Zelophehad found himself standing outside the gates of the School in early morning, it had seemed that he had arrived rather... Early. This was a suprise to him, especially considering the fact that before he had ended up late because he got lost. In fact that was the entire reason he had found himself leaving so early, because he thought the same thing would happen again. Tilting his hat to the side some more, further covering his eyepatch-covered eye, he began to think about things. Life in Nagashima had been odd so far, even for Zelophehad. Not that this was particularly ba- well then again, he now had a screaming pile of burning corpses trapped in a straw man in his head. So, he guessed, it was particularly bad. Oh well, he'd deal with it. It wasn't exactly the worst thing to happen in his life, in a way Null would help him 'cope' with it so there was that. Crossing his arms Zelophehad stood still in front of the gates of the School, willing to wait patiently for it to open or for someone else to come along with whom he could converse with. What else could he do right now, really, but stand and wait. It didn't matter, Zelophehad was patient. All the time in the World could pass and he would wait, as long as he still had his Null... He then remembered, it was time to take it. Quickly he grabbed the pills from his pocket, opening the lid slowly, before pouring a couple onto his hand. Pausing briefly he looked at them, before putting them into his mouth. He swallowed, shaking his head and opening his mouth to stick his tongue out at the awful taste. It would've probably been intelligent to have a drink with them, but he had forgotten to bring one with him. He made a mental note to remember to do so in the future, though he could deal without. |

Ken had decided to head to school early today, mostly because he wanted to familiarise himself with the layout of the place a bit more. That, and there was always a chance he could bump into someone to talk to. Humming a tune, the one-armed teen adjusted his bag's strap and continued to walk, his mind wandering again as he did. Since moving into Nagashima, things had been much more lively than back in Britain, and the weather was much better to boot. The school was nice and no one really bothered him about his missing arm. Oh, and there was the whole waking up in mysterious ruins and getting the ability to summon a giant flaming bird that may or may not be part of his psyche. That too. Ken turned the corner to the school gates, and stopped as he noticed another person standing outside the gates. Seems like he wasn't the only one who decided to come in early. Approaching the person, the Brit put on a smile as he walked. "Hello there! Seems like I'm not the only one here early." Ken greeted. |

"Hm?" Zelophehad turned around to face the source of the voice that spoke, his eyes turning upon Ken. The first thing he noticed was, well, the lack of arm the other boy had, though he didn't react at all. His face remained still, not even a second glance needed. "Oh, hello there." He said, his obvious accent slipping in. Very posh, he had picked it up because of his interactions with Aliward and his parents. "Yes... I thought I would get lost on the way, so I came early." He looked back at the gates. "Seems I was wrong." He tilted his hat slightly, as it began to slip off his head, before turning his body fully around again. "Good Morning, my name is Zelophehad." He said, blankly, before bowing his head slightly in politeness. "I'm... Fairly new here. It's very nice to meet you." Zelophehad would have smiled, if he was at all capable of doing so. When one cannot truly express oneself, smiling becomes exceedingly difficult. In all likelyness he would look more scary then friendly if he tried, which he would not want to happen. He wanted friends, after all, and one did not make friends by being scary. |

"Oh, I'm pretty new here myself." Ken replied with a smile, stopping once he got closer to Zelophehad. He noticed that, in spite of his words, the other boy seemed emotionless, and also that he wore his hat rather oddly. Adjusting his glasses, he stowed his curiousity for now, instead blinking as he heard a somewhat familiar accent in the other person's speech. "I'm Ken, Ken Williams. A pleasure to meet you too, Zelophehad-san." Now where had he heard that accent before...? It was really familiar... wait, was it English? He wasn't sure, since he hadn't really heard many accents from Britain speaking Japanese. "Anyway, it is a nice morning, isn't it? Nagashima has such nice weather compared to Britain..." |

"Hm?" Britain? Was this boy, too, from his home country? Since being adopted Zelophehad hadn't really spent much time back 'home', being taken all over the world. It was just how things were, it was a lot better then his life before at least. If you were given the choice of being tested on with dangerous drugs or being taken all over the world and never staying in one place, what would you choose? Some people might even find the second one appealing... Blinking, finding himself thinking about stuff too deeply, Zelophehad opened his mouth to speak in his native tongue. "It's been so long since I saw my home, I can barely remember." The change in language only suited to further show Zelophehad's emotionless tone, though there was a more definete... Easiness in his voice. "It's been a long time since I met another from the UK, at least someone my own age." |

"Ah, I thought that was an English accent you have." Ken handled the transition between languages flawlessly, having been speaking both since he was young. Certainly, he did have trouble adjusting his writing and everyday speech to Japanese, but now he was used to it, he was easily able to transition with ease. "I'm from Wales myself, but it's nice to see I'm not the only Brit hanging around here. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised there is another person from the UK. Did you have any particular reason for moving to Nagashima? I came to live with my aunt for a bit. N-not that I mean to pry, just a bit curious, that's all." "Is there any point in trying to excuse yourself for your curiosity? It is doubtful he took offense to your question." Phoenix spoke up for the first time this morning, making Ken jump a bit in surprise. Shaking his head, he gave an apologetic grin to Zelophehad. "Sorry, zoned out for a moment." |

"Oh? No no, it's fine." Zelophehad raised his hand to his chin as he thought. Should I really say? Aliward may not like me doing so but... I do not think that this boy wishes to harm me. He has no reason to. With that he lowered his hand again, placing it at his side once more. "My Parent's work brings them all over the world, and they take me with them. They have work around this area, as such I find myself living here." He looked at Ken's smile blankly. He could never return such a thing, it was a pity. He had heard people who wanted to have a lack of emotions, but if they had truly lived without them they would realize it brings only nothing. "How about you? Why do you find yourself in this city, so far from home?" He asked, straight-faced and calm. It was becoming obviously apparent that there really wasn't many things Zelophehad could really do with his face. "Of course, as long as you yourself do not mind answering such a question." |

"Ah, moving around all the time must've been interesting. At least you got to see a lot of different people and cultures." Ken adopted a thoughtful look as Zelophehad asked the same question of him. Should he tell the whole truth, or the part truth? The whole truth would likely bring the mood down like heck, but telling only a part truth would be unfair. The whole truth it was. "Well, I was in a car accident when I was 14, and you can see the results pretty clearly." The one-armed teen gestured at his missing arm, as well as a few scars barely visible on his face in the morning light. "Turns out that in spite of how horrific the results were, my friends decided that they couldn't be seen hanging around with someone like me. So I ended up being homeschooled to avoid the acid-barbed tongues of the teenaged masses." Looking down, he let out a sigh. "Eventually, my parents got in touch with my aunt who lives here and convinced her to take care of me. She was more than happy to, and here I am." Ken finished with a slightly sad smile, trying his best to keep any sorrow he felt inside from showing. "My parents wanted to take care of me, but I wasn't really comfortable in Wales anymore." He added as an afterthought, to prevent the other boy from thinking he'd been forced to come here. |

Zelophehad shrugged. He supposed it had been interesting, and that, but he hadn't really gotten to know any people, at least not as much as he'd of liked to. People generally had found him to be weird, what with how he acted and all, especially when he showed them his injuries. He had, however, always gone to a school, even through Aliward's multiple attempts at making him be home schooled. He did truly want friends, and he wasn't going to get any sitting at home all day. "I understand, I myself have been similarly treated. Granted, I've never really been around much to get friends. Whether that's because of how I act or..." Slowly Zelophehad tilted his hat, showing his eye-patch to Ken. "I got this in an accident." Zelophehad lied, without a trace of it in his voice. He knew as much not to just outright tell people that he tore it out himself, with his bare hands... He tilted the hat back to it's original position. "People can be so mean sometimes, but that's just who they I suppose." Don't be so humble, our injury is just as bad as his! If not WORSE! You know it, don't deny it, we are you remember. You again? No, I will not debate with you over who's injuries are worse. It's petty. Then we are petty. |

"Ah... that must have been painful." Ken winced when he saw Zelophehad's eyepatch, the mystery of why the other teen wore his hat oddly solved by this simple revelation. Frowning as he felt the mood being brought down by the depressing turn, he paused, a bit surprised at how easily the other boy had revealed his injury without showing any form of emotion. He must just be good at emotional control or something. Oh well. "So... how do you find Nagashima? Seems to be a pretty exciting place compared to what I expected it to be." Needless to say, he was referring to his 'awakening'. |
