Despite the rush hour, Machi had managed to drive relatively safely out of town, into the woods. Instead of parking in the usual ample clearing, she actually drove all the way through the woods, parking in the cliff area, parallel to its edge. "Here we are." She said, as she motioned Alan out of the truck.

The sun shone a beautiful orange color along the grassy, peaceful area, that reflected nicely off the car and Machi's hair. Said girl exited the vehicle and walked to its back, at which point she jumped so to stand in the open back part, sitting down crosslegged to watch the sunset.

"This my sanctuary, pretty much. Welcome, Alan-kun." She decided to use that suffix, having longed for such for months. She was entirely unaware of Alan's accidental voyeurism experience. "You are the second person I ever brought here." 'Third, if you count my mother's ashes...'

By the time they finally reached the woods, Alan had regained control of his body. Well, Whisp had LET him regain control of his body at least...With a small smile the boy got out of the truck, silently looking around.

The boy's smile grew as he took in the view.. This time he actually noticed how serene everything was...This place was really nice, it was really an honor to be invited here...

Alan-kun? The boy looked at Machi, feeling his cheeks burn slightly. He never actually thought he'd hear that suffix come from Machi. "It's beautiful." He spoke, climbing up next to Machi. "Thank you for inviting me...Machi-chan." He certainly hoped that suffix would be okay now.

And just like that, Machi was as red as the truck she was sitting on. Sure, her brain had warned her such a suffix would likely come up, but she still felt quite embarrassed and happy about it.

"Why don't you join me?" She offered once fighting back the redness, tapping the space directly beside herself as he climbed on, while the other side rested against the back window of the truck. It sure was a first class seat for such a show.

Her eyes seemed to focus on the horizon, and a small smile was in place. For some reason, she felt very slightly nervous, and Shou was the furthest thing from her mind. "What have you been doing all this time? We haven't spoken in a while..."

"Sure." Alan smiled, moving to be next to the girl. His heart was pounding, but he reminded himself over and over again that he was just Machi's friend. Taketo was right, he needed to just get over her already...

Pff, he probably just wants you to himself! Fuck that! There's no way Machi and Shou will last! Just you fucking watch!

As usual, Alan ignored Whisp.

"Ah well not much really." He let out a small laugh. "Kinda just been hanging out with Taketo-kun, playing games." A grin appeared on his face. "Bet I can beat you now."

"Other than that and work, I haven't really been doing much. " Truth was, getting used to his eye had been a major pain in the ass. He'd gone out when he wasn't fully used to it yet...

Ended up dropping ice cream RRRIIIGGGHT into someone's crotch. But, hopefully he wouldn't have to worry about such incidents for much longer.

"How about yourself?"

Machi fought the urge to lean against Alan as they sat, instead forcing herself to do the exact opposite, leaning against the back window.

"I've been really busy... I think I'll let you have a close look at some of my activities as of late." And with that, she took out her cellphone, going to the images section, and pulling one up of Aleph in a pink tutu. Sure, she couldn't stand the guy, but the image was too hilarious to delete.

Alan's eye widened slightly at the picture of Aleph. "Pff." A large smiled made it way to his face as the boy began to laugh. "I had no idea Aleph took up ballet!"

The boy had to look away from the picture, otherwise he'd probably die from laughter. "How did that even happen?"

Machi put away her phone, her job had been done. She just smiled, rather proud with such an achievement.

"Before things went... sour, we hung out, along with Hana-chan." She recalled the tale. "There was this Virtua Fighter tournament, which I won. The prize was to get them to do whatever I wanted."

She decided to turn so she was leaning back against the window, and facing Alan properly, not paying attention to the sunset anymore. "I got Hana-chan to owe me a full day of cuddling, and I ordered Serizawa-san to wear a pink tutu. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures..."

Alan turned, facing Machi as well as she spoke. A game tournament, that would have been fun...Then again he might have ended up in a pink tutu as well.

We can pull it off.

Annnd ignoring Whisp again.

"You could've had her be your cuddle slave for the rest of her life." He laughed again.

Don't give her ideas!

The more they spoke, the more Alan began to relax. It was like old times, he was glad that they were talking, that they were friends again.

"Where's the fun in that? I like to cuddle multiple people... Such a thing would rob me of that freedom." Machi liked to cuddle with Hanako, Momoko, Shou...

...Speaking of which, she never cuddled with Alan...

"Well, that was just the very tip of the iceberg." What else to tell him... "Something else that happened, you probably heard of it already, was the Beetle incident."

She sighed a little, prior to telling the tale. "Erina-chan, Serizawa-san, myself and Benkei-san met up in the ruins, wherein Erina-chan requested our help at finding a Burning Beetle Queen." She finally looked away, glancing at the sunset. "We decided to confront Serizawa-san over his gun, to which he responded extremely rudely, by insulting my intelligence of all things."

She sighed. The memories were painful. "I'm not sure if you recall, but there was this thread I said my knee wouldn't be aiming for his gut the next time? Yes, such a thing happened." It was pretty much implied exactly where she hit him. "After that, the ground collapsed, Serizawa-san refused to cooperate intelligently, and ended up leaving me for dead. I owe my life to Shou-kun, he was there to rescue me."

Indeed. If he hadn't been there... "Luckily, we managed to escape. The rest, well, you know of it." Alan had been at Hanako's celebration after all.

"Oh..."

The boy's eye widened slightly as he processed all the information. Aleph had...left her for dead..."..."

Don't let it breed.

"I'm glad you all made it out okay." He spoke, not sure if he should feel relief, anger, or...more anger. He was happy, really happy she was okay, but he couldn't believe Aleph actually left her for dead.

Alan let out a small sigh. There was no point dwelling on it...at least not right now.
