Oliver stared longingly at the object, her gaze ignoring even her own reflection in the glass as she imagined owning the beautiful piece of hardware. This was always the worst part about trying to be frugal with her newfound wealth. you try to be responsible, you try to reign yourself in when you see something that you ultimately don't need, but... it's just so hard not to splurge sometimes. After all, hadn't she earned something? She was having such a rough time adjusting, and now more people than just Maria were giving her heck for even thinking of stepping away from Persona business. She deserved something nice every now and then!

...it didn't change the fact that said "something" would eat up a sizable chunk of her paycheck... she could live off an allowance, sure, but what's the point of proving you can be independant if you accept handouts? It would be a dumb purchase, it wouldn't be practical, she already had one... what would her family say? Where would she even put it? Oliver shook her head and sighed. No, there was just no good reason for her to get it. And yet...

"I wish I had it..." The girl said dreamily. A passing businessman raised an eyebrow at the sight. Some random girl with blue and blonde hair in a braid with blue tights with yellow stars and planets on them, practically drooling over an entire display of kitchenware. "I want it all... the whole darn thing..." Oliver gave a sad groan. She needed something to distract her or else she was going to be leaving the shopping center with more than she could carry...

Yuuto shuffled past the fountain, only vaguely seeing everything past half-shut eyes. He could feel the weight of the small grocery bag in his hands swinging to and fro, but he couldn't bring himself to care past the fuzzy feeling that clouded his head.

Sometimes, he forgot what the lack of a sleep could do to a person. But last night he had another dream-- blood and flesh strewn all over, a thick stink of rot in the air-- and after that he couldn't get back to sleep-- cries and moans and always the little, thin voice calling mother, mother, please wake up-- because the dreams would come back. And so he lied on his back and stared at the ceiling until the sun came up and Saya called him for breakfast.

Yuuto stopped by the nearest shop. Behind the glass an array of cookware gleamed under golden spotlights, but he didn't pay attention to any of them. Sighing, he pressed his forehead to the glass and closed his eyes, savoring the cold smoothness on his forehead.

It was as good a place to sleep as any.

The distraction Oliver needed came in the form of a familiar face pressing up against the glass with her. It took a moment for Oliver to identify the boy as Yuuto. It went without saying, but he didn't carry his usual... anything, really. It was like someone or something sucked all the energy out of the poor boy. Oliver could've swore she saw just the slightest beginnings of some drool on the corner of his mouth. Was he sleeping? Oliver immediately felt horrible for the boy. Even without considering her little bit of a crush on the adorably energetic chef, the sight of such a normally vibrant person so sad and tired was heartbreaking.

"Hey... hey Yuuto... are you okay? It's me, Olivia, are you feeling alright?" The transsexual spoke in a quiet, soft tone, trying not to startle the artist as she gently shook him on the shoulder.

He's been crushed. By what, I have no idea. Although I think it may be for the same reasons as you.

For the last time, I'm fine.

Yuuto felt someone shaking him. Blearily, he opened his eyes, blinking as the light made them ache. A familiar face was looking back at him with concern in his-- or rather, her eyes.

"Olivia?" Yuuto straightened at once, feeling rather less sleepy. It had been weeks since he last saw her: she was conspicuously absent from the Cooking Club, even during the Food Fair. He'd begun to worry she might have been hurt or killed.

What a relief, eh Yuuto? Eros said. Now the two of you can be together again.

"I'm fine, Olivia," Yuuto said, ignoring Eros altogether. In the back of his head, his Persona pouted. Fine. Be that way. I'll just sit here, alone... miserable...

"You okay?" he went on, trying to make small chat. "I didn't see you around in the Cooking Club this past week." He smiled as though everything was fine, although the darkness around his eyes gave the lie to his words.

He's fine? Yeah, he's fine my left nut. He looks almost dead on his feet. I'm pretty sure he was trying to sleep on that window, and he just seems so... unlike himself. He's not fine at all!

Much like someone else in this conversation, hmm?

Oliver shook off her persona's prodding and focused on the boy before her. "Yeah, I had a... few personal issues. There was just some stuff I was trying to take care of. I'm fi-" The two words almost tumbled out of the transsexual's mouth like they were nothing. However, Oliver stopped herself before they did. She then closed her eyes, took a big, long sigh, and then looked Yuuto right in the eye sadly.

"Actually, I'm not really fine at all... and forgive me if I sound too forward but, you don't seem fine either. If you'd like, I was going to go grab some lunch so as to avoid buying... well... all of this." Oliver gave a sweeping gesture at the display. "If you're up to it... I could... maybe treat you to lunch? And while we're having lunch... well... you tell me your problems and I'll tell you yours. ...if you want, that is..."

"Oh," Yuuto said, wondering what sort of issues they were. The lightness in his head made even Olivia's most prosaic words seem surreal, like he was hearing everything in another language. He struggled to find a response, only for the words to slip away from him every time he tried to think.

Then Olivia looked at him with those eyes of hers, and he felt his heart break.

"L-lunch?" Tears sprung to Yuuto's eyes: he wiped them away almost fiercely with the flat of his hand. He was too old to cry in public, especially in front of someone offering him a favor. A sob threatened to slip out his lips: he choked it back. He didn't want Olivia to worry even more.

"Y-yeah. Lunch. I'm okay with that." His breath was shaking in his throat as he answered.

Charles stepped out from the store, carrying a bag of cutlery. The funds from the Fair had helped him get enough to restock the cooking club plus tips... for impromptu spears. As he pulled the door open, he saw two familiar looking people around the corner of the store's display, standing around talking to each other. One seemed to be choking back a little something.

"Maybe I ought give these two a little space. But at the same time, I wonder... Do these two got anything for each other."

Charles merely peeked around the corner of the display at the two, keeping himself uncharacteristically quiet. He would probably tail them if they moved anyways.

Oliver was more than a little surprised at the boy's reaction."O-oh my... Yuuto, are... are you crying? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." Oliver stopped when Yuuto continued and agreed to go with her. A small wave of relief washed over her, although she was still a little concerned.

He's so sad...

Hug him.

Wait, WHAT!?

You heard me. He's hurting, he needs a friend. And I think he wants that friend to be you. Reach out, give him a big hug, and tell him absolutely everything is going to be okay. Besides, you like him, don't you?

B-but I barely even know him! I can't just do something like that!

I say hug him. Let him squeeze you like a teddy bear. It'll work.

Oliver nervously reached out to the boy, her hand shaking a little. Finally, she closed her eyes and rested her hand on Yuuto's arm, gently rubbing it. "It... it's okay, Yuuto.." She said shakily. "What... whatever it is, you can tell me all about it while we eat... And I promise I'll try my best to listen to it all and help if I can... i-if you want me to..." The transsexual girl looked at Yuuto, finally giving a timid smile to try and relieve the tension. "Uhm... shall we?"

You should've hugged him.

I told you! I can't DO that!

Then why's your hand still on him? Hmm?

Yuuto sniffled a bit as he spoke. "It's okay, Olivia. I'm... okay." Something brushed against his wrist, and he nearly recoiled before he saw Olivia had rested her hand on his arm.

"Uh..." He flushed a very bright shade of red and looked away. His heartbeat was thumping something fierce in his head and there was this warm coiling sensation in his chest that was scary and painful and strangely wonderful all at the same time. In an attempt to save face, he tried to answer "Yes" to Olivia's "shall we?" but all that came out of his mouth was "Mmh."

Aww, look at you, you're all tongue-tied, Eros said. How adorable~

"Sorry," Yuuto said. "I meant to say, yeah. Let's go."

Charles peeked around the corner and let out a small chuckle at seeing Yuuto's face. Charles looked to the sweater he was wearing, then to Yuuto's face. Same shade, alright. Maroon. Only his sweater wasn't sweating and babbling. And being rubbed by a transsexual.

"Teenage love is a hell of a thing. These two are probably gonna make a vute couple."

But, two dudes!

"Dudes?"

Er...

"I didn't think so, Wukong."
