"And...in the late 12th century....ARUGH!" Stefan groaned tossing the book he was reading the ground in front of him. He rolled over from his back to his stomach resting his chin on the hard cover of his textbook. The blonde still had a problem with reading even though he tried as hard as he could it still took him much longer than he would like to even get through a page. It had taken him months to learn how to speak the language perfectly and that meant everything else fell to the wayside, including his reading. He had just gone from one embarrassment to another. He dreaded the day he would be forced to read in class.

"I can do this." Raking hands through shaggy blonde hair before sitting up he grabbed the book positioning himself so that he could read int he sunlight of the grassy courtyard. He had to mutter the words out loud under his breath as he read finger following along with the line of words. And once he got to the end of the page he realized that while he had said the words aloud he hadn't understood what they were saying. Another groan of frustration exited his mouth as he slumped back onto the ground the book covering his face.

"I hate reading." A last muffled complaint into the pages of his history book before he decided it was time for a break. He did try hard but this was starting to hurt his head.

Charles swung out from a nearby tree, hanging from the branch in a manner similar to that of a monkey.

"Havin' trouble readin' that book there, Gaikokujin-san?"

Stefan looked up startled by the person talking to him, nobody ever talked to him anymore. He looked around to see if maybe he was talking to somebody else. Then looking pointedly back at the odd young man who swung like a monkey from a tree.
"W-what who me? I uh...yes."

"Oh, hello there."

Kuzuki ambled over to where Stefan was sitting, laying the stack of books under his arm on the grass and taking a swig from the can of juice in his free hand.

"Mind if I sit here?" With a pat, he checked to see if the grass was warm and dry. Satisfied, he sat down and took the topmost book of the stack, flipping it open with a lazy motion of his hand.

"Ja- I mean. I mean yes. Dan-Thank you."
Stefan took his book and held it tightly to his chest staring at the stranger with wide eyes. He was flustered when people talked to him now. And when he wasn't thinking would slip back into German.

Stefan scowled hearing the other boy mimic his accent something he was sensitive about as it was. "I um. I just have trouble reading is all." he said defensively clutching the book to his chest.

"I see." Kuzuki nodded and settled against the tree, taking a glance at the book Stefan was reading.

"What is that you're trying to read anyway?"

Charles patted the boy on the back. "I'm jokin'! I remember I thought Japanese was the shittiest language simply because of how much you had to memorize to learn."

Charles dropped down from the tree.

"Yeah, that book looks interestin'. What is it?"
