"Why I wanted to be a teacher?" Shiki closed her eyes, thinking about it for a while before she came up with an answer. "I think it's because I like children, maybe..." she smiled slightly.

"Or maybe... it's a compensation for something..." she said before she sighed. "I'm not really sure..."

"Yeah, I can understand that. Well, the first part. You seem like a person who's very patient and kind. They often do well with kids."

But the that was just to the first part, the second part was…well, at bit tougher to comprehend. "Compensation? For what?" He had no idea what sort of thing was in Shiki's past. He was just assuming she was always the sweet, friendly teacher type.

"Well, to be honest..." Shiki sighed. "My childhood wasn't all rainbows and sunshine, you know?" she recalled the time when Kunagiri clan was still an existing ninja clan. It was a clan that propagated using inbreeding method, which meant that most of the members were the products of incestuous relationships. And Shiki's parents themselves were siblings.

But that wasn't really the problem here. The problem here was about the life of shinobi, where children were forced to learn on how to kill since they were able to walk. It wasn't a really good way of life.

"That's why I want to make sure that nothing like that would happen to the future generations..." Shiki said, smiling. "I want them to be happy, without being burdened by the harsh truth of the world. They'll eventually learn about the truth, but by making them happy, they don't have to learn such truth... prematurely..." she sighed.

"I see, I'm sorry if I brought up something you'd rather not think about." Everyone had skeletons in their closets. Some more so than others. He took her hand and lightly held it between his own.

"For what it's worth? You do a pretty good job. I get the feeling any kid under your care is going to be just fine. Hell ah…I ever have kids? If you're available then, I'd request especially that you're their teacher when the time comes. I could breathe easy knowing they'd be in good hands, and all."

In regards to the less cheery method she framed the world? He just shrugged his shoulders. "Hell, the world can be a pretty ugly place sometimes, yeah. That's hardly all there is to it. I mean, any place that people like you call home can't be all bad."

The irony of saying that to Shiki was of course, quite lost on Benkei. It was the honest truth as far as he knew, and he hoped it would make her feel better.

Shiki gave Benkei a gentle smile. "I guess you're right, Benkei-kun. I guess you're right..." she nodded. It was good that Shiki felt better after listening to him.

"By the way, are you working here?" Shiki asked.

"Hmm? Yeah, a bit of volunteer work, is all." He explains. "I'm interested in this field for a profession anyways, so why not try to get something of a feel for it early as possible, right? At least that's what I figured."

He adds. "I'm usually around three times a week? It's good to be able to help, but strictly speaking? I'm usually relegated to grunt work to free up nurses for more important stuff. Seems like the hospital's gotten more busy than ever lately."

Shiki was silent for a few seconds as she thought about something. "Benkei-kun, there's something I want to ask you..." she knew that this was risky, but she hoped that she was right. "Are you a Persona-user?" she asked.

"Hmmm?" He sat up from his relaxed posture, and his smile faltered a bit. The word wasn't just a random phrase to him, that was sure.

"Yeah, actually I am. I take it you are too?" As far as he knew, the half-informed third parties called them 'magic people.' So that was a good clue she probably was. "Yeah, a few months ago got butterflied. What about you, Miss Kunagiri?"

"I don't remember..." Shiki answered. "Maybe a couple of months ago, or maybe last month? I'm not really sure..." she added before she sighed. "So, maybe I can use this, right?" she said before she cast Dia onto herself. She didn't want to use it before because she might cause some misunderstanding. But since he's a Persona-user, there's no need for her to worry.

"Ah..." while the healing spell did give her a little comfort, it wasn't enough to fully heal her wounds. "I guess I need to wait until I'm fully recovered..." she said.

"I see." He nods. "Wish I could help, by my persona's really not the healing magic type."

The fact that he wanted to be a doctor and couldn't use Dia was… perhaps a bit ironic. But hey! "Just don't overdo it. At least not all at once" He cautioned. Even if unprecedented recoveries were not unheard of there, if someone walked out the same day they were mangled that'd leave Shiki with some unfortunate questions to answer, wouldn't it?
