It's lunchtime, and when it's lunchtime, students would have lunches. Some would brought boxed lunches or bento, and some others bought foods from the cafeteria.

"Kinzaki-san, here's for you," Jun handed the Kirihara heiress his homemade boxed lunch. Both of them were sitting on the rooftop, having their lunches. Like usual, Kinzaki always wore her kimono instead of her uniform.

"Uwah~" Kinzaki's eyes gleamed with happiness as she saw the food that was made by Jun. "D-did you really make this, Isoroku-san?" she asked, looking at Jun.

"A-actually, no. M-my guardian made 'em..." Jun replied. Actually, the one who made the bento was Edward. "And at school, please don't call me Isoroku, alright? Just call me Jun or Kariyama, okay?" he smiled at Kinzaki.

"S-sorry, K-Kariyama-kun," Kinzaki blushed before she looked into the food. "Umm... is it alright if we eat now?" she asked.

"Sure," Jun nodded. "Itadakimasu!"

"Umm... I-itadakimasu..."

Kyo Charinko had a headache, so she did what she always did during lunch when she had a hangover: she went to the roof to put her head against the fence.

Or at least that was the plan. When she got there, massaging her temples and grumbling indecipherable obscenities under her breath, she stepped out onto the roof, walked over to the fence, turned around, sighed. Began to ponder how best to approach the Tsubaki situation.

And then she froze like a deer in headlights, as both Kinzaki Kirihara and Jun Kariyama--the two friends with which her relationship was easily the most uncomfortable, at least until Kyo's truce with Tsubaki the previous night--were sitting on the rooftop not ten yards to her immediate right, just beginning to dig into boxed lunches.

"Uh..." she said. "Um. Hi, Jun. Hi, Kinzaki." Pause. "Didn't know you two knew each other. I was actually thinkin' of introducin' ya the other day. Just before, um, Tsubaki got back from... places. Yeah."

Trumpeting the fact that Tsubaki had been in jail (because of Kyo, no less) seemed in poor taste, given their new and very tentative friendship, so she coughed into her fist and said, "So, how is?"

Both Jun and Kinzaki noticed Kyo's presence. At the same time, they greeted the girl.

"Hello, Kyo-san."

"How are you, Kyo-san?"

Since both Jun and Kinzaki already knew each other, the girl and the boy (actually a girl-in-disguise) giggled after hearing that Kyo wanted to introduce them to each other.

"Care to join?" Jun asked. "I have another boxed lunch..." she showed another bento.

"Yes, the more the merrier, right?" Kinzaki nodded.

"Ah, well," Kyo said, rubbing the back of her neck. "I wasn't gonna eat, but--well, since you're offerin'... sure, thanks bunches."

Letting her hands fall from their places at her temples (showing discomfort over the headache overmuch would just prompt people to ask about it, especially people as ungodly nice as Jun and Kinzaki), Kyo strolled over to the place where the other two had set up their little lunch-date. It occurred to her as she did that she may have slipped--hadn't Jun mentioned that she knew Kinzaki? Then she remembered that it was technically Isoroku who had mentioned that and...

Fuck, I need to be careful and keep that shit straight or one of these days she's gonna find me out...

You could just fess up. She might even appreciate having someone who knows~

...It was a tempting, yet frightening, notion... one that Kyo swiftly discarded. For now. Yes, for now. She wouldn't keep the secret forever, but--but she was afraid that Jun would take it the wrong way, and... and she didn't know what, it was just a terrifying idea.

Kinzaki was easier to figure out. Kyo just wasn't sure how to act around someone so blatantly high-society that the school made a uniform exception and allowed her to wear her kimono.

"Well, my week's shaping up t'be even weirder than the last," Kyo said flatly. "Things been goin' good with you two?"

"Nothing special," Jun said as he gave Kyo the bento. He preferred to not mention that Edward was the one who made it because he would know that she would refuse to eat the bento if he told her about him.

"Me too," Kinzaki nodded. "I guess we don't really mind all the strange things that happen around us," she looked at Jun. "Isn't that right, Kariyama-kun?" she smiled at Jun, winking at him. Seeing her wink, Jun looked away in embarrassment as he blushed.

"S-so, please enjoy the food, Kyo-san," Jun said. "We don't want to leave you out while we're having lunch," he said, smiling at Kyo.

Kyo shrugged. "I'll try. Not much of an appetite right now, though. Last night was... weird. Crazy. Like, attempted murder and Personas and--well. Water under the bridge. I jus' don't really know where to go from here."

Kyo opened the bento and started to pick at it as she spoke. After the word "here," she popped a bite into her mouth and suddenly her appetite was very much alive. In fact, her appetite was motherfucking Frankenstein's monster. She started to wolf down the bento at top speed, pausing only to swallow, thump her chest to prevent herself from choking, and say "This is good! Who made this? You? Or--"

She blinked.

"...Eh..."

She looked down at the bento, scowled, and said, "Please tell me I didn't jus' pay that sh... eeeeeeehhhh... that unpleasant person a compliment. Please. I couldn't stand the shame if I did."

She just managed to divert from "shithead" midway through the first syllable, but it was close. The mere thought of Edward making delicious boxed lunches made Kyo want to chuck the thing off the roof of the school. And to imagine it colliding with Edward's skull when it landed.

...Pfff. Now there's an image.

Jun knew it that Kyo would suspect that Edward was the one who made it. He didn't want to see the delicious meal to be tossed away, so he did what he normally wouldn't do. "Umm... i-it was me," he lied. He felt bad for lying to her friend, but he hoped that after she heard that Jun was the one who made this, she wouldn't have to throw the delicious meal away.

"Hmm? Didn't you say your gu-mpph!" before Kinzaki could finish her words, Jun immediately covered Kinzaki's mouth using his hand.

"Hahaha, nothing to worry here, hahaha!" Jun laughed nervously as he looked at Kyo (while closing Kinzaki's mouth). "I hope you like the meal, Kyo-san!"

Kyo watched this exchange with deadpan eyes.

"Edward, then. God damn it, my black-and-white vision of him is sullied--he has a redeeming quality," Kyo lamented, popping another bite into her mouth. "Still gonna kick his a--ah, his derriere. A little thing like this masterfully prepared, perfectly-seasoned and oh so very fine bento box ain't gonna change that."

She tilted her head to one side, putting a finger on her chin.

"...It would take at least six-hundred and eighty-nine of these things to change that," she decided, and continued to eat.

Kinzaki pushed Isoroku's hand away from her mouth before she pouted. "How uncouth, Kariyama-kun!" she protested. "You should know the right way on how to treat a lady!" she added.

"Sorry..." Jun mumbled.

"As long as you won't do it again, it's fine," Kinzaki said before she clapped her hands. "But your guardian is so cool! He can cook something like this!" she said gushingly. "This is even better than what our personal chef usually made for us! Please send my regard to him, okay?" she said before she giggled.

"Umm..." Jun scratched his cheek. "I... I guess I'll do that," he said. He hoped that Kinzaki would never meet Edward, or else she might've fainted due to the overwhelming exposure to profanity. Then he looked at Kyo and he was glad that the other girl continued to eat the food. At least it's better than having that delicious food thrown away.

"Kinzaki, trust me on this one," Kyo said grimly. "If ya ever met Edward, interacting with 'im would break your brain."

Kyo then proceeded to polish off the last of the meal. She breathed a sigh of contentment, reverently set the bento aside, and put her hands together as if in prayer. "Thank you, O food gods and spirits, for sending me this perfect meal. I will worship you with all that I am, always."

Dropping the air of faux-worship, she leaned back and sighed. "So, Jun, didja enjoy havin' the run o' the house after we met? Get any readin' done? ...I mean, ya seem like a book kinda person," she added, keeping her voice natural despite the slip. "Or are ya more into, I dunno, videogames?"

She didn't even remember whether or not Jun had ever said he liked books... ugh, she only even remembered because of her meeting with "Isoroku" the day after she'd met "Jun." Keeping the two identities and their respective "facts" straight was harder than she thought it'd be...
