The cold steel of Izanami's spear sent an anxious chill through Ryuunosuke's body. He kept his head bowed, his fists clenched tight, resting on his knees. He said nothing as Nana spoke, waiting until she had finished in order to respond. "Yes. I swear." A resolute nod affirmed his response, and he awaited Nana's response.

A sudden tightness in his chest caught Ryuunosuke's attention, but wasn't severe enough to distract him from the makeshift ceremony. Ryuunosuke faintly heard the roar of a dragon, pained, yet quiet, in the back of his mind, but paid it no attention.

The Persona tapped Ryuunosuke's shoulder with its blade before lifting it away from him and disappearing.

"Stand, Ryuunosuke. From this point forth you will no longer walk alongside me as a mere apprentice, but as my equal, my right hand, wielding my sword into the glory of battle," Nana said.

The immeasurable pressure the steel placed on his body was gone, and Ryuunosuke looked up at Nana with hesitant eyes. Her equal? Ryuunosuke gulped; he had no idea if he was capable of living up to the expectations that would be placed on him by such a title, but he trusted Nana's judgement; all he could do now was believe that he was able to do so.

Ryuunosuke stood, looking Nana in the eye resolutely. He nodded slowly. "I'll do my best, Shishou." Another roar rang out in the back of his mind; the once proud bellow of a dragon gone and replaced by a piercing screech. The high-pitched wail did, however, seem to relieve the pressure in Ryuunosuke's chest, and he relaxed, smiling a bit.

He was going to be able to help his teacher, now; to help her fulfill her ideals and bring peace to the city. That was the right thing to do, after all.

"Good." And suddenly, the serious expression just dropped, like it had never been there in the first place, and Nana put a hand on Ryuunosuke's shoulder. "You'll do well in my organization, y'know. Just gotta have some confidence. I think what I'll do is put yain command of a large chunk of my people, maybe talk to that Kuzuki guy and see if he'd like to help out too while I'm at it. And any orders I need to send down, they can go through you and that other guy. Keeps things orderly."

She turned, intending to walk out of the hospital room, when she stopped. "...Oh. Right, there's one thing you could help me out with right now, actually..." She didn't turn back to look at Ryuunosuke.

"I intend on confronting the Yakuza sometime soon. Ain't gonna be anything big, just talkin' about our roles in the city and who gets to control what and all that jazz. I'd like someone to come along as a... mediator. Someone I trust. Y'know, like you. Are you up for it?"

Compared to the steel of Izanami's blade, Nana's hand on Ryuunosuke's shoulder felt light and comforting, almost airy in its feel. He nodded at her commands; he was going to be in charge of people? He could do it; Nana said he could do it, after all. Ryuunosuke didn't know who this 'Kuzuki' person was, but he assumed that Nana knew what she was doing.

Nana's last minute request surprised Ryuunosuke a bit, but he nodded eagerly. "Yeah! I can do it. We're just talking, right?" He didn't think he could mediate very well, but Nana was good at talking; she'd be able to negotiate things.

"Weeeeellllllll," Nana said. "If it all goes to shit, we might hafta fight. You might wanna bring your weapons along 'n' shit just so we don't have to worry about nothin'. But I'm sure it ain't gonna turn out like that! And even if it did, we'd win anyways!"

She laughed and clapped her hand on Ryuunosuke's shoulder again. "Aight, no use mopin' 'round here. Gotta introduce ya to the others, after all! Howdya feel about learnin' how to use a gun?"

Without waiting for an answer, she grabbed him by the wrist and started tugging him toward the door.
