WHERE THE FUCK IS MARIO
|
Treo had decided once more that he needed to keep going to school. This had meant initially he had to catch up on work and through one thing leading to another he was sitting in Journalism class. The teacher had said something along the lines of partnering two people up for an interview project. It seemed like this wasn't something he could do alone. Rather than pick someone the Teen waited, idly doodling in his small notebook, another shadow from the ruins. "Jeez.. who knew school was so dull." |

Kiyoko loved journalism class. She wasn't completely sure why she had taken it; something about the class just lured her in, and she'd loved all the stuff they'd been doing. Someone who didn't seem quite as enthusiastic about journalism, though, was Treo Ashdown. He was a senior as well, and she'd always seen him in the corner of her eye. They, at the very least, knew each others' names, but they had never really talked. The teacher had just assigned a group project. Kiyoko had turned down a few offers from people who were strange and made her kind of uncomfortable, but now the problem was that everyone was partnered up... except Treo. She shrugged. He seemed normal enough. Wouldn't be a bad idea to make friends. Kiyoko walked up to Treo, cradling a notebook in her arms in front of her. "Uh... Ashdown-san, do you have a partner yet?" |

As he noticed Kiyoko in his peripheral vision Treo quickly pocketed the notebook. As she made her way over he smiled politely. Looking around the room he mockingly made a sad face. "I guess I'm stuck with you then. I'm joking, please sit." The teen gave a happy grin while looking over at the board. "So I guess we have to interview each other first?" He smiled. "Do you want to interview first, or should I?" |

Kiyoko was a bit stunned at how comfortable Treo was. Being stunned, of course, led to slight uncomfortableness as she sat down. "Uh... Hehe. Right." For a second, she'd taken his depressed look seriously. She really needed to stop that. Regardless, Treo's grin was somewhat infectious, and a small smile crept up on Kiyoko's face... ... which promptly went away as he brought up the assignment. She really wasn't quite sure what to do, since the teacher had been, well, a standard teacher at Nagashima, but she was able to get a gist of everything from listening to the other students. "Um... I think we're supposed to switch off. I ask one question, then you ask one, then I ask one, etc..." She blinked. "Um... you can ask first if you want. You have the questions, right?" |

Treo smiled. "Ah, alright, better that way." The teen scratched his chin for a moment. "Lets start with the basics, what are your hopes and dreams? You know, what you really want to do in life." He held a piece of paper up but it was easy to see that it was very much blank. Treo smiled to Kiyoko and pretended to read over his 'list' of questions. |

Kiyoko chuckled. "Well, technically the first question is 'What is your name,' but I'm assuming you already know that." She paused. "... I-It's Kiyoko Watanabe by the way. I mean, if you don't know." Of course, Treo had to start with the most difficult question. Kiyoko put a hand up to her chin. "G-Geez, there are some pretty personal questions... um..." Well, spilling personal secrets was a nice way to make friends! Probably. "To be honest, I'm not completely sure about what I want to do when I grow up. I know what I like. I like reading books; literature in general really. Languages intrigue me too, and history, and... generally things most people find boring." Kiyoko smiled to herself. "I'm kind of a bookworm, I guess..." She blushed, embarrassed. Wow, this was awkward. Hopefully it got more comfortable as you went on. "Something related to that would be a nice job, but... outside that, I just want to be happy. Safe and... stuff." Kiyoko frowned. "My brother, too. I really don't want him getting in trouble." Scratching the back of her head, the persona user looked a bit sheepish. "I don't really have huge, giant plans to become ruler of a nation or something. I just want to be happy." She paused, not knowing where to go from there. Was she done? Probably. "Um... yeah." Clearing her throat, Kiyoko decided to ask Treo a question. "Uh, let's go with a different one..." She tried to make eye contact with Treo before immediately looking back down at her paper. "What's your greatest strength?" Only four words. She didn't have to talk much. |

Treo gave a smile. "I remember Kiyoko, don't worry. Nice to get a refresher though, I have been out for a while." He scratched his head slightly and allowed her to continue into his question. Giving a nod of approval the teen motioned to the small notebook in his pocket. "I like books as well. Due to a lot of situations though, I haven't been able to read as much as I'd like." Her blush caused him to move back a little. "Sorry, I'm kind of the curious type" He averted his gaze slightly before returning it, sure in that she got the message he was sorry. He gave a warm smile in reply. "That's all anyone can want, to be happy. Its a good goal." He hadn't really noticed the girl, due to his not really paying attention in class, but it was pleasing to talk to someone so refreshing. It sure would suck if she too was involved with this persona business. Treo glanced at her, she seemed honestly rather... normal. Nagashima had been kind to this one it seemed. Then the question. Scratching his chin he thought it over. "My mind. I train my body, at least I have been recently, but I've always been better at thinking out than punching out. I guess its a strength? I... don't really like admitting it." Looking down at his blank paper he tried to visualise another question. "Alright, a simple one so we don't end up overanalyzing each other." He chuckled. "What's your favorite book?" |

Kiyoko was kind of unnerved at the way he said the word situations. Something about it... eh, probably nothing bad. Although he was a foreigner. Foreigners in Nagashima had a habit of either being criminals or... criminals. Shady people in general, really. Especially that Kira person; wasn't she sleeping with half the school? Kiyoko relaxed a bit at Treo's response when she finished. It always was awkward putting yourself out there for another person to see, but being approved of was quite the nice feeling. Although she had left out the part where she hoped this persona business just stopped altogether. It sucked being even slightly involved with that. She just nodded at his own answer. "I see." Kiyoko bit her lip; was she supposed to say something? Treo said something. It'd only be polite. "Um... well, you do seem pretty smart..." He did. And then Treo asked his own question, and Kiyoko actually had to think to come up with an answer. "Oh, geez, um... I don't really think about that all that often, um..." She scratched her head before coming up with some kind of answer. "Well... I read this book, an english book, called the Pelican Brief. It was about this legal student and this murder case and... I just liked it." She shrugged. "It has some romance in it, which I have to admit I've always been a fan of," cue awkward blush, "but it seemed a lot more, uh, mature? I read it a long time ago and it was one of the first novels I read, so it's kind of stuck around. I guess. I still have it, I think..." She nodded. "That's it." And then Kiyoko remembered she had to ask her own question. She thought it over for a moment. "Um... Oh. If you could meet with one historical figure, who would it be and why?" She'd been asked this on an interview once! |

Treo smiled back in reply. It seemed she was a little new to the whole returning fire concept, so it was only wise to let her take her first few steps and be there in case she fell. "Smart enough to not go to school." He smiled jokingly before listening to her answer. Intriguing, murder mysteries? Always a good set of books. "I've read that book, it was one of the first I found that my dad owned. He liked those kind of stories too." He closed the subject on his father as quickly as it had been opened, which lent enough of a clue to how much Treo thought of him. He scratched his chin as he thought over the answer. "Any historical figure in the world, huh? Hrmm... I've always wondered about Machiavelli and how his mind works. Maybe he would be interesting to shadow for a while." He smiled. "Something easy now, What do you think of Nagashima? I like to think the crazy grows on you, then you don't ever want to live anywhere else." Edited by Dante, Jun 24 2012, 03:38 PM.

The question seemed to strike a bit of a nerve with Kiyoko as she instantly looked just a bit more uncomfortable. "W-well..." Should she answer truthfully? Or butter it up? Would Treo get mad if she said what she really felt? Kiyoko gulped. He seemed nice enough, and he said himself the place was crazy... maybe he'd understand? "Well, to be honest..." Eye contact was, at this point, more or less nonexistent. "I didn't really want to live here. My brother and I used to live with father, and he sent us away here, and it's been... an experience. This town is crazy. Really crazy.... Strange things happen." Kiyoko sighed. "I think Kyokyo - I mean, my brother is used to all of it, but me? I just want to live a normal life, you know?" She blinked. "E-Er, there are nice people though! And..." She lifted up her piece of paper. "A-anyway, next question... Um..." Kiyoko thought back to interviews she'd had. What did they ask? "Where were you born, and what do you think it says about you?" |
