Never plan on more than an hour, right.

Kotoba winced as Madoka hit himself in the forehead. "Ah...the powers I have are Darkness, Earth, and Restoration. Are you alright? Head wounds are always more dangerous than they appear..." The boy moved to get up, "It was even made of stone..."

Madoka dabbed at the point of injury with a light gob of slow-release Dia gel and waited for it to soak in. As he stood there, his head slightly tilted back with a vaguely radioactive blob of glowing blue on his forehead, he looked at Kotoba and waved his hand in front of his face dismissively.

"Don't worry about it. It'll take more than that to ruin my skull. But if you're talking about Magna, then there should be some handy things that you can do with it. Just experiment. It might be tough if you're pulling stuff out of the ground with specific shapes, but if you start out simple, then you should be fine."

Kotoba just stared blankly at the gel-substance while Madoka put it to use. Medi-gel became a thing while I was gone? Wow, our country is at the forefront of technology...that or I'm really behind.

The boy brightened up at the advice. "I was hoping to give an ethereal edge to a toy sword with Eiha, but I'll definitely experiment with Magna too." Kotoba then put a hand to his chin, smiling to himself. This topic was definitely something he could get interested in. "Hmm...dark power infused into something might also block vision? Or earth power into an object to give it more weight? I'll have to find a place to practice safely too..."

So, you really are happy to have me then? Alraune already knew the answer.

"If it's dark, then it won't be permanent. Earth is handy since a rock is a rock, regardless of how much magic you pump into it. If you're going to use Mudo for something, then you're going to have to do it once you start an attack," Madoka said as the blob of solid Dia faded away.

"Dunno how a toy sword would work, though, Kotoba-kun. Even if you coat a sword in dark energy, it will still break if you swing it hard enough. Be careful about that."

Kotoba closed his eyes and thought about this for a moment, realizing his idea wouldn't go over very well at all with this new information. "If it won't be permanent, then I would have to observe and possibly train my empowering of things with darkness. I don't know what Mudo is, but timing is probably important for this kind of thing anyway, so I'll keep that in mind."

Kotoba then opened his eyes. "About the toy sword, the point was to only let the power hit, but yeah..." He then scratched his head and looked off to the side, a slight frown on his face, "If I'm using the power like that to coat the object, then it might break if they are forced together by impact anyhow. Hmm...oh well."

Kotoba smiled and shrugged, "It seems I should practice with Earth power first anyhow, it looks and sounds as if the land is more reliable than darkness."

"It's circumstantial," Madoka said, shrugging. "Everything has its own functions. Strengths and weaknesses. That sort of stuff. It's handy if you have more than one way to damage things, since the Shadows that you'll fight will have different elemental affinities. Just keep an eye out and you should be fine.

"Earth's main selling point is that you can use it anywhere. There are a lot of applications, but personally, I have some difficulty with working with it. See how it suits you, though."

Kotoba nodded, "Will do. I will tell you if I make any progress in using it well. Thank you again for talking with and advising me Genda-san." He smiled, "It's kind of amazing that another Persona wielder is in the same class as me. Though, I guess she did say that it was a frequent thing around here..."

"Chances are that most people that you know have Personae. I'll just say that," Madoka shrugged as he stood up and began to walk towards the exit. "I think that I'm going to go take care of some makeup work now, unless you have anything you want to say. It was pleasant talking with you, Kotoba-kun. Stay sharp."

"Ah!" Kotoba dug through his backpack for a small notebook and ripped a page out of it before getting a pen. The boy wrote a number down onto the page while quickly walking over to Madoka. "It was good talking with you too Genda-san. This might seem strange, and I do not know if you will ever need to, but here is my cell phone number if you ever need me for anything. Nagashima seems to be dangerous and surprising, and being able to call for aid is good, even if you don't end up needing to." Kotoba then held out the paper towards Madoka. It felt odd giving out his number so suddenly, but it seemed like a good idea.

"Eh? Alright, man. If anything ever comes up, I'll be sure to call," Madoka said, immediately entering the number into his cell phone. He put a thoughtful face on before he sent Kotoba a text. "There. Texted you. That way you have my number too."

Madoka grinned. "Well, it was nice to meet you, man. I hope that you feel comfortable at school and stuff. Welcome on board."
