Takashi brushed up the bed of the wood lathe. He picked up a pneumatic blower and began to use it to clean off the nitty-gritty parts of the machine. "You could just turn it into the police. They would be able to take care of it. If it 's a student's wallet, then there should be an ID inside, unless the bully thought that it was a good idea to filch that. But toss it here and get back to work."

"Yessir." said Shinta, tossing the wallet to Takashi. He continued sweeping the floor. "I would've handed into the office myself, but they'd think I was the one who took it."

Takashi caught it and shoved it roughly into his pocket as he continued to clean the lathe. "Well I wouldn't blame them, boy. With that reputation that you're trying to foster, of fucking course you would look suspicious. What I'm trying to say is this: cut the shit, get serious, and find yourself a hobby that doesn't involve dabbling in gangs."

"A hobby, huh?" muttered Shinta, sweeping the floor. He had been thinking about checking the kendo team, especially after his trip to the ruins. He could use the training; he was a hand-to-hand brawler but thought it was a bad idea to get within grappling range of a Shadow.

Takashi glared at the boy before shaking his head. He finished up with the lathe and moved on to the next machine, paying no mind to Shinta. "Oi. Don't get lost in thought. This room isn't cleaning itself."

"Got it, sir..." said Shinta, sweeping up sawdust. Some of it went up his nose, and he let out a small sneeze. A tanned boy with green eyes and trimmed black hair leaned in. "Hey, there you are Shint-" The boy looked at the teacher and paused. "Neeeever mind..." finished the boy, quickly running off. Shinta stared at where his right-hand man was.

The boy would find a firm hand on his shoulder. Quick or not, the teacher wasn't going to deal with any shit, particularly in his shop. Takashi growled as he glanced between Shinta and the lackey, alternating his death glare. "Oi. One of Watanabe's friends? Name and class. Right now."

"Taiki Kuroda, Class 3-1. What impulse did Shinta act on this time?" asked the boy. Shinta looked balefully at Takashi. If anything, Taiki was less likely to get into trouble than Shinta.

"You know him well enough to guess, kid. Let me tell you this. I'm just as sensitive as Watanabe," Takashi jerked his thumb back to point at the sweeping boy demonstratively. He met Taiki's poisonous stare coolly. "If you have business in my shop, you had better give me prior warning and get some goggles on. Knock at the entrance or something. Don't barge in here without rhyme or reason.

"Kuroda, huh? Well, for trespassing, I'm going to have to punish you. If Watanabe gets into any more shit than he does today, you'll be hearing from me again. Keep the kid in check. Beat some reason into him. His stupidity isn't going to be cured overnight, so as his buddy, I'm trusting you to keep him in check. Got that?"

Shinta raised an eyebrow. Sensitive...? The hell's he talking about?
Taiki chuckled. "Are you kidding me? I do that already. He may be a leader, but he's impulsive as hell. It's pretty much my job to keep him in check." Shinta frowned in embarrassment. The sad part was that what Taiki Kuroda said was true. He was Shinta's right hand man, but he was there to keep Shinta from doing something really stupid.
