Observing the music room, Harkens took his time finding a seat. This guy had better be as good as the bloggers say...

Taking a seat on the chair of a nearby Piano, Harkens rolled his hand and told him,
"Alright there, Buckethead. Amaze me."

KK smirked at Harkens. "I'll show you something special I've been working on." He held his guitar in one hand and began to play quickly, his hands moving to the frets with practiced precision, from a cursory glance, it was easy to tell that he had been at this for longer than a few years.

"When I grew up and learned to sing, they told me I could do anything..."

"I thought it was a bunch of lies, I never understood why...."

"But then, the light it came to me, and then I could finally see!"

He broke into a solo, to him, there was just him and his guitar, practicing a song he had written for when his band could make it all together again, even for just one last song.

"I thought life was dull and I was getting bored but experience is its own reward..."

"I thought time was slow and I was fast, but now I know that will never last...."

"So tell me now, inside the light, will I find what I need to fight?, will I regain my siiiiiight?"

He brought the singing down, putting the rest of his effort into playing, turning his head up he was smiling.

"This fight is not over, It will never be over, I can never surrender, I'll be at war forever..."

"So now I'll take up my sword, maybe death is its own reward?..."

He smiled, unplugging his guitar. "So, what did you think? Its a work in progress."

Kyrie was bobbing her head slightly as she listened to the song, following its melody. She enjoyed the feeling conveyed through the song. It felt like KK was pouring his heart's content into this single song, and it was beautiful.

After the song was finished, Kyrie clapped her hands. "Wonderful, subarashi~" she said. "It's been a while since the last time I listened to such a wonderful song!" she said in complimenting manner. "It's good. It's very nice listening to it," she beamed a beautiful smile which might or not might remind KK to a certain nun.

Well, guy's got talent.
"Bravo. Bravo. Now erm..."

Tapping at the piano that he was sitting next to, Harkens smiled and asked,
"My turn?"

KK looked at his guitar and then looked to Kyrie, her smile. That was what gave her away. He remembered seeing that smile back in the grass by the ruins as she laid together, healing her after he had rescued her. That was when she had wormed her way into his heart. He tried not to give the game away, offering a cheeky wink.

He turned to Harkens with a grin. "Hell, the more the merrier, show me what you got Beethoven." He nodded his head as a subtle turnaround.

"Ooh~" Kyrie's eyes gleamed in excitement and anticipation. "I think I'm gonna join as well!" she said before she went to the cabinet, taking out a white violin. "Alright, let's do this~" she gave both boys a thumb up before she began positioning the violin. During her time in the monastery, she had learned how to play musical instruments, including violin and piano (she liked ukeleles as well, but that's another story).

"Ooh, goody."

Cracking his fingers, Harkens wriggled them a bit before he pressed a few keys to see if the old thing was in-tune and adjusted his seat. After he was settled into an optimal playing position, he thought about what to play. He settled on a fast-paced and light-hearted song considering the group.

Furiously playing a quick little opener, he sang along the song as he played. His voice was probably not nearly as tuned for singing as KK's, but at the least, he was sure he wasn't tone-deaf...

"Where have all the good men gone
And where have all the gods...
Where's the street-wise Hercules
To fight the rising odds..."

"Isn't there a White Knight
upon a fiery steed.
Late at night I toss and I turn
And I dream of what I need..."

KK knew this song well, it was a favorite of his uncle. It was also one of the first songs the boy had ever sung in a band. But now Kyrie and Harkens were playing a number and the rockstar gave a grin. Talent was one thing, but if you had heart, you could make anyone smile.

As the song got to the chorus the teen joined in, singing it under his breath, air guitaring the frets with almost hypnotic rhythm. He smiled widely. "You've got talent, I'll give you that!"

As for Kyrie, she played the classical musical instrument as Harkens played the piano and sung the song. It's been a while since she enjoyed herself like this.

She looked at both KK and Harkens, smiling as she saw that both boys were enjoying themselves. She really felt like a teacher at this moment, seeing her students beaming their joyful expressions. "I gotta agree with you," she nodded as she gave a naughty wink towards KK.

After singing the chorus of the song, Harkens winked over at the two and answered,
"Why thank you. I'm a person of many talents. Now, I just need a pair of shades and I'd be set. Anyways, Verse Two."

Closing his eyes, Harkens swayed his head side to side and took a deep breath as he sang,

"Somewhere after midnight
In my wildest fantasy
Somewhere just beyond my reach
There's someone reaching back for me
Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat
It's gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet..."

For the buildup to the chorus, Harkens mashed the keys in a staccato-like fashion while pressing the pedal for amplified effect. This was seriously fun to do. He should try it some times...
