Minori sat in her hospital bed, not happy at all with being in her position right now. While she totally understood why she was here, being directly attacked by monsters wasn't exactly something you should shrug off, she would be much happier being out and doing something. More research, more going into the ruins, more training...

Well, before any of that she would need a new weapon. She had unfortunately lost her Crossbow in the ruins when she was attacked, in fact she was sure it broke when she tried to defend herself with it. Honestly, though, she needed to get a new weapon anyway. Something with more power, yet still ranged. Isoroku had a handgun... Would that work for her? ... How did that girl get one anyway?

She'd figure it out. For now she could only wait...

"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"
The door slid open, halfway, and at the same time, there was a knock. If Minori were to look, she would see perhaps a familiar face; familiar, that is, if lack of sleep at the time hadn't hindered her brain's ability to remember it. A low voice, nonetheless loud enough to be audible, heralded his entrance:

"...I hope I'm not intruding, Monto-san..."

Toru Motou slipped into the room, closing the door behind him. He seemed to be entering without permission--seemed to be, that is, until he made no move to enter further. Closing the door had simply been a means to keep anyone outside from overhearing anything that might be said; the last time Toru and Minori had spoken, her regard for how public the location was had been... lacking.

He was dressed, as he always was when outside of the ruins and not actively trying to make himself less noticible, in his fine, professional clothes, his silvery hair in a curtain at his back. The overhead lights glinted rather brightly off his well-shined shoes, almost as if the damned things were calling attention to themselves. He gave the woman a faint smile and nodded in greeting.

"My name is Toru Motou, since we have not been formally introduced. You are Minori Monto, do I have that right?" he asked. He remained still by the door, as though silently requesting either leave to "enter" or for Minori to express her desire that he leave.

Minori's head turned to the door, quickly scanning whoever it was that came in with her eyes. At first she thought she had never seen him before, but after a moment it began to click in her head. She had seen him before. Not too long ago, really. It was... When was it... The time when she...

When he introduced himself she finally fully grasped who this man was. It was the one who had given the copy of the interview to her. She smiled weakly, not close to being fully recovered yet. "Yes, yes... Minori nodded, before beckoning Toru to come closer. He voice was somewhat quiet. Please, don't feel you have to stand there. Enter. It'd be easier on me."

She paused for a moment before speaking again. "What is it that you want of me, Motou-san?"

"Nothing specific," the journalist (the employed one, that is) said as he moved away from the door. "I merely heard you had been injured, and was concerned. But you seem to be doing well enough, all things considered..."

Toru walked toward the bed, one hand in his left pocket, casually playing with a bit of spare change. He stopped at the side, and frowned, realizing that Minori might need some explanation as to how he had heard. "I have a few contacts in the nursing staff, and one of the part-time janitors happens to be a friend of mine. So I usually hear about injuries or developments here related to the cases I take on. I had asked to be alerted if your sister should turn up here, but apparently my contact only remembered the family name."

He shrugged lightly and and smiled a bit dryly.

"Quality help," he quipped. "Not that I'm complaining... if I may ask, what happened? I only know that you were brought in, not the circumstances behind it."

Minori nodded as Toru spoke, understanding his explanation. Contacts... She needed to get some of those, especially when she finally got work. Though that'd have to wait until everything was sorted. Kyomu, the Ruins... She had to know the truth, after all. She couldn't just walk away from it, even if she couldn't spread what she found. She wouldn't be lying, just holding back the truth.

... Then it hit her. Her parents would ask about this, what would she tell them? ... She settled that she would tell them that she had been attacked. It wasn't a lie, really.

However back in the real world she told Toru what had really happened. "Probably what you expect, I got on the wrong end of a Shadow's attack. I managed to take one attack of theirs, but then they used water and... I'm weak to water, apparently." She chuckled to herself. "Washing is a pain." She had actually taken to dry-washing herself. It wasn't as good as a nice shower or bath, it took longer for one, but it got the job done.

She paused. "... To think there are kids roaming there freely. Makes my skin crawl."

"Mm..." was Toru's initial response, an inarticulate hum of agreement. He grinned a slightly bitter grin, tilting his head back to look to the ceiling. "When I awakened," he said after a moment, "the ones who assisted me were both high school students. They are also, to this day, far more powerful and experienced at fighting supernatural apparitions than I am. It's vexing to think of this burden has having been thrust on teenagers, of all people. Worse yet, I know of at least two middle school students who were taken by the butterfly; it's probable there are more. One of my comrades patrols the ruins for new users regularly... she's found more than one young victim that no one was there to save."

The journalist sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I understand the logic of it, considering the nature of Persona..." he went on in a frustrated tone. "Teenagers are at the stage in their lives where they're most conflicted about who they are or who they want to become. It's easily the most 'fertile' time as far as human minds producing Shadows or the potential for awakening to a Persona. At least, if my theories are anywhere near the mark."

He shook his head.

"By that same token, also the most vulnerable time for many," he sighed. "Nearly every Persona-user I've ever met is troubled in some way or other, even the ones who seem utterly stable and have amicable relationships with their Personas." Toru tilted his head slightly. "Weak to water. Is that really possible? I imagine that would be irritating. I'm weak to darkness, although... I don't believe simple lack of light counts as that. I don't have any less trouble getting to sleep without a nightlight, for example..."

Minori nodded again. "Yes, I too was saved by three teenagers. They couldn't have been older then Sixteen, though I suspect they were Fifteen..." She sighed again. "Regardless of whether or not it's logical, it still sickens me. I wonder if Personae are really any better then the Shadows, with what they can do to people. My sister, after all..." Minori trailed off, closing her eyes for a moment before facing Toru. "I want to end this as soon as possible, so nothing like that happens again."

"And yes, unfortunately it is. Life becomes so much more difficult with it, rain is especially painful." Minori smiled lightly again. "I can only imagine being weak to physical, which I believe is possible. That would make things even more difficult then what I have, I feel sorry for those who do have it..." She trailed off again, her mind drifting to other thoughts.

"Motou-san, you have... Contacts, yes?" She asked, staring the man in the eyes. She might as well try and complete one of her objectives here and now, considering he was here. "I was wondering, do you know of anywhere I could purchase..." Minori lowered her voice to be even quieter then what it was, almost a whisper, but just about loud enough for the senior journalist to hear. "Guns." She raised her voice to normal again. "I lost my old weapon in that place, and I needed to upgrade already. It wasn't very practical..."

"...One might say that Persona and Shadow are one and the same, actually, or at least they are by all appearances," Toru said, and then with a shrug of his shoulders: "At least, that is the theory I'm most taken with, one first brought up to me by Manabu Kaerunuma, to give credit where it's due. Control of one's Shadow--Persona--and the Shadow, suppressed but untamed... psychologically, I believe it makes sense. But, I could go on about that until the cows come home and it would do neither of us any good."

The man frowned, then, considering Minori's question. Guns... firearms. They were indeed something he could procure, but...

"...Yes, I know a man in Tokyo who crafts handguns. Not a particularly honest merchant," he said dubiously, "but reasonable enough that he's willing to work with me in exchange for some assistance I gave him last year. My own weapon was custom-made by him, in fact. I can call in an order, but it might take some time. And it certainly isn't cheap, at that."

Toru folded his arms over his chest, resting his elbow in one hand as he tapped thoughtfully at his chin, considering Minori carefully. "I do not usually play distributor, but the matter of the ruins does change the rules somewhat," he admitted with a certain degree of discomfort. "If you can provide the funds, I'll see what I can do. It will take time to re-stock on ammunition, however."

"I care not for where the gun comes from, Motou-san. Only that it is in my possesion." Minori said, before sighing. Ma'at did not approve of that statement, Ma'at didn't approve of anything to do with the current topic. It was incredibly annoying, and Minori wished she had a proper method of shutting her up. Her life would be so much easier if that was at all possible.

"I can get all the money that's needed, just say a number and I'll get it. The Monto family is... Not exactly poor." Minori smiled for a moment, looking at her lap for a few moments. It was only when she left home that she really understood how well off she was. Sure she had known 'less fortunate' people, as she reffered to them, in Nagashima, she attended Taiyoutono after all, but she never really understood.

"I assume that whenever I need more ammunition I'll have to go through you? Unless, that is, you can guide me to someone who can provide me it." She said as she looked back up at Toru.

"Unfortunately I don't know any other ammo sources," sighed Toru, shaking his head. "My advice would be to request more ammunition well before you actually need it... always keep a surplus. If money isn't an issue, that should not be a problem. I haven't been able to locate any dealers in firearms in this city that I would advise... associating with."

The journalist shook his head and then shrugged.

"In any event," he said, "I'll determine a good starting weapon and get one to you as soon as I can. It's important to balance ammunition capacity, stopping power, and... recoil. You will also want to practice before actually using it. The training center in the backstreets is a good place for that--nice and private, at least from non-Persona-users."

Toru tilted his head back and closed his eyes.

"We can discuss the specifics of what weapon I order for you via Bedlam," he said. "I don't think it's wise to continue this conversation overlong where someone might overhear." There was a pause, after which Toru asked: "If you don't mind my asking, how are you doing, Minori-san? Apart from the injury, I mean. The last time we met you were obviously under quite a lot of stress. You should remember to take care of yourself, you know. You're only going to make things harder if you're sleep-deprived when the time to act rolls around."
