Isoroku just listened to them. It's not like she could help much because she wasn't even there when Natsumi was abducted by that someone. As they talked, she was thinking what to do if she could find the one who was responsible for this.

The red-haired girl did notice Natsumi's momentary distraction, but she wasn't about to call attention to it, especially not with Isoroku in the room. She focused on the other girl instead.

Chika bit the inside of her lip, wondering if she should actually ask. It was one thing to put herself in the line of fire, quite another to ask someone else to do it for you. But Isoroku had helped her this far, right? At this point, Chika didn't really have much choice...

"Isoroku-san," Chika said, "it might be askin' a bit much, but... could ya look out for Natsumi while I'm on the mend? I-I mean I'll understand if ya don't wanna," she added abruptly. "Ya don't really know her and ya barely know me, but there's no one else I can ask, y'know? Ayane-san'll help, but I mean, she's got the backstreets and other stuff to deal with. I mean--can ya go with her when she needs t' go places, stuff like that? So no one can catch her on her own."

It was a sensible request to make of Isoroku in particular, at least, because she was also in the same class as Chika and Natsumi. She would only have to go about as far out of her way as Chika already did, something that could not be said for the likes of Rei Takeda or Ayane Hitomi.

Natsumi hadn't dared to make the request herself, but she was relieved when she heard Chika ask Isoroku to look after her - yeah, it would definitely help her, even if the matter was a bit more complicated than that.

"I-I won't feel angry or betrayed if you don't accept. Damn, we only met five minutes ago, so it would only be normal to refuse... and besides, I don't think my parents would be willing to let me go out with somebody they don't know of Adam. It's not like I can tell them that you got magical powers." Natsumi said, looking at Isoroku in the eye.

"I'll do it," Isoroku nodded without hesitation. "If it's Chika-san's request, then I'll do it..." she looked and smiled at Natsumi. "And don't worry about that, Natsumi-san. I believe that I can manage that somehow..." she said gently.

Chika nodded slightly. "Thanks, Isoroku-san," she said softly. "I knew I could trust ya with this..."

...She is one of Kyo's friends, after all...

She had seen as much on Bedlam, some time after meeting with Isoroku at the shopping center. Kyo and Isoroku had gone to fight Toru Watanabe together... if Isoroku was strong enough to stand up to other Persona-users...

...she would be strong enough to keep Natsumi safe. Yes. She would. She had to be.

"Natsumi-san, if I can," Chika added, "I'll put in a word with your mom so she knows Isoroku's a friend o' mine. You think that'd work...?"

"Thanks, Isoroku-san. Really, thanks." Natsumi replied, nodding along with Chika. Isoroku looked pretty confident in her abilities, and Chika's own trust in the kindly-looking girl achieved to convince Natsumi that, yes, she had taken the right decision. Natsumi nodded again.

"Uh, yeah, you can try... but as I said, I dunno if she'll approve of the plan. I mean, it's not like I can blame her... I think I'd want to take my daughter home myself with a car rather than entrusting her safety to an unknown girl like you. But you can try." she replied, peeking through the door. "Mom ? My friend wants to tell you something."

Five seconds later, a middle-aged woman walked into the room - appearance-wise, she was shockingly similar to an older, black-haired, grey-eyed Natsumi. "Good afternoon." she greeted, crossing her arms over her chest and giving the bedridden girl a neutral, somewhat curious look.

Isoroku was a little nervous when Natsumi's mother entered the room. "G-good afternoon, ma'am," Isoroku bowed and greeted the woman. She couldn't hide her anxiousness in her words as she spoke. "U-umm... m-my name is Isoroku Mayoi, and I am Natsumi-san's friend. P-pleased to meet you, m-ma'am..." she said. Despite her nervousness, she tried her best to remain polite.

Chika didn't outwardly react, but a touch of apprehension gripped her at Isoroku's reaction. She hoped Isoroku's shyness wouldn't count against them...

"Aizawa-san," Chika said quietly. "I'm sorry for bein' a bother, but it looks like I won't be much help to Natsumi-san for a while."

She gestured toward the short-haired girl.

"I know ya don't know her, but Isoroku's a classmate of ours," she said. "She's actually the one who helped me when I fell. I was hopin' she could do what I've been doin', at least 'til I'm all healed up. T' tell the truth, she'd actually be better at it... she's a lot tougher than me, see."

Natsumi's mother glanced at the three girls - her gaze lingered a little longer on her daughter, and then she looked back at Chika. "It's not a problem, Nakadachi-san." she said, "You've done enough for my daughter already."

She focused her gaze back on Isoroku, studying the short-haired girl from head to toe. "Delighted to meet you, Mayoi-san." she greeted, somewhat surprised by the girl's anxiousness. She had never heard of Isoroku before, and in all honesty, she didn't look that "tough".

"Nakadachi-san... we barely accepted to let Natsumi walk back home alone with you despite the threat of kidnapping over her head because she seemed to trust you. It wasn't the absolute safest option, but we let her take it because it wouldn't be healthy if every instant of her life was defined by that threat." she started, looking at Chika, arms still folded over her chest. "I'm sorry, Mayoi-san, but I don't know you... I'm not sure if I'd be ready to entrust Natsumi's safety to you." she added, unfolding her arms and putting her hand on Natsumi's shoulder.

"I... I see..." Isoroku muttered weakly when Natsumi's mother told her that she didn't trust her enough to entrust her daughter's safety to her. She really wanted to prove herself to that woman that she could do it. After all, she believed that she was strong enough to protect anyone around her. A few seconds after looking down, she looked at Chika and then at Natsumi before she turned to look at Natsumi's mother.

"U-umm... i-is there anything that I can do to prove myself that I can protect your daughter?" Isoroku asked. She thought that her nervousness might the the reason for Natsumi's mother to not trust in her ability, so she tried to look confident. "M-maybe I don't look that tough, but believe me," she nodded. "I believe that I can do it..."
