"Ah, I'm glad you say that, Serizawa-san," Kinzaki beamed cheerfully, taking out a piece of paper from the file. "Now, all you have to do is sign the contract," she said, putting the paper in front of Aleph. "The usual kind, you know?"

EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT

This agreement is made and takes effect on XX-XX-XXXX between Kinzaki Kirihara, the Chairperson of Kirihara Corporation, hereafter called "Chairperson", and Akira Serizawa, hereafter called "Employee".

Witnesseth:

1. The Chairperson hereby employs Employee for a term commencing on the date of this agreement and Employee hereby accepts such employment.

2. During the Employee's employment, he will:

  • Devote such time and effort for his duties for the sake of the Chairperson.
  • Not engage in any other employment or business activity without the Chairperson's written consent.
3. Employee understands that he will acquire confidential information of business value to the Chairperson and the company during the course of his employment. Employee hereby agrees not to divulge such confidential information to any other party, or to use such information for his own profit except in performance of employment activities beneficial to the Chairperson. Failure to do so will result a dire consequence, where the Employee may find himself thrown into the ocean.

4. The agreement is an employment-at-will agreement. The Chairperson may, at any time, with or without cause, discharge the Employee by giving him written notice of such discharge. This kind of thing may never happen, so please do not worry. =D

5. Failure to follow any of the Chairperson's instructions, reasonable or otherwise, may result in such a fatal consequence where the Employee will be tossed from a private jet into the deep jungle of Amazon. Punishments may vary. So, Employee shall never ever make the Chairperson angry, for the sake of his everlasting health.

6. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Chairperson and Employee.

7. This agreement shall be interpreted and, if necessary, adjudicated in accordance with the laws of Japan (lol).

8. This agreement will never, ever be terminated without the Chairperson's consent, and this agreement will only be terminated without the Chairperson's consent upon Employee's death.

Signed By:

___________________________
Kinzaki Kirihara, the Chairperson of Kirihara Corporation

"Please sign the contract, Serizawa-san," Kinzaki said, smiling sweetly, putting a pen on the paper.

Upupupupu~!
Aleph read the entire contract over, including the parts that might as well be in fine print. His eyes somewhat bulged when he came upon certain parts of the contract.

WOAH! SHIT! STOP RIGHT THERE! Why the fuck is there being dumped in the Amazon or being thrown into an ocean in the punishment list?

Is any of that even legal?

Knowing rich people, Aleph thought, they probably didn't really give a flying shit about laws or rules or anything that may obligate them in any way whatsoever. Because they have money and that's all that matters.

I'm REALLY starting to have second thought about this, Adonis.

Since when the fuck do you have second thoughts about anything? This is another chance to form a friendship with somebody, who by the way is super rich, and totally NOT fuck up said friendship this time. And there's money involved, don't forget. MONEY!

Aleph thought that he didn't really have any other choice. This was for the sake of his reputation and his social skill development. Plus, if he botched up this friendship, the conseuquences could be fatal.

No. Aleph will do his best not to botch up this friendship.

Aleph calmly picked up the pen and signed his name on the contract. There's no going back now. And Aleph may as well take the risk.

Seeing that Aleph had signed the contract, Kinzaki smiled happily. "Alright, well done!" she exclaimed cheerfully before she went to sign her name on the contract as well. Then, her butler also signed her name on the contract as the witness. With the contract signed, both Kinzaki and Aleph had forged an agreement.

"Alright, with this contract signed, let's move on to the next stage," Kinzaki said before she looked at Subaru. "Will you please, Subaru-kun?"

"Understood, Ojou-sama," Subaru nodded before she took out something from her pocket. It was a black choker.

"Please put it on yourself, Serizawa-san," Kinzaki said. "It's a present from me..." her smile was eerily cheerful as she said that. "Put it on, right now," she ordered.

Aleph looked as Kinzaki and her butler man dude person thing signed the contract. Then, for some reason, Subaru handed Aleph a black choker.

Don't women wear chokers or something?

It's probably a shock collar in which she aims to tame you with.

....what the fuck?

Look, Master. Just go with it and put the damn thing on. It's probably harmless.

The choker did seem relatively harmless, much to Aleph's concerns. Regardless, he took the choker and put it on around his neck.

...........

Nothing happened.

Oh, Thank GOD.

Aleph looked at Kinzaki and Subaru. "How does it look?" Aleph asked.

Kinzaki smiled as she saw Aleph wearing the choker. "You look good, Serizawa-san," she said before she tapped her fingers on the table. "Well, I'll tell you this. Inside the choker is some kind of machination which allows us to observe your daily life, pick up your voice and those you're talking with, pinpoint your location thanks to the signal emitted by the choker which is picked up by the satellite, and most importantly, it packs quite an explosive which will activate if you do something that is not favorable by me and anyone else, and you'll lose your head if you do something stupid, Serizawa-san," she explained with a smile.

Subaru just cleared her throat before she told Aleph, "The last part is just a joke. There's no explosive or anything that may endanger your life," then, after a pause, she added, "Though you still need to watch your language and your attitude, Serizawa-san. Who knows what kind of hidden thing inside that choker?" she said, warning Aleph about the danger of the black choker.

"And another thing, once you put on the choker, you will not be able to take it off by any mean, or else it may enter its Security Mode, in which you may get yourself in a big trouble," Kinzaki explained, still smiling brightly. "I can take it off once you show a change of attitude and the way you carry yourself in society, though. So, the more you improve, the sooner the choker will be removed," she informed helpfully.

"So, is there any question?" Kinzaki asked.

Aleph listened as Kinzaki and her butler man explained the actual use of the choker.

.........what the fuck? Explosive?!

Oh, wait. Subaru said there's no explosive. But regardless, the fact that the Kirihara Corporation would now be tracking down Aleph's every single word along with peoples' responses made Aleph extremely uncomfortable.

So it IS a shock collar, after all. What a sadistic bitch.

I do not approve of this. No way they can be allowed to listen to EVERY conversation you have, especially your private, heart-to-heart chats with your girlfriend, Shizuka. Who, by the way, YOU SHOULD BE HAVING SEX WITH RIGHT NOW!

Aleph really, really, really, really hoped that the choker wasn't designed to read minds or brainwaves or anything like that. Because the things that Adonis says....well, they're not exactly charming. What made it worse was that Aleph now realize the things he will have to start doing as well as the things he will have to get rid of. Which his mind decided to express in the form of God-ish rules and commandments written in Elizabethan English.

Thou cannot lie.

Thou cannot showboat.

Thou cannot snark at the Goody-Two-Shoes vampire Kakeru.

Thou cannot talk dirty with girls using flower terminology.

Thou cannot get defensive or turn the truth against others.

Thou cannot threaten others without reasonable reasons to threaten others with.

Thou must be able to actually carry out said threats.

Thou cannot remove the choker.

Okay, maybe not Elizabethan English exactly. But still, all these rules Aleph had now become aware of made him even more uncomfortable.

This is bullshit. That bitch can't do this to you. That kind of shit belongs in the government. Or America.

Or maybe Soviet Russia.

But what if Kinzaki is working for the government? That sounds possible.

When they got to the end of the conversation, Aleph felt the choker lightly for a moment then looked at Kinzaki. "If it doesn't have explosives or anything then what is inside the choker thing?" Aleph said. "And what in the name of all that is holy is 'Security Mode'?"

Kinzaki smiled mysteriously. "There are things that are better left unknown, Serizawa-san," she said in her rather eerily cheerful voice. "Okay then, with the contract and choker being dealt with, the agreement is complete," she said, smiling. "Please do your best, Serizawa-san," she spoke to Aleph encouragingly.

"Serizawa-san, as a precaution, please hand me your phone," Subaru asked, demanding Aleph to hand her his cellphone. "I'd like to give you my number so we can easily monitor your progress," she also smiled to Aleph. "Please hang in there, Serizawa-san. The road to success is full with perils, but with determination and patience, I'm sure you can make it," she said.

"And... don't forget this," Kinzaki placed a card on her table. "This is your employee's card. Because of the contract, you're legally one of my workers now. With that card, you can gain access to several parts of the building, and you can also use it as a debit card," she informed the boy. "As a starter, I've given you about 10 000 yen in that account," she said, smiling cheerfully. "Use it well, alright?"

"You are too generous, Ojou-sama," Subaru deadpanned. "But if you have any financial trouble, please don't hesitate to call us..." she also smiled at the boy. "Good luck."

Aleph looked at Kinzaki as she and Subaru the Butler Man spoke. That answer didn't make him feel any more at ease with her about the choker. But Aleph guessed there was no use arguing with her about it now.

Aleph handed Subaru his cellphone. He figured it would be nice to have someone to talk to. Preferably, someone who didn't want to rip his head off for the Wolf Mask incident or any other Aleph-related incidents.

Aleph looked at the card. His own debit card and access to several parts of the building. How many parts was the building divided in itself? Oh, well. Plus, 10 000 yen didn't sound like a whole lot of money to Aleph for some reason. Oh, well. He could always put more in it. Not that he would ever use it anyway.

He'll just stick to his father's credit card. The man was about 37 years old. Who needs a savings account?

"Thank you. I will do my best, I promise you." Aleph said, bowing. "Umm, would you mind showing me the way out, please?"

This is gonna be awesome, working for Kinzaki. Money! Friends! Sex with Shizuka!

Are you just gonna keep nagging me and nagging me about this?

Well, why the hell not? You gotta make 3 friends, get 10 people to vouch for you on Bedlam, and Shizuka's moving away, so you pretty much have to make every last day with her count.

And you have to do it all within 25 days. Hmph. May heaven grant you fortune.

Kinzaki smiled. "Ah, about that..." she said. "Why don't you join us for a lunch?" she asked.

And Subaru nodded in agreement.

Aleph thought about it....eating lunch with creepy super nice rich girl and her butler man?

Uhh no. You have more important things to do. Like sex with Shizuka.

His Persona said no. His stomach on the other hand.....said yes.

Oh, up yours.

Aleph nodded and smiled. "Lunch sounds good." Aleph said.
