I'm hearing that Seiichi Akamatsu got diagnosed with mad cow disease a few days back.
I dunno about you guys, but I'm not eating any beef products for a long time. Don't wanna end up like hacker boy.

Are you fucking serious. Are you seriously fucking serious here. Someone actually got vCJD in Japan, a country with some of the most stringent beef inspection policies in the entire world. A country that's only had 26 cases of BSE, and only EVER one case of vCJD.
Like, this isn't fucking England here. This is fucking Japan. Are you fucking serious. Did this guy just go around eating cow spines for shits and giggles or something? Jesus fucking christ, I hate every single one of you.

I want to say that it's probably not CJ. Searched stuff online and you only detect it late-stage. MIT in America figured out how to do it with gene sequencing, but I don't think that gene sequencing was how it happened. I don't want to get your hopes up, Akamatsu-san, but I highly doubt the diagnosis unless they actually drilled a hole in your head and sampled your brain tissue (but that has its own complications).
What symptoms are you suffering from? Self-diagnosis might not be the most medically accurate thing in the world, but we're talking about Cruetzfeldt-Jacob. Almost impossible, probably, but I'm no diagnostician. That's really rare. If you can think of how you got us, please let us know. It's a prion, so do you guys think that we can zap it clean?

This does seem a little suspect. I've eaten my share of shoddy and shady cow products in my life and come out smelling like fine cuisine, and Japan- even in Nagashima- has some tight food standards.
Could he have gotten it from trying to eat a shadow, maybe? I don't think that most would do that- and even then, there are a number of persona users who have attempted it without getting ill, and it raises the question of how that exact disease got down there.
Are you sure this isn't just a rumor, like the one about the two headed monkeys hiding in the bathroom stalls around the local college? You shouldn't be spreading second hand information, especially when it's something personal like a disease.

Interesting. Could be something Persona-related, but misdiagnosed, perchance? If so, is it something limited to Akamatsu-san, or is it possible it may happen to others as well? I believe the possibility at least merits looking-into. No sense taking chances.
@ AdrenalineJunkie - I would advise against advertising your Persona's elemental weaknesses on a public forum, young lady. You never know who may be reading your posts.

@ TwoCanned: I was thinking more along the lines of "Dia" spells, actually. Sorry if you were mislead into thinking that I was implying actual electricity.
@ GunsNRoses: Entirely possible. I'd want to look into that myself, but we don't have all that much to go off of unless Akamatsu-san happens to be reading along.

@ Teatime: Quite so. Someone could always approach him with the possibility directly, of course. On the other hand, if this particular Seiichi happens to be Masquerade... that could turn into an awkward conversation.
@ AdrenalineJunkie: ...Are you going to make a habit of turning everyone else's screen name into a sex joke, Charinko-san?

This is Akamatsu. Symptoms so far have included sudden changes in mood, seizures, blurred vision, speech impairment, and hallucinations.
And now I'm seeing Shadows in my hospital room. Fuck, this is gonna bite.
Anyways, my dad got diagnosed with Alzheimer's about a week and a half ago, so there's that.
@AdrenalineJunkie
Wait...'foxy-kun'? You don't mean Hiroko Tachibana, do you?

Those are a rather general list of symptoms that fit several different mental diseases, from Lyme disease to dementia. I would seek out a different doctor, one who isn't so likely to try and claim an almost non-extant disease for the sake of his 15 minutes of fame.
I'm sorry to hear about your father's Alzheimers. If it helps, there are several support groups available for you to speak with about the disease and your experiences with it. If you PM me, I can put you in touch with them.
