"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"

Chika nodded in agreement, zero hesitation, zero argument. The world was rotten, wretched... "A--friend o' mine," Chika said quietly, "was almost kidnapped the other day. And another--friend--" (she said the word haltingly, and with a small amount of derision) "--keeps... getting hurt. Serial killer tried t' off her in the ruins. Someone hit her with a--car--and--she was on that Toru Watanabe's list a while back. I just--I know the world's a bad place. But it seems like a lotta people still live pretty happy lives, don't they?" She looked down at the book in her hand, not really seeing it or registering the title. She gritted her teeth bitterly. "S-So why's all this keep happenin' to the people I care about, huh?" she whispered. "Why can't any of 'em just, have normal, happy lives? It's just--never mind." Abruptly, it was as though something had shut off. Her eyes slid back into focus and her expression went flat, zombie-like. "...Forget I said anythin'," she said, looking at the title. "Cirque Du Freak, eh..." she murmured, turning the book over to read the summary on the back. |

"Ah, about that book..." Isoroku looked at the copy of Cirque Du Freak. "Well, the main character's name is Darren Shan and apparently, the author decided to use the name of the main character as his pen name," she informed. "It's quite interesting, if a bit cliched. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, Chika-san..." |

Natsumi was strolling through the hospital's hallways, searching for Chika's room - while the abduction attempt had forced the girl to change her habits, she still gave the newspapers a quick read and hadn't failed to recognize Chika on a certain picture, related to a strange case of extreme serial douchebaggery. Her mother was following her - while she had agreed to the visit, she was adamant in her will to come along. Not that Natsumi blamed her: it was a normal, healthy reaction to the situation at hand, the reaction you could expect from a responsible, caring parent. She doubted that her mother's presence would make the kidnappers hesitate, but, well, they were in Matechi Street, a very relatively safe area of the city. She stopped before a door - if the hospital staff hadn't misled her, that was Chika's bedroom. She could hear voices coming from behind the door, one belonging to Chika and the other belonging to an unknown girl. They weretalking about... a book, apparently ? Natsumi knocked on the door. "Chika-san ?" she called, giving her mother a quick glance - the middle-aged woman nodded. |

Chika nodded slightly at Isoroku's brief recommendation. At the same moment, a knock came at the door, and a voice answered. The redhead blinked in surprised. "...Natsumi-san?" she said, her surprise even more obvious this time. While Isoroku had known about the incident, she hadn't expected Natsumi to find out about it. She must have seen it in the news... "P-Please, come in. I didn't expect--ya can come in, the door's open." --- [OOC: Gonna change the order to Me --> GKG --> Prince here, mostly because there isn't much for Prince to respond to until Natsumi enters the room, so... yeah. G goes next, and then Prince, and we'll take it from there.] Edited by The One True Nobody, Feb 21 2013, 03:09 AM.

Natsumi walked into the room, a red cap in her right hand: her hair wasn't dyed, for once, and the rest of her attire was mostly low-key and practical - exactly what she needed to make herself unremarkable and discreet, even if the fashionability of her outfit suffered for it. She didn't know if it would actually change anything to her predicament, but at least it made her feel a little safer. "Good afternoon." she greeted politely. The other visitor's appearance didn't ring any bell, though she seemed nice enough... The fact that she had come to visit Chika gave her some points as well. Natsumi took a long, good look at Chika. "Damn, Chika-san... That Pusher bastard roughed you up pretty bad." she said, a worried expression on her face. |

Isoroku looked at the newcomer and smiled at her. Standing up from her seat, she gave the girl a bow and a warm smile. "Good afternoon to you too," she said in polite manner. "Are you Chika-san's friend too?" she asked. |

Chika fidgeted slightly, although in her present position, her ability to adequately express her discomfort was sadly limited. "I--yeah, he did," she mumbled. "Thanks for comin', Natsumi-san. This is Isoroku Mayoi. Isoroku-san, this is Natsumi Aizawa. She's also in our class, I'm not sure if you two've ever met or anythin', but..." She shrugged. "Anyway... hi," she finished lamely. Maybe it was because this was the first time Natsumi had seen her so injured (whereas Isoroku had been on the scene when she was at her most vulnerable, already), but suddenly Chika felt increcibly self-conscious about these casts... |

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Isoroku-san." Natsumi said, bowing slightly - her tone hadn't been as friendly and warm as she'd hoped, sadly. Even though Isoroku was clearly being affable, Natsumi was a little too high-strung at the moment not to show a bit of aloofness in her greeting. "I saw the pictures in the newspapers, so... I decided to come. I'm glad to see it's nothing long-lasting." she said. |

"It's nice to meet you too, Natsumi-san. Now I remember seeing you in our class, but I thought your hair is pink," Isoroku stated before she immediately realized what she was saying. "A-ah, please excuse my manner! I shouldn't have said that!" she said, bowing to Natsumi apologetically. "Well, if the culprit is still at large, another case similar to this one may happen again sooner or later..." Isoroku looked at Chika. The one who pushed the girl from the top of escalator down to the floor below, who was nicknamed 'The Pusher' was still out there, perhaps planning to do another 'pushing'. She was trying her best to not show her anger, but one couldn't help but to notice that her hands were balled into fists. "But first, you need to concentrate on recovery, Chika-san. Do you need more healing?" she asked Chika. |

"The pink was a dye," Chika answered automatically, not wanting to leave the question to an obviously-tense Natsumi. And to Natsumi, she grimaced. "I might've got off easier if my Persona weren't weak to physical attack. Sometimes it feels like I'm made of origami or somethin', though... I'd be in worse shape if Isoroku-san hadn't healed me when it happened. One o' the nurses had some healin' magic, too..." When Isoroku offered more healing, Chika closed her eyes, then shook her head. "Bein' stuck here's a pain, but my foster parents already know I'm supposed t'be stuck with broken bones for a while. If it all just heals up at once... well, I dunno how they feel about Persona-users, yet, so..." She trailed off uncertainly. The worst-case scenario would probably involve her foster parents trying to kill her, but even if it didn't come to that, they would still probably keep a close watch on Chika if they found out about her powers. They might even try to take her away from Nagashima altogether... Chika was surprised to find, when she considered it, that this last possibility bothered her most of all. |
