He's serious...

You're going to lead him to the secret garden?

We agreed you wouldn't talk at school today! And I don't plan on saying everything.

Kotoba frowned a bit and looked at the ground. "Alright. Though, umm..." Here goes. "I don't know if it still counts as trouble since it had to do with something some time ago." The boy looked over at Madoka. "Have you ever heard anything about broken places or demolished areas in Nagashima?"

Broken places, said the boy. That was a weird thing to ask for. Hopefully, Kotoba wouldn't be able to hear the gears in Madoka's head whirring as they tried to process the shy boy's inquiry. "Haa...? Broken places? Yeah. They're everywhere. Off the top of the my head, I can think of the old Ichiban foundry, a lot of old shops in the backstreets and..."

"You have a Persona, right?!"

Having been startled by the sudden accusation, Kotoba could only blurt out the first thing that came to mind, and that was the truth. "Y-Yes?" After a few moments, the boy's eyes widened in fear as he realized what he had just admitted to his classmate.

Kotoba then got up into a crouch, eyes nervously scanning the area, preparing to run away if his Madoka suddenly decided that he was ripe for lynching. He didn't seem the type, but you can never really tell.

Rather than running, there's a more pressing question. Words are important, especially the ones that are chosen.

Crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrap...

I wish you would listen to me more again, despite what that girl said...

"What's that all about? Are you embarrassed about it or something?"

The boy scratched his head, pulling his own mask out seemingly from thin air, feeling at the twisted bone. He waved the mask in front of the crouching boy. "It's nothing to worry about unless you're talking to one of the hate gangs or something." Madoka paused before nodding again. "Aaaaah. So that's why. Yeah. Sorry for the scare."

After seeing the mask of warped bone, Kotoba sighed and slumped forward onto his knees. "It's...it's alright. I sort of scared myself by being stupid. Apologies for my reaction Genda-san." Kotoba reached into one of his pants pockets and took out his black flu mask, holding it up so Madoka could see. "If we are showing them, this is mine. And I guess I don't need to explain about the broken area if you have one as well."

"Yeah. The ruins is what we call them. From the looks of it, you haven't spent too much time with your Persona, huh?" Madoka said, shrugging slightly. He allowed his mask to fade off. "Just a feeling. Do you go back to the ruins or something?"

Kotoba nodded, "I've only been in contact with my Persona for a week." He put his own mask back into his pocket after Madoka's disappeared strangely. "Well, I have not been to the ruins since I woke up there. Though, I kind of want to return there and try something out. I got an idea from Alraune after talking with her, but it's dangerous if it umm... does not follow the plan."

The kneeling was getting uncomfortable for him, so the boy got back into a normal sitting position, one of the cross-legged variety. "It's mostly dangerous because I do not own nor can construct a true weapon. If it works though, then that won't be such a pressing need on future visits... The plan is to throw power into an object so that it becomes a weapon." Kotoba then looked up at his classmate, the expression on his face begging for opinions.

"Hm. So you mean like this?" Madoka stomped on the floor, imbuing his step with a burst of Magna. Though he still felt the wave of nausea, he bit it back and steadied himself. As he removed his foot, a baton rose out of the floor. It was a bit flashy and the weapon was a bit crude, but Madoka lived for flashy. He grinned. "You could do that easily. But watch out when you're in there. I hear that there's a Reaper-type character who will kill you if you stay too long. If you hear the sound of chains, then that's your cue to hightail it out of there."

"Woah...Genda-san..." Kotoba could only look on in amazement as Madoka generated a weapon from the school's rooftop. "If that's possible, then there's a really good chance my idea will work!" Kotoba's face fell as Madoka mentioned the Reaper and made a note of it in his head. "Well...I won't get too far away from the entrance level then...and I'll run if I hear chains. But how long is too long?"

"Hm... Too long would be... I dunno. It varies. The Reaper is a pretty whimsical guy, I think, so sometimes you could be there for a few hours, but that's if you are really lucky. An hour should be the longest that you should bet on, and even then, you might be cut short. Something like that," Madoka shrugged. It wasn't an exact science. He picked up the baton and tried to flip it like a pen. His eyes widened a bit at the unexpected leverage, which caused the baton to hit him in the forehead.

"Ack!"

He rubbed his forehead as he smiled sheepishly. "Well, that happens sometimes. I guess you have to get a feel for your weapon before you can go along and do something spectacular. What sort of magic do you have on you, by the way?"
