Nagashima was known for its eccentricities and quirkiness, and the people of this particular town had gotten used to this kind of strangeness, but somehow, seeing a petite girl clad in traditional kimono seemed to attract unnecessary attentions from the public. The clopping sounds from her wooden geta as she walked didn't help either. It all began when a certain heiress, Kinzaki Kirihara decided to take a look around the shopping center. At first, her bodyguards seemed to be against the idea, but the heiress insisted that she had to go exploring the outside world for the sake of her future as the heiress of her family. So, her bodyguards reluctantly relented. And then, Kinzaki insisted that she would go alone without being escorted by her bodyguards. Like usual, protests came out from the mouths of her bodyguards, but after some reasoning, her bodyguards had no choice but to follow her instruction. Somehow, Kinzaki regretted not having her bodyguards escorting her, because right now, she was lost in the middle of the shopping center, and she didn't know what to do. Looking around nervously, she wished that there were some people who could help her. "Umm... a-anyone? Can someone h-help me?" she said uncertainly. Not knowing what to do and where to go, she just stood there, hoping that someone could help her. |

Wei had just completed a run to the mall to buy a paradoxical list of items: A gross of tins of caffeinated mints to replenish energy in the ruins, a new roll of supple, high-strength, high-gauge wire, and several books for class. He carried the bag he had put them all in over one shoulder, and was walking back to the bus stop when he passed by a girl in a kimono. He assumed it was some sort of advertisement thing. A gimmick. But then she asked no one in particular for help in what had to be the most lost, pathetic voice Wei had heard since...wait, no, now wasn't the time to get lost in memories of violence being visited upon the deserving. It was time to see what this young woman needed. Though she did look a little too young for him. "Hey, lady, what's with the getup? Is it festival time, or something? Because, if so, you must've taken a wrong turn, the shrine isn't in the shopping center." That came across as abrasive and cold, and Wei amended his statement. "What's wrong?" |

And then, a person came, and the heiress yelped before she took several steps behind. When that man spoke to her in somehow unfriendly tone, Kinzaki shrunk a little. "Umm... sorry. I know the shrine isn't here, and my clothing isn't for the festival. It's my normal attire..." when that person asked her what's wrong, she relaxed a bit. Still maintaining their distance, Kinzaki said shyly, "I thought that it's a better idea to explore the outside world without my escorts, so I came here alone..." she sighed. "And then, I was lost." "Well, I'm begging you, kind mister..." the heiress bowed. "Please help me..." |

Normal attire? This woman was clearly crazy. Par for the course in Nagashima. "I can hardly say no when you've asked so nicely, now can I?" Wei said, smiling, "exploration is good, but it's best to have a guide. A sherpa, if you will." He snapped his fingers. "Okay, then, my day is empty, where are you going. Kita Wei --" he pointed at himself with his thumb, "-- will guide you where you need to go, so tell me what you're looking for." |

"Thank you for your kindness, Wei-san," Kinzaki bowed deeply. "My name is Kinzaki Kirihara, nice to meet you," she introduced herself politely. "Well, I actually don't have any place in mind right now. I just want to look around and see things. Would you guide me around this area?" she asked. |

"The mall, you mean? This is Tanjiro shopping center, recognizable from the white dog mascot," he pointed to a poster featuring the lovable cartoon character, "there's a lot here, as you can see. They've got grocery stores, restaurants, book stores, hardware stores, electronics stores, fashion boutiques, and a number of specialty-interest stores." He glanced around. "It's kind of shocking how much there is here. What sort of interests do you have? We can find a store that sells things related to it." |

"Foods..." Kinzaki answered simply. Just imagining the fancy Japanese cuisines made her dreamy. Realizing that she had made a slightly silly face, she quickly shook her head. "Umm... I'm interested in foods around this place. Would you suggest any place that provides Japanese foods?" she asked. |

"Well," Wei said, "if you're looking for Ramen and the like, there are better places than the mall. The Genda family runs a good one, though don't ask for the specials. The specials are lethal." He thought for a moment. "I think there's a confectionary thing over that way," he said, then looked back at the girl, jerking his head down a branch of the main thoroughfare, "if you'll walk this way." He began to move in the indicated direction, walking slowly so that his traditional long, loping strides wouldn't leave the girl behind. |

Nodding after hearing Wei's explanation, Kinzaki followed the guy from behind. Her wooden geta made a steady clopping sound as she walked. Due to her traditional kimono, her movement was somehow restricted and her pace was kind of slow compared to Wei's. "P-Please don't be too fast, Wei-san," Kinzaki said. She tried her best to walk faster, and before she could realize it, the distance between both of them was about one meter in length. Hastily, the heiress took several steps aback while yelping. When she finally came to her senses, the distance between both of them was about ten meters in length. "Umm... sorry..." she mumbled uneasily. |

Wei stopped, looking back at her, utterly confused. "That was walking slow...What are you doing all the way over there?" He scratched his head, and then spoke louder: "You're going in the wrong direction, sister, I said it was over this way. If you're going to the hardware store, you'd head down that branch," he pointed the way she was going in. |
