WHERE THE FUCK IS MARIO
|
One thing that no-one could ever shake was Jet Lag. But to keep up the appearances, Alexis had insisted on coming into school. She had to make an entrance. At her side was a woman dressed in a tight suit jacket with black hair styled in a pixie cut, black gloves concealing her hands and a general glare about her. Alexis went to draw something out of her pocket, before stopping herself and reaching for a stick of gum. Traits were the first thing that gave people away. The German Girl smiled to herself. It was time to live on the other side for a change. Leaning against the the tree near the entrance, everything that had happened recently seemed to feel like a dream. Her father was a very real threat, but his interest was not Japan at this current time. Right now it was just her and them once more. She placed a hand on her head and raised an eyebrow. That was... actually quite tall. She didn't remember much of her school time, but Alexis could reach the highest branches now. "You shouldn't do that. People will think you're paranoid." The girl shrugged. ["Let them think what they want."] Edited by Dante, Aug 28 2012, 05:33 PM.

I'm just saying, you should go meet some new people. You've been really introverted lately, and your schedule's opened up nicely. Kira made a quiet noise of agreement, her attention split between walking and the conversation in her head. Her hours had been cut at the Maid Cafe- the lowered income sucked, but nothing serious. The rate of new users had slowed and they were doing a good job of keeping alive and sane. She was getting less emergency calls, which was a relief in that it meant there was less need for a healer. Things had started to die down in Nagashima as a whole. Alek had vanished after their day together, taking her men with her. The lack of big incidents beyond what was normal for Nagashima gave hate groups less fuel, though she knew that they were likely just biding their time. Best of all, while her nightmares were still frequent, they packed less punch. Her shadow seemed just as relieved by it all as she was. I think you're right. Kira smiled. I should talk to more people. Maybe spend a bit more time with my friends in track, kendo, and drama. They're probably worried about me. She felt a little guilty for not hanging out with them, but things had been busy and their relationships lacked the fire-forged quality many of her fellow users shared with her. Still, I can't just walk up to people and say 'hi'. It's weird. Well, what if you have a conversation starter? Like... oh! Those two over there. I don't think they're someone we've seen; probably a new transfer student and her... well, seems a bit young for a parent. Almost seems to be a body guard. Kira wanted to point out that just because they hadn't seen them before didn't mean they were new to the school, but it was as good an excuse as any. The track star put on a friendly smile and made her way over to the two women. "H-hello." It was around that point that she realized how long it had been since she met someone without some sort of danger or strangeness being involved, and how foreign a normal conversation felt. "Sorry to bother you both, but I haven't seen you around before. Are you new here?" |

The suited woman turned to Alexis. "That girl over there is approaching, you would be wise to stop comparing your height." The German turned to face the approaching persona user with a smile. "Yes I am new, I am Alexis Kriemgund. This is my bodyguard, her name is Tatiana." The suited woman gave a nod, her eyes still incredibly sharp. She smiled, knowing exactly who Kira Kameko was personally, one of her few friends. But this was Alexis and to Alexis she was nothing at the moment. "I am... sorry but I'm still a little dazed from the flight over. This is the first time I've been to japan." |

"Ale-" Kira stopped herself from repeating the name, instead looking between the German girl and her bodyguard. A foreign girl about her age who was important enough to have a bodyguard named 'Alexis'. The brunette's mood deflated as she was reminded just how much the universe hated her sometimes. This timing is just... She turned back to Alexis, subtly attempting to scrutinize her voice and appearance. There were no visual cues to really connect the woman before her to Aleksandria, and the voice was just different enough to make it impossible to tell by. I know it's strange, Otohime butted in, but it's nothing that couldn't be expected from Nagashima. Kira was forced to agree. The track star shook her head, smiling. Alexis was waiting for an answer. "Sorry, I was just reminded of someone else. My name is Kira Kameko. It's a pleasure to meet you, Kriemgund." Her expression became slightly more nervous. "I, um, I apologize if I pronounced that wrong. I'll admit, I'm really impressed by your Japanese- for someone who only just arrived, it's excellently refined." She was just being paranoid. Alek had left, so of course she would be prone to jump to any conclusion that let her keep hope of seeing her again. The teen inclined her head in a short bow. "Please, let me be the first to welcome you to Taiyoutono High. If you'd like, I can show you and your bodyguard the layout of the place, so you'll both be more familiar with it." |

Alexis gave an aloof smile. "My, who else could you have been reminded of? I like to think I'm fairly unique." The student straightened her uniform, running a hand through her short white hair. She shrugged to herself, Tatiana's glare never stopping. "Miss Alexis took Japanese before she arrived, she didn't want to stand out too much in the crowds." The German girl nodded. "A pleasure to meet you Kira Kameko. Tatiana is a little hardedged, but she is learning. It is hard to teach those who know nothing else to learn." She waved her hand and Tatiana's glare finally subsided. "A pleasure to meet you as well." She worded it out slowly. "Kureemgoond. It is a little hard to pronounce, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it." She bowed in reply, far be it from her to not accept such an offer. "Please do, I am... not exactly sure where everything is. My last school was a little more... how we say... personal." "Alexis was homeschooled." The Heiress whirled around to her bodyguard. "Don't tell everyone Tatiana..." |

Kira quietly and carefully repeated the pronunciation of the other girl's name, nodding to herself as she committed it to memory. She met the disappearance of Tatiana's glare with a peaceful grin and slight bow. The interaction between the two newcomers put her at ease, the teen's amusement at her fellow schoolmate's embarrassment taking a mite of effort to quash. "Don't worry. The school's layout is pretty easy to remember once you've learned it." Turning, she took a few steps towards the entrance before looking over her shoulder. "Please, follow me. Keep your hands and feet inside the attraction at all times." The joke was weak and she knew it, but she hoped it would help break the ice (and get her mind off all the possibilities that were swimming through her head). Kira continued on, only slowing occasionally to ensure she wasn't moving too fast for the two women behind her. The entrance hall to the school was fairly spacious, and mostly empty. A few pieces of furniture sat on top of the tiled floor, broken up only by a handful of potted plants placed there to create the illusion of putting the area to good use. Stopping a few feet in, the track star turned to face her 'tour group'. "One thing about the school that helps with finding your way around is that no matter where you are, the entrance hall is a short distance from everything else. It's a quick point of reference, and the bulletin board in the back has a pretty simple map showing where it's all at." She wondered if she should mention it was made that way for quick evacuations before deciding against it. No need to terrify the new girl so soon. It occurred to the teen as she looked towards the map that there really wasn't much she could say that the piece of paper couldn't supply, besides anecdotes about the town's craziness. "Ah, this may be a little off topic, but what brings you to Japan? Or in specific, Nagashima?" It would have been her first question if she hadn't been so caught off guard earlier. That, and it would be important to let Alexis and Tatiana know about the town's craziness ahead of time if they weren't already aware, if only to keep them from being caught off guard by something legitimately dangerous. |

Alexis gave a smile and chuckled. Tatiana following behind her like a shadow. "It is definitely different to the places I saw in Berlin. Very different indeed." She spoke quietly to herself but loud enough to hear. As she stood in the entrance hall and took it in, she noticed the map, quietly making a mental note of it. "Thank you Kameko-san, I am not the best at directions, but I am sure the map will help. She tapped her chin, looking to Tatiana, who sighed slightly. "Alexis is looking after Kriemgund Industries. With her father passing away, she is the only relative who has control of the company." She nodded her head slowly. "Kriemgund focuses on robotics. There is not much to say, very boring actually." She smiled to Kira, Tatiana closing her eyes and nodding. "Why Nagashima?" She smiled. "Why not? The rumors about this town are simply astounding. It seems to be quite the place to live. I thought that while I was in Japan, I would stay here. Nagashima seems to be very interesting." Tatiana nodded. "It helps that this was where Alexis' parents met. Alexis feels like it is somewhere she has to go." "Tatiana... don't say unnecessary things!" There was a small quiver in her voice, which denoted embarassment, which was met with a rare frown from the bodyguard. "I am sorry Mistress." |

A father leaving his corporation to his young daughter. It took a monumental effort, but Kira kept herself from obsessing over the familiarity of the scenario. She instead latched onto something else, a scenario familiar for different reasons. "It's a small world after all. My parents met in Nagashima, too. I think that's why they decided to raise us here in spite of the town's eccentricities." She omitted the fact about it no longer being the case; she didn't want to milk a friend- stranger, milk a stranger for sympathy when she obviously had her own reasons to feel down. "I'm sorry about your father's passing; I didn't mean to tread on an uncomfortable subject." The teen gave a small smile. "I'm sure he's proud of you, though. Not many people can run a business, especially so young." "If you need company, my schedule's been really open lately, so I'm always there to talk. Though with how amiable some of the students are here, I wouldn't be surprised if you have more friends to turn to than you know what to do with." The subject change felt a little clumsy, and she worried it might have come off as pity instead of genuine, but she also wanted to reassure the new student that she'd have no trouble fitting in. |

Alexis smiled. "So you know a lot about the town? I am but a newcomer, so perhaps I would do well to follow your lead for a while." Giving a shrug, she deferred to Tatiana, the bodyguard shaking her head slightly. "Alexis wasn't too broken up over her father's death. He pushed her away in his final days. I remained with him and for that, she is jealous." The teen raised an eyebrow to Tatiana and frowned. "I don't remember asking you to say that Tatiana." Turning back to Kira the girl gave a smile. "I've always had trouble being... friends with people. Things always get in the way. Its all so confusing and so annoying. But it happens. I just want it to be easier, but something tells me even now it won't be." A flash of something in her eyes, remorse maybe? "I just want to be free of it all." Her bodyguard gave a nod. "Alexis can be like this sometimes, some say it is her mother's influence." |
