A certain red truck with two occupants parked in a clearing in the middle of the woods, just by Nagashima's shoreline. The driver, a blonde teenager clad in a light brown summer dress and a tan jacket to cover it, exited the vehicle, opening the door to the backseats to retrieve a few boxes, hoping her boyfriend would help her taking them out.

Machi was surprised when Shou, the day before, had offered to take her out on a real date, to make up for the disastrous one they went on some time prior. It truly had been horrible - it was a fake date to begin with, Shou overkilled it, Machi was highly uncomfortable with the situation, the boy got new scars and she got drunk, later waking up on her then best friend's room.

Of course, said boy wasn't even her friend anymore, a fact she wished wasn't true. Her rage had subsided for the most part, but the fact he was yet to apologize kept the flames of anger much alive.

However, that day wasn't one for fancy dinners or acts - Shou had decided on taking her to a picnic, in the site where her mom rests. One would say such a thing was quite morbid, but their words would die in their mouth upon seeing the view and serene atmosphere the locale had.

"Remember what happened last time we came here, Shou-kun?" Of course he did. It was the very reason they were together after all. But still, she found the need to engage on idle conversation as they carried the contents of their picnic through the forest.

Unknown to them, they were being followed by a boy whose mental state would drastically clash with the serenity of the place...

Shou Yoshida was all smiles.

The day before he had gotten a fantastic idea for a gift. He'd gotten here, hitchhiking of course, which to be honest, was much harder than simply stealing a car. But, a good present needed to be sincere, no foul play involved. He had searched for hours for shells from the ocean nearby then spent about another hour stringing them together into a necklace.

Then he asked her on another date.

This one though, he wasn't gonna overdo. It would be a nice, relaxing time. No stress, no worries. "Well I certainly remember falling asleep on the way." He let out a small laugh as he began to help her with the boxes. He, for once, was able to wear short sleeves. He was wearing a short sleeved blue v neck with dark jeans. No jackets this time, no long sleeves. It felt good to be free like this.

"I forgot how peaceful this place was." Shou looked on in awe as he carried the boxes.

Alan on the other hand was unaffected by the serenity of this place. Thanks to Whisp he had quickly traveled after the two. She had threatened to make his life hell for the next week by taking him over at random points and shouting inappropriate things. That or making him profess a false love to Taketo, which would probably make his stay at the boy's house rather awkward.

So here he was, silently walking through the small forest, wondering just what they were doing...oh..Why the hell hadn't he realized it was a date?

ALAN! APOLOGIZE NOW!

He couldn't just walk out there...It would be suicide, especially since he followed them there...He sighed and hid behind a tree, slowly sliding down it. This was stupid.

I'll make you ask Taketo for a threesome with Super cutie...Well I'd probably have to take over if he agreed but..ah...I might make you do that regardless...

Well he was caught between a rock and a hard place now wasn't he?

Within a couple minutes' walk, they were in the most precious location in the face of the Earth, at least in Machi's eyes. She took a deep breath, loving the smell of the sea and nature blending in to a perfect mix, before setting the box she was carrying down, opening it and retrieving a checkered picnic blanket, spreading it down on the grass.

"Ara, I wasn't aware my company was that boring to Shou-kun." She teased with a goofy smile, now taking care of various supplies such as napkins, cups and plates.

Once that was done, she focused on the utensils, obviously leaving the food and drink part for last. She had gone all out and cooked a paella for that special day, the wait would be worth it. "I honestly wasn't expecting you to take up on my offer that day." She laughed, remembering how honestly surprised she was once Shou popped up by her window later in the same day, covered in a blanket. It was rather adorable.

"I'm glad you did, though."

Shou followed along, silently stunned by all the beauty around him. Even though he had been there the day before, the beauty of this place astounded him every time.

"I guess you'll just never reach my level of spontaneousness." He laughed again as he placed down his own box and began to help her set everything. His life had gotten even more exciting ever since he'd met her. Although, he would like to avoid getting locked in a room with knives again...ugh.

Finally, after everything was set, Shou stretched slightly and sat down. He'd wait a bit, let them both get relaxed before he finally pulled out the necklace. He didn't want to rush this surprise after all. "To be honest I was actually nervous about going that day." A small smile appeared on his face. "I wasn't sure if you were just teasing or not. In the end, that nervousness ended up getting replaced by cold." He laughed again. "That blanket didn't do anything against the wind."

"But, I'm glad I decided to go as well."

Alan had been against the tree for awhile now. He hadn't moved, too afraid that if he did he would be spotted and promptly killed. What reason could he come up with as to why he was even there?

There was none.

For now, he was trapped, he would just have to wait it out...

"Not as spontaneous as you? Please." Machi laughed in good humor, now taking care of spreading the food and drink containers evenly along the cloth. "I doubt you were expecting to sleep with me the day you moved." There was no issue in being this intimate in speech during their date. It was not like they were being watched, right?

"I was just teasing, yes." She took some chopsticks after sitting down and opened one of the containers, it having a few sushi rolls. "Cold? Ara... I was certain it was replaced by warmth... Kannin na~" She teased with a wink, before popping a sushi roll into her mouth, idly chewing while gazing at the horizon.

She had the annoying feeling they were being watched, but that just couldn't be true. No one else knew of that location, after all...

Shou let out a small laugh at her example. "That had been a complete surprise." It had started with teasing and then they were suddenly in bed. Didn't it normally start with teasing? "It was a good thing Setsuna-san was out cold." He let out another laugh.

Alan heard bits and pieces of their conversation. What he heard made him want to bang his head against the tree he was hiding behind. They had slept together the FIRST day he'd moved in? He didn't even want to think about it.

I wonder how good he is?

Not now Whisp...

"It...definitely was." He smiled fondly as he remembered how warm she had been. It had actually lulled him to sleep...After a moment he grabbed chopsticks and quickly grabbed a sushi roll as well. They were starting to relax now. Just a little bit longer and he'd show her.

"A good thing? I was hoping she'd join." Of course, Machi was joking, but suppressed a laugh, merely having a suggestive smirk on her face. The perverseness was strong within her... 'Hah, good one.'

After finishing the first sushi roll, her smirk turned into a curious smile. "Why did you ask me out on such short notice?" She then raised a hand defensively. "Not that I mind, of course."

Shou let out a lighthearted laugh at the girl's tease. He was slowly getting used to her teasing. Maybe one day he'd finally win a teasing contest?...Yeah...no that would never happen. She was just too good at it.

At her question Shou hesitated slightly wondering if now was the best time to reveal his gift? After a minute the boy leaned forward and gave her a small kiss As he leaned back he pulled a small red box from his pocket. It had been a pain in the ass to fold it right for it to be able to fit, but it was the best hiding spot.

"Well. I know how much you love this place, but I also know you can't always be here." As hes poke he opened the lid and pulled the necklace out. "So, I thought I'd make this...You can take a piece of this place with you." He held it out slightly with a small smile on his face.

Alan saw the whole thing. And he was currently hitting his head against the tree. He just wanted to get out of here....

Nope, no one would ever beat Machi in a teasing contest. Ever. Tie, at most... but that was a privilege reserved to none other than Taketo Yoshimatsu.

Before she could take another sushi roll to her mouth, she was kissed instead... No complaints there, that tasted much better. She returned it on reflex, smiling widely afterwards...

...However, such a smile disappeared as soon as she saw a gift box in the boy's hands. She didn't like people wasting money on her. She usually had enough with her allowance, and as of recently a fund, to get whatever the hell she wanted. Speaking of which, she should invest in some Ruins equipment...

She carefully observed the box, quickly getting the idea of it being jewelry. At least that was the impression she got. It was red, like her eyes - she liked that color. For some reason, it put her at ease somewhat, despite the protests still raging in her mind.

Before she could even voice such things, however, he opened the box, effectively stunning her to silence.

Her hand slowly reached out for the necklace, her gaze stuck to it. She took in the sight of every small shell attached to it, presumably obtained from the beach area below the cliff... Her fingertips lightly ran across the heartfelt gift in wonder, a warm blush adorning her cheeks as she realized the full meaning of the gift. 'Mom...'

She didn't even hear the slight thuds against wood in the distance, such was the shock of receiving such a wonderful gift. She never had someone care so much for her in her entire life...

That moment, she became absolutely certain she had made the right choice when she got together with Shou. And somehow, some way, she'd repay the favor one day.

Shou simply waited, smiling towards the girl as she took out her present. He didn't even need to ask if she liked it. The blush on her cheeks told him everything he needed to know. Instead, he just stayed silent, letting her have a moment to recover.

Finally, Alan took a chance and took a peek at the two. He had gotten Machi a necklace of some sort. She looked...well stunned. He'd have to guess that it was the good kind of stunned. After a moment his eyes went to Shou...then he did a quick double take.

Scars...scars all lining his arms. Suddenly, the boy's reaction to his knife that day made sense....and he had stabbed him. With wide eyes he turned back to cover...Oh my God. It just made him feel even more guilty.
