When Natsuki finished taking care of the bills after payday, often she found she still had a decent amount of money left over. Whatever didn't go into her savings went towards her geeky habits.

No matter how hard she tried, Natsuki could never quite let go of her love for comics. Even if she knew just how it would end from the first panel alone and the dialog drove her to tears of laughter, she wanted to know every twist and turn of the plot. Her current obsession was to keep up with Storm, Snow and Thunder, a complex story of political drama, war, and love set in a fantasy world. She had to admit to herself, however, that she read it mainly for the subplot of a homosexual affair between a very beautiful knight and his equally beautiful liege lord, one of the claimants to the throne.

There was one shop at Tanjiro that she trusted for the latest issues: the local Books Ayasaka outlet. This was something she did not want anyone knowing, so she made a habit of letting down her hair, never dressing the same way twice, and going only when there weren't so many people. Besides, it was boring wearing the same outfit over and over again, even if it was practical.

"Oh, a customer." A rather corpulent policeman with a bristly white beard walked towards her. The door made a jingling sound as it opened. "Come on in."

The store's interior was wide enough to fit fifty or so shelves and still have enough room for the other ten people inside to roam around without bumping into one another. Natsuki ignored most of them and headed for the comics shelf, scouring the racks for a copy of the anthology bearing Storm, Snow and Thunder. She found it lodged in between two other anthologies, and reached over to pull it out.

Only when she did so, the thick book would not budge.

"What in the...?" Frowning, Natsuki tried again, pulling with both hands. This time, the book budged-- and sent three other books falling to the floor.

"Oh crap! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Natsuki bent over to scoop up the books, only to accidentally knock over more of them when she tried to place them back on the shelves.

This was not a very good start to her weekend.

"Umm... excuse me," said a small voice of a certain blonde-haired heiress of Kirihara family. Wearing a pink, floral-patterned traditional kimono and wooden getas, Kinzaki entered the bookshop. As a part of learning experience, the heiress would have to try to integrate herself into society by exploring the town itself, starting with the shops in the shopping center.

There weren't too many people inside the shop, much to her relief. Before entering the shop, she insisted to her escorts that she could get into the shop alone, and her bodyguards had no choice other than to wait outside the shop.

As the heiress entered the bookshop, her eyes gleamed a little like a curious kid as she saw many books displayed in the shelves. Kinzaki decided to look around for a while, looking at the titles of the displayed books. Some of them were already in her possession, but for her, it was quite a refreshing experience, browsing the books on shelves like a normal civilian. And without her noticing it, she already arrived at the comic shelf.

There, she saw a woman, seemingly struggling with the books that fell from the shelf. Feeling concerned and curious, Kinzaki trotted towards the woman, making a steady clopping sounds as she walked. When she arrived, she bent down to pick a fallen book, frowning when she read the title of the book. Snow, Storm and Thunder? Never heard of it before. Perhaps it's because she lived a very sheltered live.

Regardless of the book, Kinzaki gave the woman a polite smile. "Would you like my help?" she asked, picking another book so she could put the books back into the shelf.

"Would you like my help?"

Natsuki raised her head and turned around to meet the gaze of a young girl with curly blond hair. She would have been completely unremarkable had it not been for the bright pink kimono she wore.

"Uh... Sure. Sure, you can help." Natsuki flushed a bright shade of red, embarrassed at her own clumsiness. To hide her face, she picked up two books and made a big fuss of placing them back on the shelves. She noticed the girl had picked up the copy of Storm, Snow and Thunder, and made a note to ask it back.

That is, if the girl wasn't buying it herself.

"So, what are you here for anyway?" Natsuki said to Kinzaki, trying to strike up a conversation.

"Oh..." after hearing the question, Kinzaki blushed a little. "I just come here to look around," she answered, placing back the copy of Storm, Snow and Thunder into the shelf. She had a feeling that for the sake of her innocence, it would be better for her to not open it.

"Ah, forgive me for not introducing myself earlier..." Kinzaki said apologetically. "My name is Kinzaki Kirihara. Nice to meet you," she introduced herself politely.

"Natsuki Hayashi. Pleasure to meet you." She turned around and smiled at the girl. "So, are you new here?"

Blushing slightly, Kinzaki nodded. "Y-yes, I'm still new here..." she admitted. "So please forgive me if I have done something uncouth or plain weird and strange," she said.

She looked at the displayed books, particularly at the copy of Storm, Snow and Thunder. "I wonder what kind of book is this..." she wondered to herself.

"No, no," Natsuki said. "You haven't done anything strange at all. Don't sweat it." Natsuki slipped the last few books back into the shelf, including the one she was planning to buy.

She noticed Kinzaki was now looking at the copy of Storm, Snow and Thunder with what seemed like curiosity. Was she also into books like that?

"So," she said, a little shyly, "you like that book?"

"Eh?" Kinzaki tilted her head in confusion before she looked at the cover of the book. Out of curiosity, she slowly opened the book, reading the first ten pages. As expected, her eyebrows twitched and she blushed intensely before she abruptly closed the book.

Still blushing, she looked at the woman in front of her. "What kind of book is this?" she asked. It was her first time reading such... strangely interesting thing.

Natsuki noticed the girl blush, and had to stifle a laugh. She must have come across one of "those scenes" a little too early. The same way she got started on her love of homoerotic relationships between beautiful boys.

"Oh, just a complex political drama set in a fantasy world," she said. "Nothing special." She reached out for the book, intending to take it. Much as she would like to introduce people to the joys of the war between the noble Houses Farron and Kalzen, this was not something a young girl should be reading. Look at me, Natsuki thought, getting all sanctimonious. Idly, she flipped the pages of the comic. Wonder what made her blush like th--

Oh. There it was. Her eyebrows twitched, and she blushed a deep red.

"A complex political drama set in a fantasy world...?" Kinzaki looked confused as she looked at the cover of the book. So, if it's about political drama, why would it have something like 'that' in this story? Gulping, she reopened the book again and continued to read the story. "Oh... oh my..." she covered her mouth with her hand. Her cheeks reddened. "T-this is..." she would need to close the book, but she was unable to do that because she was curious about the next pages.

When it's decided that it would be dangerous to go even further, Kinzaki closed the book again, panting heavily. Her face was red due to embarrassment. She could feel blood rushing into her head. "Oh... oh my, I never thought I'm such a pervert..." she exclaimed in bated breath. "I feel dirty..."
