Simple Scales; A practice session on the roof, what could possibly happen?

It was lunch time, and Drew Donovan was currently on the roof of her new highschool, her guitar out, plugged into the battery powered portable amp, and currently, alone. The previous week, she had ended up in the local ruins, and got a crash course about persona's, monsters, and met a green haired girl who seemed weird.

Going to play a song, kid? Said Dewi, her persona, Or practice on the one you've been working on all week?

You're me, ain't ya, dragon breath? D.D. thought back to her persona as she cranked her amp up to 9. Besides, I really want to get this song perfected, ya know? She then let out a small yawn and played a chord on her guitar. Grinning at how it sounded fine despite using it to hit a monster, the white haired girl closed her purple eyes and played, her fingers flying across the guitar strings of the purple flying v as she played the intro she had in mind. Soon, she started to slow the tempo a little as she sang.

"I've always been the one who was wrong, and never right! Every move I made, every note I played always seemed to set that monster's rage alight! But I kept on playin, I kept on singin, and now, it's paid off for me!" her fingers then started to move faster again, as she continued singing. "My whole world's gone into a rebirth! The true reflection of my mind has personfied and now soars to the sky! Death's never the end, it's just a change into somethin new! Every thing I say, everyone I meet, every note I play could affect my destiny..."

D.D. then stopped singing, and just played her song, mainly because she couldn't think of anything else beyond those lyrics. The song was after all, still a work in progress.

KK had come to school. Jessica wouldn't want him to miss his studies after all. It had been a long time coming, but the return was welcomed. After all the hustle and bustle of showbiz, the quiet life seemed a lot better. The rocker walked the halls when he heard the notes and began to smile. That same passion he had when he first started. The teen picked up speed as he ran towards the stairs and opened them, glancing upon the person sitting on the roof.

He smiled, before pulling out his own guitar. To musicians, sometimes words weren't needed. He walked over to her and began to play a few notes, nothing special. An introduction. In both senses of the word.

Akio pushed the door to the school's library, and stared in disbelief as dozens of studying high schoolers gave him mildly uninteressed glares from behind the doorway. Not a single seat was left inoccupied. A surprising situation if one took into consideration that it was lunchtime

So, the library was full, and Akio had to go study elsewhere. A calm, relatively-devoid-of-people place... The only place that came to his mind at the moment was the school's roof. Yeah, the school's roof was a calm, devoid-of-people place, right ? Plus, the view was quite nice. Well, Akio didn't give a rat's ass about the aesthetical qualities of the panorama one could enjoy from Taiyoutono's roof, but it could still make for a half-decent tangential talking point if anybody happened to be chilling there.

Climbing the stairs leading to the roof, he heard a couple of guitar chords accompanied by a rather good singing voice. He hesitated for a second before remembering some article he had read in a scientific journal once, and that it said that one's learning ability could be increased by studying while listening to music.

Opening the door leading to the roof, he glanced at the two uncommonly-haired people playing their instruments there. Waving to them, he sat on the bench in the middle of the roof. "Don't mind me. i'm just trying to see if your music can help me learn faster." he said to the two before flipping one of his college-level math books open.

D.D. stopped playing when she heard the other guitar, and turned around, just as the other boy showed up and started studying. Her purple eyes widened in surprise at seeing them, since she figured she'd be alone on the roof, but she then relaxed as she looked at them. The guy who played the guitar looked kind of weird with the blue hair and yellow eyes, which she guessed were contacts. He also seemed to be a senior, and glancing down at his guitar, saw he was taking very good care of it. The boy studying math though, looked to be closer to her age, despite being taller than her. Of course, he did look kind of cute as well, and D.D. chuckled a bit before she spoke.

"Heh, didn't really expect to have company while I practiced. Of course, its my first day here and all, so I'm still learnin how things are in Nagashima. My name's D.D. Donovan, from Arkabutla, Mississippi." she said giving a quick bow. "I'm here as an exchange student, and I'm really hopin that I get a chance to experience life to the fullest while I'm here. It's only been a week, and I feel like my life's just changed completely."

And it's all because of a gold butterfly too. Dewi said in her mind, while D.D. simply ignored him, not sure if what happened to her was a common thing.

KK gave a grin, strumming another set of chords before putting the guitar down and greeting the newcomer. Giving him a nod, he turned to the two of them. His scanning ability could sense the two had personas, but he didn't feel a need to voice this.

"I'm Katsu Kenta, most people call me KK, or Max Damage. Though I haven't gone by the last one for a while...." He went silent before shaking his head. "Nothin. Don't worry about it. Pleased to meet you D.D." He gave a nod to the other boy before settling himself down, strumming, then hitting a sour note.

Adjusting his guitar he gave a strained smile. "Something... changed?" He knew what had but he couldn't do anything about it.

Now that the two other persons had introduced themselves in a more formal manner, it would have grossly impolite for Akio not to do the same. Despite their rather unusual appearance, they looked like pretty nice people, and Akio gave his usual friendly smile before introducing himself.

"And my name is Akio Sakuraba, class 1-1. It is a pleasure to meet the both of you." he said, giving a bow to the both of them. Turning towards D.D, he gave another smile. "And it is doubly enjoyable to meet a girl who knows how white hair dye can enhance the beauty of one's face." he added. Akio was one-hundred-percent honest: he genuinely found that D.D's hair color, while fairly uncommon, suited her appearance well.

"And I'm more of a math geek myself." he said after showing the cover of his book to the two musicians.

D.D. Blushed a bit at Akio's compliment, and rubbed the back of her head. "Thanks, you're kind of cute too..." she mumbled, "You're in class 1-1? I'm in 1-3, so I'm surprised we're in the same year, and math's alright, but for me, music just gave me some freedom back home."

She then looked over at Katsu when he asked about something changing and blinked. "Well, yeah. I don't think it's normal to see a gold butterfly, end up in some ruins somehow, see a sheep with a pillow that can strip you down to you're underwear, hit it on the head with a guitar, and then end up summonin a dragon guy in a trenchcoat, a fedora, and watching him finish it off with a sword after making a hammy entrance." she told them, while she heard her persona grumble something in the back of her mind. Of course, she didn't realize that both of these guys had their own, and figured she probably sounded crazy talking about it.

KK strummed his guitar and smiled. How familiar the first steps of love were to him. He gave a small chuckle to himself. "Of course. The same as before, the same as the last time." As he played a small tune over in a loop his persona appeared behind him. A ragged black leather jacket gripped its skeletal frame, the bones made from chrome. A headband painted like the flag of America gripped to his skull and a core of bright energy glowed outwards.

"I've been one for a while. I guess when my journey ended, yours began." The persona vanished as he finished playing, giving a grin to Akio. "I know you've got one too, so that's why I didn't hesitate." The rocker turned around to face his fellow musician. "Well, welcome to Nagashima. Not much else to say after that."

The teen smiled, playing on his guitar idly, humming to himself. "Oh. You don't mind if I play, do you? Some people think it throws off their concentration." He scratched his head when Akio showed his math book. "I've never been too good at that. Might be why my manager never let me spent too many of my finances. Though my girlfriend said I had to make somethin of myself. I guess a rockstar isn't really making something."

D.D's remark about his "cuteness" brought a somewhat dorky smile to Akio's face. He gave a small giggle before giving an answer, and immediatly felt stupid for it. "Hahaha... Really ? Well, it's good to know that we have... similar opinions on each other's attractiveness."

The mention of Personas left him a bit surprised. So, the two of them possessed the power ? Katsu's invocation of his Persona left little room for scepticism, and it would have been unlikely that D.D knew all this stuff about the subject if she hadn't been a user herself. Akio's white and golden mask materialized in his hand, and Icarus appeared behind him immediately afterwards. The Persona's white chiton revealed quite a lot of his muscular chest, and a pair of light brown wings sprouted from his back. His blond hair billowed in a nonexistent wind, and it gave D.D a confident smile before vanishing.

"Well, when you're reading a musical score, you're doing math, in a way. If I remember correctly, everything in musical instruments was conceived with liberal use of mathematics. I never was a big music buff myself, though." Akio answered. "Well, I don't mind if you play. Seeing if I could learn better with music in the background was why I came here, after all."

Okay, so these guys have them to like Kyo did... Katsu's bein a skeleton rocker. D.D. thought before seeing Akio's persona, and her eyes widened at seeing it. And Akio's is just ... wow... hello angelic pretty.

"Alright, I might as well show you mine..." she said, bringing out her fedora and halfmask combo and putting it on. Dewi then appeared over her head, whistling while his head was lowered and his arms were crossed, before the draconic persona smirked and flexed a bit before tipping his fedora and vanishing. D.D. then sighed as she put the mask in her guitar case.

"I told you he was a Ham... That was Dewi, the Welsh Red Dragon." she said, before picking her guitar back up, turning the dial on her amp to 4, and sitting down on a nearby bench. She then started to play a slow tune and sang.

"Clouds in the sky, show me a story. I want to know what you've seen. Many tales have been written, but the clouds contain the ones not yet known..."
