Kakeru Kagami was known as a diligent, somehow distant and yet approachable young man, and was also a good student. He got along with the rest of his classmates and teachers just fine, despite a little bit of oddity in his tone of speech. A few of female students seemed to be interested in him, but that's not really important right now.

Because Kakeru was lost again. "Where's my class again?" he asked himself while searching for Class 3-2. It happened after he went out from his class because he needed to go to the bathroom for a bit. And then, he was lost. Since he was little, he had a very poor sense of direction. "Damn it, I should've brought along that map..." he muttered under his breath before he sighed. "Well... I guess I just need to go around school again..." resting his nodachi that was wrapped in purple cloth on his shoulder, he went to search for Class 3-2. Let's hope that he could find his homeroom before the class ended.

And as it happened, one of his classmates--one of the ones who never seemed to show much interest in him--passed him by, heading in completely the opposite direction. Kyo Charinko had run to the little girls' room and was now walking lazily back, almost dragging her feet. She was in no hurry to commence the daily waste of life that was school. Or to commence the daily waste of life that was post-education employment, for that matter.

Waste of life. Everyone loved wasting life on shit nobody actually wanted to do. The world was fuckin' stupid like that.

She didn't so much as glance at her classmate, but her green hair and boys' uniform was quite recognizable to anyone who saw her on a regular basis. Kyo's many and varied clandestine shenanigans were a fairly hot topic of gossip in class 3-2, actually, so almost everyone in the class knew who she was... as well as her unfortunately apt surname.

She hadn't slept with anyone else, though, since... well. She hadn't slept around lately. But she supposed such a short span of time wasn't enough for rumors and kinky stories to completely die out. Not that she cared. They could talk all they wanted; it had nothing to do with her.

And unfortunately, Kakeru didn't recognize that girl even though she's his classmate, despite her unusual, green hair and uniform. He noticed that she looked kinda sorta familiar, but thinking that she might be another student from another class, Kakeru just glanced at her before he continued walking.

And then...

"Shit..." he immediately brought up his hand, pressing his forehead. That vampirical impulse immediately appeared without warning, thanks to the sight of that single girl. Perhaps he subconsciously triggered the impulse by seeing a seemingly helpless one girl who is alone. That impulse urged him to lunge towards that girl and bite her neck, but he actively fought the impulse as he bit his tongue instead. "Ngh!" he could taste his own blood after biting his tongue.

This isn't the right time, okay?

He managed to overcome the impulse, but he fell on his knees as he panted. Blood could be seen leaking from his mouth as he tried to get up and rested his body on a nearby wall.

Kyo heard an indistinct "Nng!" sound from behind her and cast a careless glance back--only to see a vaguely-familiar student (someone from her own class, she thought) slump down by the wall. Bleeding... from his mouth.

Well, what the shit.

"Oi, you alright there? Um... what's your name? Never mind, never mind," she said. She sounded unconcerned but looked somewhat worried as she quickly walked to where the boy had collapsed and bent down so she could see his face somewhat. "Yo, c'mon, let's get you to the nurse. Unless you wanna know what it feels like to lose half your blood all at once. Take it from someone who's been there, dude--it is not fun."

...Less so when the Reaper's on your tail and someone else has to carry you the whole way, but that was a detail best left unsaid.

Kakeru's eyes widened when the girl walked closer to him. The impulse rose again, and this time, he was too weakened to control it. "G-go away...!" he snarled, and at the same time, he showed the girl his fangs. "Go and run...!"

Despite what he said, when the girl was closer to him, without his consent, both his eyes glowed. His black pupil turned bright blue as Fear-spell was infused into them. Having no strength to control the urge, he grabbed the girl's arm as he looked into the girl's eyes. If the spell worked, the girl wouldn't be able to move due to the paralyzing nature of the spell.

"S-sorry, p-please endure this for a bit!" Kakeru let out those words with strained voice as he opened his mouth, revealing his sharp, vampiric fangs. If he managed to paralyze the girl with his fear spell, he would move on to bite the base of her neck.

What the Christing hell--?!

And then, Kyo was afraid. So very, very afraid. It was sudden, unnatural. Abrupt. And the eyes. The eyes. But even that didn't explain--she'd been manhandled before, she knew how to fight back, and she fought fucking Shadows for kicks so how was this--

Snap out of it, kitten! It's magic, like my charm spells! Don't let him...

She heard her Persona's warning, but it seemed to fade away as soon as it came, like the fear was drowning it. And then she knew real fear. If she couldn't even use her Persona...

She couldn't move. Couldn't will herself to. She was like a deer in headlights; she'd always known what that looked like from the outside, but feeling it in person, really feeling it--she didn't think she'd ever be able to use the phrase jokingly again.

Wide eyes slid from the boy's fear-striking gaze to his teeth. Fangs, even. Sharp. Pointy. Blood dripping out. Oh God. Oh God oh God oh God you can't be fucking serious. A vampire?

Kyo tried to force herself to move, force her mind to reach out for her Persona. If she could just get one hand on him, channel a Bufu...

...at's rig... itte... Y... can figh...

The dim voice of Morrigan was flickering in like a radio signal through static. Yes! If she could keep this up she would break this--

But for now, the fear still held her. And there was nothing she could do to defend herself. The small, rational pocket of willpower that had managed to gain wiggle-room for itself buckled down: this was going to hurt...

Knowing that the girl was unable to resist his spell, or at least not yet, Kakeru let out a growl as he also tried to resist the vampiric impulse within him. But he was unable to do that as he held the girl tightly, pulling the girl towards him as he prepared to bite the girl's neck.

Snap out of it, Kakeru! This is utterly wrong! Stop it! Don't do thing that you're going to regret!

When he was about to bite the girl's neck, he managed to pull back his head as he began to regain control upon himself. With the willpower that he managed to muster, he brought up his right hand and punched himself hard on his face. With that, the impulse faded away, and he was utterly exhausted.

"Heh... sorry," Kakeru panted as he still held the girl with his arms. "Seeing someone like you isn't good at this time..." he said. The girl might still be affected by his spell, and it wouldn't be gone unless he cured her. "I'm sorry," carefully, he put down the girl as he prepared to use Amrita on her. "I'll cure that Fear spell, so be still."

Kyo's eyes, still wide with horror she was wrestling to push away, took on a confused, mistrustful look. But she still couldn't move, couldn't--

Fucking hell, first you try to suck me dry now you wanna be my friend this isn't some teeny-bopper romance novel--

The snarling mental outburst was half-hearted, more caught off-guard and trying to catch up than anything. It occurred to her that he'd tried to warn her before he'd attacked...

Is... is this what happens when Persona-users--when we can't control it anymore?

The thought almost destroyed what little ground she'd gained over the fear spell, but--

...as if...... ver let oursel... urn into something like that!

She could hear her Persona again. She still couldn't move, but its haughty declaration was like a small shot of courage. On the side of her that her attacker couldn't see, her finger twitched. And internally, she snarled. If this guy was jerking her around right now, if this promise to heal her was some kind of sick mind game, she would break this fear spell to pieces and kick his stupid, sparkly...

...urgh... god damn it, it was hard to think up clever obscenities and fight off a Fear spell at the same time...

"Amrita," Kakeru cast the curing spell that could cure any kind of mental ailments. "There, the spell is probably gone now..." he also cast Diaharan on the girl for extra measure. "You should be able to move now..."

Thinking that the girl might not appreciate the fact that he almost sucked her blood, Kakeru just sighed as he crossed his arms, preparing himself for any kind of thing that the girl was about to say to him, or do, if she wanted to go physical.

And Kyo, for all her silent screaming and ranting, was so surprised by the sudden absence of fear that she almost forgot to react at all.

Then she jumped to her feet, spun around, back-pedaled. A number of emotions played across her face: anger, revulsion, a hint of real fear... and then she seemed to master herself, her breathing coming in deep gulps of air and her heart putting more effort into steadying itself than actually beating. Alright, she thought. Alright. So what if that was the closest thing to rape she'd ever almost had to live with? Almost only counted in horseshoes. And handgrenades. And pregnancy tests.

She opened her mouth to say something biting, snide, threatening, angry. She closed it. Her eyes took on a wary, calculating quality. All of the devil-may-care humor and bravado that she was known for was just gone.

"You're a Persona-user," she said. It did not even sound remotely like a question.
