Oh my God, I LEFT THE STOVE ON AT HOME!

This is my big chance to turn my whole life around...I gotta keep calm, and just make sure I don't mess up!

Shiori Tsukuda took a deep breath as she prepped herself to begin class. As luck would have it, she had been selected as a volunteer substitute teacher for the resident biology teacher. However, Shiori was quite nervous: this was her chance to prove to herself that she could live a normal life as a teacher, free from her family's Yakuza ties.

She nervously opened the door into the classroom, looking around the room. "Good morning, class! I'm Miss Tsukuda, and I will be your teacher for the day!"

Shiori's voice awoke a previously sleeping student named Seiichi Akamatsu. Seiichi blinked sleepily and looked up at the speaker. His tired mind could just barely process what was going on. Albino...substitute teacher...ah, fuck it, back to napping...

Seiichi's head fell back to his desk. "Zzz....

WHERE THE FUCK IS MARIO
Alexis had sat in this classroom, she wasn't probably supposed to be here but she didn't really care. With feet up on the other chair she leaned back, catching a first glimpse at the woman as she entered. She looked over at the girl and grinned. "Guten tag fraulein. So you are the first to enter this little shop of horrors?" She lowered her legs from the table and sat in a normal position, her chair slowly lowered to the ground.

She nodded slightly, tilting her head. "Alexis Kriemgund. A pleasure to meet you." It didn't seem to bother her that this was the teacher.

Shiori consulted the attendance sheet. "Kriemgund...Kriemgund...you don't seem to be in this class...did you just change your schedule recently? I can have the office update the list..."

"Don't bother...the people in the office can't do their jobs for shi-OW!" Shiori had walked up to Seiichi and smacked him on the head with a paper fan. "There will be no sleeping or profanity in my class."

Kumori slept quietly in the back, blissfully unaware of the scene unfolding.

Alexis chuckled. "When the hounds of the baskervilles come to assign me my number and walk into my cage, I will have a schedule. Until then I am as free as the north winds, blowing in and out of whatever place I desire." She nodded in approval.

"Very good fraulein. Show no-one mercy. After all, when you are looking to stay on top, you need to control the situation, yes? I am impressed." She leaned back on her chair, humming slightly.

"Ooooo...kaaaay...."

Shiori stared at the 'German' girl in silence. She has a very peculiar way of talking...perhaps common German sayings don't translate very well to Japanese?

She shrugged, walking over to Kumori and poking him in the back of the head with the paper fan. "Hey, I'd appreciate it if you would wake up and pay attention..."

Shiori might have been underestimating Kumori a bit, for he was no ordinary narcoleptic. He was a narcoleptic with reflexes honed by Masami Yuu in the classroom and by nights in the ruins outside of school. Each poke with the fan was avoided by his tossing-and-turning motion. Compared to spears, the student teacher's prodding was mere child's play. He yawned in his sleep.

Alexis watched as Kumori was dodging in his sleep. Very strange, but not unexpected from a place like Nagashima. She turned her attention to her ungloved hand, producing a nail file and placing her feet on the table once more. "He seems a little beyond your skills fraulein." She smirked to herself and chuckled.

"Maybe you should throw something."

Shiori stared at Kumori for a moment, then walked over to her desk where a pile of textbooks that had been left behind by students on accident sat. Carrying the pile back to Kumori's desk, she held the books over the surface of the narcoleptic's desk about a foot or so. The substitute teacher let go of the books and they hit the desk with a solid 'thump'.

As the books hit the desk, Kumori's head shook a bit from the impact, but he didn't show any outward signs of consciousness. He shifted his weight a bit, but kept on sleeping all the same. A textbook from the stack thumped the the floor dully.
