Posted by: GrabTheBrassRingDate: XXX-XX-XX at 19:10 This is primarily directed towards any in Rokketto University, weather faculty or students. But I won't turn away any responses from other interested parties. The fact is that the information offered by Bedlam can be a real lifeline for a lot of us. And while the Admins and contributors here are to thanks for that, there's still a ton we don't know, and there's still an opportunity for those who want to help seek out those answers to contribute. So I am proposing forming an organization. It's primary goals would be delving into the ruins, and finding out whatever they can about Personas, Shadows, the Ruins themselves and anything else. Findings would be posted on Bedlam and subject to peer review. I'm hoping to have a somewhat academic slant towards the Academic. Secondary goals would include.
- Assisting in finding newly awakened users in the Ruins.
- Pursuing and investigating any possible Persona-related Phenomena in Nagashima.
- Fulfill other niches of similar nature (Suggestions welcome)
This organization would not attempt to police Persona users that have 'gone rogue' but individual members would be free to do as they see fit concerning such events, and identifying and hopefully mitigating the factors that lead to such occurrences would be a high priority of the group.

Obviously, since I'd agreed when you brought this up to me, I'm in.

Not a bad idea, but haven't other such groups been formed already? ...Forgive me if I seem a little ignorant, I just "awakened" a few days ago. (Thanks very much to "Gretchen" (?) and Sanjuro Itoi for getting me out of that mess--I was about to run straight into the lower floors, which would have ended very badly for me even if I had awoken on my own!)

Assisting newly-awakened Persona-users is something we should all do. I already patrol the first level of the ruins whenever I can find the time. Anyone willing to help, college student or otherwise, would be most welcome!
...I stumbled across a dead body the other day. It looked like it had had been mauled by a rabid animal. It feels like a failure on my part whenever a victim slips through the cracks like that.
Oh, but this topic wasn't directed at me, I'm only a second-year in high school. ^^'

@-TheManBehindTheCurtain: Truth be told? I'm not sure myself. I don't know of any other active groups, except LOLICON (To the founders of that group: I see what you did there.)
@-BattleReadySwordMaiden: In regards to helping the recently awakened. I know it is. It actually wouldn't bear mentioning, except that a group working in concert can usually get better results than someone working alone. I didn't mean for the address to be exclusive by any means. Just that starting by focusing on a group with something in common was a great place to start.

You are very right--groups working in concert always achieve more than people working individually. I really wish the Persona-user community were more organized in their efforts to strengthen themselves and delve deeper into the ruins. I don't believe this helter-skelter approach is going to get us anywhere at all at the rate we're going.
Let me know how this group comes together! I would love to assist, if you'll have me. I'm not very good on my own, to be honest. My Persona is better suited to play the role of support-unit than frontline fighter.

...There's a group called L.O.L.I.C.O.N.? I honestly don't know whether I find that funny or disturbing.
What will this group be named, by the way? I'm game for it, so long as you don't mind a total amateur.

@-BattleReadySwordMaiden: Don't sell yourself short. Support abilities are very useful in a clutch. I've experienced their power first hand. If you're interested, we'll be glad to have you
@-TheManBehindTheCurtain: I took it obviously as a joke, and got a chuckle out of it.
As for names? I was thinking of calling it the Persona Research Group. or PRG for short. If I could've gotten a few factualty and students on board, we might even be able to operate semi-openly under the camouflage of a campus club. ('Psychological Research Group') Not exactly married to the name, so that's open for suggestions too.

Interesting you should mention the possibility of operating under the guise of an official school club. There was a curious rumor in Iwatodai about a school club that secretly fought "monsters" at night. Word is they were sometimes seen heading to the local school, Gekkoukan High, in the hours preceding midnight, and some of my sources even swore they saw them carrying guns, swords, a bow and arrow, and at one point even a street-sign with them as if prepped for combat. Most mysterious. The group was apparently called "S.E.E.S." on paper, never did learn what it stood for.
That was something I picked up while investigating the remaining dregs of the Cult of Nyx--my first story as a paranormal journalist, back in 2010. It's also something I omitted from my article at the time because of how absurd a rumor it was... or sounded like, at the time.
Not so absurd now that I've taken up residence in Nagashima. Meh heh... I wonder if there were Shadows in Iwatodai once, too! Might explain the Apathy Syndrome, and how it just mysteriously stopped happening all of a sudden around February of that year...
On topic: I'll run this thread by my fellow residents if they don't see it on their own first. Perhaps we can all help each other delve deeper into this mystery.
As a final note, I would like to suggest "alerting the community to potentially dangerous Persona-users and/or unknown Shadow types" to the list of group objectives. Knowledge is power, and forewarned is fore-armed, as they say.

I'm aware of how useful support magic can be! I just don't have the skill or power to operate effectively on my own, which is why I stick to the first level of the ruins at present. My skillset makes for a good addition to any team, though--balance is key, and I can tip the balance in almost any direction you need. A skill like "Tarukaja" is just as potent when cast by a low-level user as by a high-level user, after all, so in this role I can assist even against Shadows that are beyond me.
I would be glad to help whenever you need me. Just send me a PM and I'll try to find the time.

Count me in. Just... don't be surprised when I show up and don't know my way around a weapon. I'm really just your everyday average bookworm. -.-;

@-GunsNRoses: Yeah? Really? I've never been to Iwatodai, but I've heard some rumors. Always chalked it up to urban legends. the Nyx Cult on the other hand? That's seriously was some bad news. I had the displeasure of having a pair of those dead-eyed weirdos from that sect show up at our doorstep back when the big mania was at it's peak, gave me the creeps.
And yes, in regards to the dangers? Yes. This is an excellent idea. Thanks a lot both for your input and for helping to spread the word of this.
@-BattleReadySwordMaiden: Thanks! I'll be sure to when we need you! I appreciate the support!
@-TheManBehindTheCurtain: No worries dude, there's a first time for everything.

Way ahead of you, bro. I've already started work on a paper, posted the notes here a while back: "The Persona Phenomenon: Weaponized Reification and Jungian Psychology."
It's...admittedly not a very good paper.
It seems like there are a lot more of the high school types around here, and many are stronger -- focusing our efforts on information-gathering and analysis might be a good idea. That being said, I do have a silencing attack.
If anyone wants to play a game of chess or needs a sparring partner, let me know.

@MisterNg What if a teacher was the one who submitted the notes, and gave the "club" a space to work with? I don't think anyone can say a damn thing about that so long as we have a space to work with and at least 3 members.
Not to mention the fact there must be quite a few Persona users, perhaps some would want to try and find the meaning behind the ruins, Personae, and Shadows.
Also, I may take you up on that game of chess, some day.
