"Just a friend, sorry 'bout that." Suzu said, shrugging the matter off. She had to remember to mention such a thing to Taketo later on. Coincidences were always fun~

"Alright." The instant they stepped into the Ruins, Suzu had her Analysis skill fully activated. Of course, she noticed the Shadows within her scanning radius instantly.

"Couple weaklings nearby... Weak t'ice, strong against electricity. Boo..."

When they entered the lobby area there were two sounds: the questioning gurgle of the two shadows looking up at them and the roar of Maki's gun. Kazue yelped as one of the two shadows disintegrated into a spray of black goo. She held up her right hand and conjured her mask: the violet-and-green domino slid easily onto her face and Papa Ghede appeared: the dessicated corpse in tattered finery stood next to her and touched his bottle of rum to the brim of his hat.

The other seer began to retreat, firing a bolt of lightning in Maki's direction. It had made it three steps when the magna Kazue cast caused it to sink halfway into the ground, immobilizing it and applying a crushing force to its lower half.

The things weren't very formidable. She ejected the Shell and donned her own mask. Rather than fire another shot, she had something in mind that would perhaps have been easier on the other girl's ears.

Nothing was said about fire or wind, so she assumed those two types of attacks would have been find. She fired a single Agi spell at the weakened Shadow.

"There are no more nearby, are there, Suzu?"

It wasn't the first time Suzu heard a handgun being discharged, but it still caused a mild buzzing in her ears, making her wince. As she regained her focus...

...One was gone, the other was about to die.

"Ya party poopers, leave some for me next time." The redhead grumbled, proceeding to scan ahead, as the remaining one didn't exactly pose a threat.

"Not really, maybe we should go further in?"

The remaining seer was burnt to a crisp by the proper application of fire magic. It burst and turning into black, tar-like goo after just a second. The ooze then began to try out and flake.

Kazue paused to listen though there were always strange sounds in the ruins. Buzzing, laughter, shrieking.

"Christ. My ears," Kazue said. "Not that I'm complaining. It's just very loud. More accurate than I was imagining, too."

Suzu would note that -- in various directions -- there were a group of three Mister Samsa shadows, a group of two Shrieking Eagles and three Groping Hands, and -- in the opposite direction -- a single, skulking Inverted Unicorn.

"You can scan, right?" Kazue asked Suzu. "Spot anything good?"

"Yeah, it usually only turns a room into spam in the movies." Her scattergun had a relatively restrained spread precisely to avoid excess danger to those around her. She was interested in shooting what she aimed at, and only that.

"We'll follow your guidance, Suzu. Which way do you think would be best for us to find a manageable fight in?"

"Uh... Let's see..." Suzu focused one more time as they walked. Suddenly, three separate groups of Shadows popped into existence...

"Whoa, it's gettin' crowded in here..." She idly commented, scanning their strengths and weaknesses. She pointed in the direction of the Mister Samsa group. "Three, weak t'light, resists physical... Quite big ones." None of them had a Hama spell, so that group might be problematic - they seemingly were heavy hitters.

"There..." She pointed to the second group. "Quite the party. Two 'o one type, three 'o the other. The couple ones are weak t'ice, 'n resist fire 'n wind. Might be a problem for ya, Kazue." She idly commented while focusing on the trio. "The three with 'em are weak t'physical 'n dark, we can prolly wipe the floor with 'em."

One group left... She, again, pointed in that direction. "Single one in that direction... Oooooh, I fought that son of a bitch before." Her eyebrow twitched. "It's that poison unicorn asshole. Weak t'light 'n gravity, resists wind, absorbs dark. Dickwad is on the ceilin', 'n drops some sort'a miraculous, heal-all horn thingy."

She then glanced at Maki, the supposed leader. "Despite risky, I'd go for the larger group. I can heal if necessary."

Kazue nodded.

"I've also got healing," she added. "So maybe there's not much to worry about."

She tested the edge of her knife. It was good for now but at some point she would have to take care of it. After she did, she looked at Maki and nodded: the older woman had the heavy ordinance and presumably some kind of experience with it.

After thinking it over, she decided.

"I agree, we should try to go after the five divided into the two groups of Shadows." Her Agi and Garu spells would be of limited use against two of them, but with three with a physical weakness. It should be manageable. When factoring in the capabilities of the young women? Very much manageable.

With a plan in mind, she moved closer to where the larger crowd of shadows was. Other than their numbers and weaknesses, little was known about them until she had a good look, right?

Suzu followed obediently, gripping her bat a bit more tightly than she probably should, paying close attention to any sort of enemies that may approach them in the meantime.

"We should deal with the small fries first... Then it'll be three on two, strength in numbers."
