into the ruins without someone there to save him. For all she knew, they could have failed to save him themselves by being just mere minutes too late. She searched his pockets for a wallet, anything that would have told her who he was. She found some ID, and it had with it a name: Takumi Yamaguchi. His name was Takumi Yamaguchi A young man with family and friends, all of whom would need to at least know he didn't just vanish some day. "I'm going to get him out of here. At least he'll get a proper burial rather than just being forgotten in the ruins." She'd have to move the body, make it seem like he died somewhere in the mountains, not entirely inaccurate, and the best she could hope for given the nature of the ruins. It was more than could be done for the vast majority of people who are lost in the ruins. She gathered his things, grasped the body from behind, and dragged it towards the exit. "Please keep an eye out for me, you two." |

Suzu struggled back to her feet without any help, other than her own weapon, pushing its tip against the ground to propel herself up. That wasn't so bad of a fight. Noticing the enemies were vanquished - and happy she had taken one out herself - the redhead took the time to straighten her clothes, which had gotten messy during the fall. As Kazue and Maki talked, her eyes fell on the body. No matter how much of a tough front Suzu usually put up, she felt sick at the sight. She took a moment to close her eyes and shake her head, so to shun the shiver running down her spine at the sight of death. "Y're gonna carry the body all the way t'town? What 'bout the possible investigations into it? Couldn't it be kinda dangerous for us?" Suzu pointed out. It's not like Maki could walk into town carrying a dead body; and placing it elsewhere would make it obvious that it wasn't the original crime scene, which would in turn generate an endless amount of questions. "I don't think there's a moral thing to do here... Leave him." |

"We should take him out of here," Kazue said, looking flatly at Suzu. "Seems like the base level of common courtesy. I know I wouldn't want to be left down here if something happened." The young man's body had been broken by the shadows. Why had they been fighting over it anyway? She didn't think any of them ate flesh. Was there something that they wanted on him? Did shadows even want anything? So much of this didn't make sense. "Let's grab him and head back for the entrance," she sighed. |

Suzu's suggestion left Maki suddenly with a deep, disproving scowl on her face. She tersely shot back to her suggestion. "What would you think if it was someone you cared about that was in this situation? Would you still think it was moral to leave them to be picked over by the Shadows?" She could have managed it by herself, they weren't so far from the entrance that it'd be too much of an ordeal. "I had no intention of taking his remains all the way back to town. If you don't want to get involved with this? Just say so Takaki-san, but don't try to claim the moral high ground while you do. Whatever happens as a result of this? I'm taking full responsibility." She calmed down a bit. She could think more clearly, and she thought of the time she first appeared there. Right, those Shadows… "Besides, there's a more practical reason to remove any corpses found from the ruins as soon as possible. They can be animated and made into Shadows themselves. Getting his body out of the ruins as quickly as possible at least eliminates one potential threat to everyone who visits here." |

"Courtesy?" Suzu blinked rather numbly. "Fuck courtesy, I care 'bout survival. It ain't my fault he died." Sure, it sucked. It really did. To be frank, such things made the redhead feel quite sick. But, survival of the fittest was a thing those days. "...Didn't'cha hear me? I said there was no morality to this." Suzu deadpanned at Maki's argument, trying to wonder how on Earth she even got to think that up. "And what ifs are a god damn waste of time. But yeah, I'll indulge ya. If it were me, I wouldn't give a fuck what happened because I'd be dead." Whatever happened to survival? These two were too much of softies. "...Oh." Suzu felt like facepalming at the final argument. "...Why the fuck didn'tcha say that in the first place?" As if she knew there were Shadows that could do that. She hadn't faced any, at least. "Then drag him t'the entrance and that's that I guess." 'Logic, hello...?' |

"We've probably wasted enough time," Kazue noted. "Do you need any help moving him, Officer Yamada?" She moved around to his feet. She didn't relish the thought of touching a dead body, but leaving him down here didn't seem to be a good option and she wasn't about to let Maki move it on her own if she wanted help. Besides, she was as tall as most adult japanese men and just as broad. That being said, she didn't want to do more work than she had to. Hopefully they could escape without encountering any more shadows. Suzu's scanning ability would be useful there. |

"I see, and it's my mistake for mishearing you before, Takaki-san." When Kazue offered to help, Maki was mildly surprised. Pleasantly, of course, but still surprised. She didn't like handling bodies herself and she wasn't expecting anyone to line up to help her with that, certainly not a teenager. "I would appreciate that, yes, Kazue. The sooner we can carry this out, the better it'll be. Less chance of encountering more trouble, or running out of time." |

With two people carrying the body already, Suzu found it useless to join them - a relief, actually, as she wasn't looking forward to touching a body that was probably starting to decompose. And so, she gripped her weapon more tightly, activating her scanning ability to the widest range possible for Undine. Not much trouble until the exit~ "C'mon, follow me." She said before proceeding to walk in said exit's general direction, paying attention for any Shadow nearing them. Fortunately, none crossed their path, so the escape was safe. Once outside, Suzu glanced at the time, and winced. Her shift started in thirty minutes... |
