So, they finally finished their lunch. Having a satisfied smile on her face, she looked at the maids and a chef (was he there a while ago?) and said, "Thank you for the food," she beamed cheerfully. "Ojou-sama, next time, make sure to eat carefully," Subaru told the heiress as she used a handkerchief to wipe a food stain on Kinzaki's cheek. "Is the food good, Serizawa-san?" she asked Aleph. |

Aleph used the napkin to wipe off his face after he was done eating. Aleph looked at the maids, then at the chef. When did he get there? Oh, well. "It was delicious. Really it was." Aleph said, smiling. "If I could cook like this, you wouldn't see me trying to lead a group or anything, really." |

Kinzaki looked at Aleph, pondering to herself about something. What's up with his obsession to lead other people? While she figured out that he might want to prove himself in some way or another, or want to be accepted by others, she might want to hear that from the person himself. "Serizawa-san, why do you want to be a leader so much?" Kinzaki asked. "I've been following the latest updates in Bedlam and your posts about recruiting others into your group..." she looked at Aleph apologetically. "Sorry to say that you're doing a very bad job with it. So, please tell me..." she demanded. "...why do you want to become a leader?" |

Aleph winced and scratched his head as Kinzaki asked him about why he wanted to be a leader. He almost forgot about why to begin with. "It's not really as much as I want to be a leader as I want to make friends." Aleph said. "Everyone around me seems like a leader of something these days. If they can do it....well, why can't I?" |

Kinzaki listened to Aleph, nodding to herself while doing it. "I see..." she mused. "So, you said you want to make some friends by making yourself a leader, huh?" she said, tapping her own chin as she said that. "I think I can understand that..." she said. "But, there's something that you need to know," Kinzaki said, looking at the boy. "Most people become a leader because of the necessity and responsibility," she told the boy. "Especially about the responsibility. When you're leading others, you have to take full responsibility for those who are below you." "Becoming a leader is not about fun and games. It is like putting yourself in a position where you may need to endanger yourself for the sake of those under you," Kinzaki continued. "To be a leader means that you cannot think about yourself all the time and have to be responsible for others. In my opinion, you are still unfit to be a leader. I heard about the incidents that happened before. One of them was about you abandoning a teammate to die. That's not how a leader should act..." Then, she shrugged. "And there are more ways to have friends than becoming a leader, you know?" she said. |

Aleph listened and nodded as he listened to Kinzaki explain all the neccessary requirements and such to become a leader. Responsibility for those below you. Aleph now began to realize that. He, like an idiot, always thought it was about being in the spotlight while everyone else held you up. Stupid thinking, he now realized. Aleph listened on as Kinzaki continued her lecture. The sudden shift of topic to the beetle hunt was...rather alarming and overall depressing. His mind shifted back to the memories of when he attempted to make up for leaving Machi for dead. He apologized to her. Twice. She pushed him away. Twice. Aleph had to remind himself over and over and over again that he did not want to be tested on leadership in the ruins. But Machi said that people can't have fun in the ruins. Aleph sighed after Kinzaki finished her lecture. This just had to come up in conversation at some point. Somehow, she knew she was going to mention this one way or the other. "I didn't mean to leave Machi-san for dead. I wasn't thinking clearly, is all. In fact, I never really wanted a situation like that one to happen to begin with." Aleph said, tearing up slightly. "I just wanted to have fun hunting Shadows with my friends. But I guess you can't have fun in the ruins, can you?" Why does everyone and everything have to make every single thing in life so depressing? "I know there's other ways to make friends. But back then, I felt as though being a leader of something was the only effective way for me to make friends." Aleph added. "But I guess I was wrong." |

"Of course, to a certain degree, you can have fun in the ruins," Kinzaki said. "But you also need to remember that the ruins isn't our playground. It's a nest of monsters, and while we don't usually see it, people died there," she reminded the boy of the awful truth about the mysterious ruins. "There were people who were unlucky because no Persona-users came to rescue them, and they ended up being killed by Shadows there..." her expression was grim while saying that. "And even if you want to have fun, you need to sort out your priority first," Kinzaki added. "You need to make sure that everyone around you is safe, and you also need to make plans for your group. Without a plan, you and others around you may have to face mortal danger," she said, looking at Aleph. "And to become a leader, you need to think clearly. Not be able to think clearly isn't an excuse if you are a leader, Serizawa-san." |

Aleph listened and nodded as Kinzaki continued her lecture. It did lighten up Aleph's mood somewhat, but a twinge of tension was also added as the heiress continued on. Apparently, people have died in the ruins because noone came to rescue them. Aleph winced at that thought. He was beginning to feel more and more grateful Edward had shown up before Aleph Awakened to his Persona. There were also some things Kinzaki said about priorities and planning. Aleph listened to everything, so hopefully no incident like the beetle hunt would happen again. Aleph nodded when she finished. "Yes. I understand." Aleph said. |

Kinzaki smiled upon hearing Aleph's response. "I hope you understand," she said. "Just consider this as the first lesson for you to improve yourself," she said while smiling to the boy. Then, Kinzaki got up before she looked at Subaru. "Subaru-kun, will you please show Serizawa-san a way out? I have something to do after this," she said before she left Subaru with Aleph. Then, Subaru went to Aleph's side, looking at him with a neutral expression. "Kinzaki Ojou-sama trusts you..." Subaru spoke to Aleph softly. "Don't betray her trust..." she added before she went to the door. "This way, Serizawa-san. Let me show you the way out." |

Aleph nodded. This definitely was the first lesson in improving himself. And Aleph was going to need some lessons later on, given the current situation he had at hand. Aleph watched as Kinzaki left the room and Subaru showed Aleph the way out. Aleph nodded at Subaru. Kinzaki did trust him, it seemed. Who was he to betray that trust, not that he had any other choice? With that, Aleph got up from his chair and began to follow Subaru out of the building. That choker thing is gonna cause you some trouble. It will, yes. But it's for the best. |
