Minori nodded at what Toru said. "Yes, yes. I know I won't just be able to pick up a gun and treat it like my crossbow." She said. Crossbows were... Quite different to guns. Recoil, namely. She'd have to get used to that or she'd end up hurting herself more then Shadows. She understood that some were heavier too, depending on the type, which would effect her accuracy by a lot... She needed to do some research. Finding something that would work best with her would be easier that way. She looked up at Toru when he asked how she was. "I'm... Better, I suppose you could say. After we met I slept for about a day, so I managed to catch up with all the sleep I missed. Since then I've been keeping my sleep patterns... More regular." She still wasn't getting the optimal amount for a normal human, she still had trouble getting herself to sleep. "I guessed I couldn't help anyone much if I was practically dead from sleep deprivation..." She looked up at Toru. "Thank you. I can't remember if I thanked you back then, so I suppose I better do so now. Motou-san you've helped me quite a bit, so if you need any help please don't refrain from asking me. I'll do whatever I can." She sighed to herself, looking out the window. "It's hard sleeping still. I always found it hard to sleep when there was something on my mind, and now I've got much to worry about. Ma'at hasn't exactly been helpful in that respect..." She trailed off, before shaking her head and looking back at Toru. "It's odd. I thought we would get on fairly well when I first... Aquired her, then all these things happened and now? I'd rather she just go away. I'd rather all this Persona, this Shadow, this whole ruins bullshit would just go away. But it won't, of course. And I can't just walk away." |

Toru nodded slowly. "A Persona-user awakens to a Persona and over time the gulf between that personality aspect and their current mindset may close or it may grow. I know a bit of what it's like to have a Persona of a different... mind on matters, than I myself am. Mine has... pressured me, on occasion. To eliminate those it considers untrustworthy, I believe. A merciless angel of righteous fury, perhaps." The journalist opened his eyes, looking to Minori with a slightly apologetic look. "I believe that the key is resolution. One can change, and one may grow, but if one remains undecided, the Persona remains as it is, an immovable aspect of who we are. If we and our Personas cannot coexist, we need to understand the root cause and 'resolve' to change it... 'Ascension,' as it is called. Otherwise we will be stuck in constant conflict within our own minds whenever those root issues come up." Tilting his head back, the journalist finished softly: "That is, I believe, what happened to Kyomu-san in the park that day. She was growing, changing, but not... resolved." Toru paused, and then said in a slightly more cheerful voice, "It's good to know that you're doing better now, at any rate. Don't worry about repaying the favor. It was really only a few seconds to transfer a file and a five-hundred-yen keychain flash drive, in any case." He smiled a bit, and then shrugged. "I wouldn't say no if you would accompany me into the ruins when you're on your feet again. I have my own companions, but our schedules do not often allow us to train together." |

"Regardless of whether or not it was much effort on your part, Motou-san, if you had not done anything, hadn't been there, then I would still be in that state. Hell, I could've ended up going to the ruins like that. What would've happened then? If I barely survived the last encounter when I was rested, what if it had been otherwise? We both know." She paused, breathing in and out for a moment. "So, Motou-san, I do owe you." She nodded. "On that note, of course I'll accompany you into the ruins whenever I can. For now I'm free most of the time, as I'm living with my parents for some time now. This is a... Hard time for my family, as I'm sure you'll understand, so I'm helping them until things are better. At least until Kyomu's back, but probably more depending on her state..." She sighed. "I can't imagine she'll be alright after all of this, she'll need as much support as I can give her. I'll make up for my mistakes before." Minori paused for some time, apparently deep in thought. She was thinking about her siblings, especially Kyomu. How it was her responsibility to look after them when they were growing up, more so then her parents. That made it her fault, more then anyone else's, that it happened to Kyomu. Shaking her head of those thoughts she turned to Toru. "... Do you think it'll be over soon? All of this... Shit. I can't imagine what terrible things could happen if it goes on for too long." The journalist acknowledged Minori's thanks with a humble nod, and fell silent as she continued to speak. Toru's expression took on a grim edge when she asked if he thought it would be over soon, and he could only shake his head. "As long as the Reaper bars the way, most certainly not," he said. "So long as the Persona-user community remains divided over petty grievances and disagreements, as well, then even should the upcoming mission to exterminate the Reaper succeed, I doubt we will have what it takes to stand against our enemies. And even should we plumb the depths of that place, there is no guarantee that it is possible to stop the butterfly in the first place." The man rubbed at his eyes irritably. "...I have reason to believe that this hasn't even been the first major incident related to Personas or Shadows, either," he said quietly. "I spent a good deal of time investigating paranormal cases, or rather cases that seemed to be paranormal, and two of them show signs of potential Persona involvement at the very least. The troubling thing about Nagashima isn't that it involves Personas and Shadows, but that Persona is spreading like a disease. Every new Persona-user is one more risk that events will spiral out of control again, or that the power or knowledge will land itself into the wrong hands... or that an idiot will gain them and risk everything with his foolishness." Toru was referring, in this case, to Akira "Aleph" Serizawa, although whether or not Minori had kept up with Bedlam well enough to catch wind of his escapades was another matter. "All I know," Toru said, "is that if we fail to get our act together above the surface, delving into the ruins and defeating the enemy that lurks within will be all the more difficult. Members of the community are making some fine efforts to help in that regard, but we are far from unified." |

"... So what you're saying is that, as far as things are going, it might never end. And even if things end here it could just happen again? This is... Bullshit!" Minori shouted, though she winced right after. Raising her voice too loud hurt, a lot, but she couldn't help it. The thought of it all pissed her off, the idea that what happened to Kyomu could happen again. That kids could end up trapped in the ruins, or somewhere like the ruins, die and she wouldn't be able to do shit about it. "Whoever started this... Shadows, Personas, all of it... I hope that they're still alive. So I can find them and make them pay. Make them suffer. Nothing I could ever do would make it equal, make them fully pay... But I'll try my damned hardest!" Minori winced in pain again. She didn't even realize that Ma'at's voice was seeping out of her own. "I'll make them beg, and when they do I'll just keep going until they can't take the pain anymore. Then I'll try and revive them, and do it all over again." Minori's breathing was heavy, her body shaking with rage. She did her best to calm down, but it wasn't exactly working well. She kept breathing. In and out. In and out. In and out. Slowly she cooled down, but not completely. "... I just hope I get that chance. Until then, I'll do my best to try and make things better for now. Even if it could be called futile, it's better then doing nothing." |

Toru observed with some concern as his ears detected that telltale change in Minori's voice, the sign that her Persona's influence was leaking through. The woman's rage was understandable, he thought; as far as she was concerned (and he couldn't even say she was wrong about this), all of the blame for Kyomu Monto's descent into madness and the tragedy at the park were laid squarely on the shoulders of the architects of the ruins. Closing his eyes, Toru shook his head. "Persona and Shadow are, I believe, simply a part of the world we live in," he said quietly. "I do not believe there is anyone to blame for those, save perhaps whatever deity may or may not have decided human consciousness should be linked, or that the psyche should give rise to power. The ruins themselves? We know only that Ms. Yellow yet lives, and that she is far beyond any of us. If there is a human organization or any living individuals aboveground connected to the experiments that went on there, we may yet learn of it. That said..." He opened his eyes, fixing Minori with a stern look. "...I recommend you master that particular impulse," he warned. "It would not do to lose your composure the moment you're faced with one of the entities behind this crisis. And more importantly... you need to watch your step up here, as well." Toru tapped at his own forehead, giving the woman a significant look. "...We are all susceptible. You, me, your sister, all of us." The man let his hand drop and hooked his thumb on his pants pocket, turning his face to the window. "I agree with you on that last point, however," he said quietly. "Even if it's futile--" (I don't care if the world is hopeless, I don't want to end yet! I want to live, I tell you! All of you are insane!) "--all we can do is what we can. And if we can do anything at all, then it's worth trying." |

"Sometimes... Being angry helps." Minori stated, darkly. "If a Persona is a part of me, fueled my my feelings, then by that theory strong emotions make it stronger by extension. If I can harness that against one of those powerful entities then surely that boost of strength would make things easier. That's what I think. I hate Personae, but if I can use them to get what I want... I can accept them for now. I'm will do anything that I possibly can to get what I want." Minori breathed slowly, calming down even more as she did. "If we can do anything about it, we do everything. Especially with something like this when there are people are at stake, to do anything less would be wrong." Minori paused for a few moments before speaking again. "Unless there's anything you wish to speak about, Motou-san, I'd like to use some of this time to get some sleep. It might help me to recover faster. Oh, my Bedlam username is JudgementFeather by the way." |

Anger to gain power...? That didn't sound like a wise line of reasoning to follow, from Toru's perspective, but to be honest, he didn't really know. He knew that emotion had to play into it somehow... the Fusion Spells that those with close emotional ties to one another could pull off were proof of that, at least, but whether or not that factored in the way Minori suggested was a question mark at this point. There was so much about Persona that they just didn't know yet... "If that is how you wish to play it... far be it from me to say otherwise," Toru said. He bowed his head slightly and added, "My screen name is 'GunsNRoses.' I shall take my leave, then... rest well, Minori-san. Until we meet again..." The journalist turned on his heel headed for the door, pausing for just a moment to glance back before stepping through it. To say that Toru was worried would have been true, but it was also true that he was curious. Could Minori be right about strong emotions strengthening one's Persona? Toru had to wonder... perhaps he was limiting himself by being so conflicted... |
