Machi playfully stuck her tongue out at Shou, and winked at him, knowing she indeed had won. She just had to add insult to injury first, of course.

"Pants?" Machi asked as a devilish smirk appeared on her lips. "I don't think either of us would be wearing pants. Or anything else, for that matter~" She contained the urge to giggle. Fortunately, her teasing skills had not been damaged by the accident.

Speaking of which, she was fortunate the bed had a railing by its side. She was gripping it quite tightly, while enduring the intense pain.

God she's cute.

Shou thought rather fondly as she playfully stuck her tongue out.

Ugh

Still, she had decided to make it even worse. Shou had his face for a moment as she continued to tease Hanako. Honestly it was hard NOT to picture such a thing.

stoppicturingitstoppicturingitstoppicturingit!

Alan quickly shook his head, he hadn't really expected that one. Aside from the prank, he had never seen Machi tease a girl like that. Hell, even Alan had to hide his face for a moment.

After he finally recovered, Shou, again, noticed how much pain Machi was in. Sometimes, taking in all the details wasn't all it was cracked up to be...Still, if he could see how hard she was grabbing the rail then...After a moment, he gently placed a hand on hers, effectively covering it from prying eyes. His eyes tried to find hers for a moment as he nodded. He understood not wanting people to worry. He knew even more about using pain to get away from things...He would let her get away with it this time, but if she went to far with it...

After another moment passed Shou grinned. "Looks like you at least got a double kill with that last tease." He laughed using his other hand to point at himself and Alan.

She was already going off a mile a minute in her mind when Machi started that statement. Murmuring to herself.

"Well, that's okay, I look better in dresses and skir-"

Ohhhh! Thats' what she meant! Actually now? Hanako had to laugh, if only because she was remembering quite well what happened last time she was naked in front of Machi.

"Oh, please! I don't think you'd survive very long in that situation Machi-san!"

Seriously, did human beings really have that much blood in them? That was like something out of a violent anime involving ninjas, or something!

Of course, there was no way she could lose. "You'd be surprised with what I can handle, Hana-chan. Care to find out~?" 'This is too easy.'

'Hilarious, too.'

Machi instinctively inhaled sharply as soon as a hand was placed over hers, her heart skipping a beat, not paying particular attention to Shou's comment. There was that gentleness again. That gentleness that completely overwhelmed her.

Her cheeks became a tad red for the third time in that afternoon, as she unwillingly surrendered herself to it. 'Damn it, Shou.' Her thumb raised up ever so slightly to brush against the back of his hand, and her grip loosened, finding it easier to endure the pain. Her eyes wouldn't leave their joined hands.

'Damn it all.'

She was loosening her grip...

Ha Shou really helped her? He smiled as her thumb slightly tickled his hand. He had, hell he could see it clear as day, he could feel her grip relaxing slightly.

Damn kid...Did you suddenly learn Dia while I wasn't looking? Jack chuckled slightly.

Shit, he chuckled, no annoying ass cackling...It was a nice change.

Shou didn't really say anything for a moment, he was focused on Machi, who was focused on their hands

Alan, on the other hand managed to quickly tear his eyes away. He was done, he really had to be. He was leaving soon and Shou...the guy cared about her so much. Alan couldn't hate him, as much as he wanted to, Shou was a nice guy all around.

Goddamn it, Shou

After a moment, Alan spoke up again. "I am with Hanako-san on this one." His mind immediately shot back to the hot springs. They were friends, he would just have to accept that...

Do you even believe that?

Alan certainly hoped so...

She laughs and puts up her hands.

"Okay! I surrender! I surrender!"

Trying to tease Machi was like trying to get into a fist fight with Ayane-sensei. Only twice as likely to end with her on the ground for an entirely different reason. But jokes aside, she couldn't help but notice Machi's condition, and if not that? Shou's reaction.

She wasn't about to just stand around and allow this further. She couldn't.

"Shou…" She carefully began. "What do you know about well, alternative ways of treating injuries?"

She watched carefully for his reaction. If she liked it? She wouldn't hesitate for a second to do what she could for Machi-san with a Dia spell. (Hanako's Note to self: Don't call Machi 'Machi-chan' anymore unless she's prepared for a barrage of innuendos and teasing!)

Machi's 'focus' was broken by Hanako's question, to which she quickly shook her head.

"I don't think that's... advisable, Hanako-san, as they'll probably make me go through another round of testing before releasing me." She smiled, however, in appreciation to the girl's idea. By then, she had dropped the teasing nickname. "If you don't mind though, I'd like some help tomorrow. I don't think I can pull this off on my own."

She then glanced at Shou, knowing the main reason why she was asking that. Her following phrase felt somewhat redundant to her. "And yes, he knows. But there's not much we can do until I get out of here." That would surely erase doubt about him being a persona user.

UGGGHH this sucked. Shou wished they could just heal Machi now and be done with this. Putting anyone through unnecessary pain was stupid to him.

Just remember, she asked for it.

Yeah she did, didn't make it any easier. Still, he put on a smile when Machi glanced at him. He was here for her now, helping her through this, that's what mattered right? "Sorry we can't do more." He said what almost everyone in the room was thinking.

He slowly nodded as Machi explained his knowledge of "other methods of healing" So they were all Persona users here. He was practically tripping over them now.

Meanwhile Alan leaned back against the wall. He wasn't too keen on seeing Machi in pain as well. Hell, none of them were, but, they would just have to deal with it until tomorrow. "Well, if you need anything during the night, you can give any of us a call." He let out a laugh. "Hanako-san is a ninja waitress now, I am sure she can sneak in after visiting hours are over." He had to be honest, he loved his new job.

"Ninja...waitress?"

"i see." She sighed, and slowly nodded. She didn't like to see her friends in pain, but she had a point. Besides, if Machi could endure it? She certainly could. At the prospect of doing something tomorrow, she perked up a bit.

"Sure! It's not that bad! So if the two of us work at it? I'm sure a dozen Dia's or so will have you back up on your feet! Though, you might have to like, pretend to be hurt for a while to match like, medical records, and stuff."

This was different from Chika. She'd offered the girl the same thing, and she turned her down, quite flatly. At least she didn't feel terribly guilty about putting Machi in the hospital.

"So, we're all Persona users, huh? That butterfly's really busy, isn't he?"

She didn't really care for butterflies. Except for Monarch Butterflies. Their steady diet of milkweed during their larval stage of life made them toxic to eat.

"Yes, I plan on doing that. I'll acquire a wheelchair to move around, and perhaps request someone to escort me for at least a week." Apparently, she had thought it through during the visit. "I'll need help getting home tomorrow too, it's not like I can guide the chair by myself, acting or no acting..." She remembered she'd only heal herself once at home, thus facilitating an exit wouldn't be possible.

Machi instinctively shook her head at the apology, earning herself another wince. Her thumb then slightly squeezed at Shou's hand, hoping he'd lean back down again.

"Can you stay for a little while after they leave? We need to... talk." A slight hint of fear could be heard in her lowered tone, as she thought back to her chart. How had he taken the news? Was he just being polite enough not to leave her in front of her friends? Her eyes became somewhat hooded, and she suppressed a sigh.

Hah, say your prayers. It's over.

The grip on the railing tightened immensely instantly, and her eyes flashed yellow for a split second as soon as her shadow returned, despite all the pain. Maybe the flash would go unnoticed, as her eyes were droopy? She rolled them reflexively, hatred for her other self starting to fuel her a little.

"Oh, come on..."
