In. Out. In... Kaede's eyes fluttered, and slowly, she began to wake. The first thing she noticed was that she couldn't move. It took her a moment to realize why exactly she couldn't move, but eventually, she felt the restraints. Someone must have told the staff that she might try to escape. There was an oxygen mask over her mouth... had she stopped breathing at some point? Or was it damage from the smoke? She sighed and leaned back in her bed. Never had she expected to end up in the hospital like this. Usually she was the one on the other side of the bed. "It's about time you woke up," a voice said. Kaede turned to the side, where she saw a grey haired teenager sitting up in bed, reading a book. There was a bandage around his forehead. "You're..." "Yu, for your information," the teenager said. "I called you before you decided to run off and have a breakdown." "What are you doing here?" "A few days ago, I was attacked in the ruins and gained a concussion for myself. I couldn't stay conscious enough to make it out of the ruins until yesterday," Yu said. "My brother seems to have nearly gotten himself killed looking for me. No thanks to you." Kaede didn't say anything in response. So long as the cause remained, that fate would still come to pass. She wished there were better people here with her. Yu didn't make the best company. |

Kaji looked patently awful. His eyes had relatively large bags underneath him, evidencing his lack of sleep, and if one looked closely, his breathing was erratic and someone shallow. He was wearing his regular clothes, though, and didn't seem to be a patient at the hospital. He probably should have had something done about the smoke in his lungs, but he had just taken a few healing spells and called it a day. He had more important things to do, anyway. For example, see Kaede. He knocked twice before walking into the room, quietly opening the door and glancing around the room quickly. Just Nakagawa and Kaede. He gave a short nod to Nakagawa, not really knowing the student council member very well, and walked briskly up to Kaede, pulling up a chair and sitting by her bed. The former vigilante bit his lips. "... Sorry about the restraints. I didn't want them, but they're just there as a precaution." He didn't address the elephant in the room, instead, he wore an expression of concern, and asked, "How are you feeling?" |

Sora did likewise as Kaji did, sneaking a peek into the room before he went in. One Nagakawa and one Kaji. He was a bit nervous to go on in. He'd been lucky so far with the hallucinations, not counting the still horrible nights. Sleep certainly didn't seem to like him. The whole avoiding human contact thing had turned out to be a lot more difficult than he anticipated as well. He yawned. Might as well act like he'd slept well. He went on into the room. He would have brought food or something but judging by the amount of shit they'd breathed in the day before, they'd all be too busy coughing and hacking. "Hey." He said shortly, walking behind Kaji's chair. Sora had to suppress the desire to make a 'Kaji likes bondage' comment at the mention of Kaede's restraints. It probably wouldn't have been in the best taste. Sora frowned. It was really weird seeing Kaede all tied up in a hospital bed. He wanted to say something nice, but Kaji had already asked the obvious question anyway. Speaking of Kaji... "You don't look so good either Kaji." Sora coughed. He was breathing a bit better than Kaji due to more healing, but he hadn't been able to shake the cough. He looked over at Yu, who he wasn't entirely sure he'd ever spoken to. Awkward. "We got you here as fast as we could." He said, turning back to Kaede. |

Well, at least her wish for company had been granted, though one of these people was the last person she wanted to see right now. Sora being here wasn't all that good of a thing either. She was surprised he wasn't chewing her out right now. Everyone seemed to be in pretty terrible shape, though... She narrowed their eyes. Had they not slept or something? "You guys..." Kaede coughed into the oxygen mask. She turned her head toward Kaji. "You... you stayed up all night waiting for me to wake up... didn't you... Didn't even get any medical treatment... idiot." Her eyes moved toward Sora. "And you're not fooling anyone... especially not me. As for me... I feel about as well as one can when they've been breathing in hallucinogenic smoke for several hours. I think my lungs are about as black as my wardrobe now..." She squirmed against the restraints. Christ these things were tight. Yu, who had been ignoring most of the conversation the three of them were having, suddenly spoke up. "Okawa-san, you have internet on your phone, correct? Would you mind leaving a message on Bedlam for me so my brother doesn't run off on another wild goose chase and get himself killed?" |

Kaji looked down, a bit ashamed. "I..." It was, more or less, true. He hadn't gotten any sleep, and he hadn't gotten any medical treatment. He coughed into his elbow, looking down at the floor. "I tried to sleep, but I couldn't." It was a weak excuse. He glanced back and forth between the two of them. "... I'm fine. We have more important things to talk about, anyway." He cleared his throat, which led to another cough. "A-anyway..." He was about to ask Kaede more questions when Yu asked him to make a post on Bedlam. "Oh. Sure, um..." He pulled out his phone, pulling up the bedlam app and starting to make a post in the relevant topic. He wasn't paying much attention to his typing as he did so, instead talking to Kaede more. He couldn't think of any good questions other than the obvious, and incredibly vague, one. "... What happened?" He winced when she struggled against the restraints, muttering a small apology as he sent the message onto Bedlam. |

Sora shrugged. No fooling the crazy girl apparently. "We can all discuss more unpleasant things if you'd like." He crossed his arms. What happened? He figured it was pretty obvious what had happened. Sora wished he could be as nice as Kaji, but nice words were escaping him. "So did this happen before or after you quit?" He asked, a bit of anger seeping through his voice. This wasn't the first time she'd ever predict that, but it was probably the first time she'd ever tried to force her predictions to come true. "...more importantly, why didn't you get help?" He continued, a bit of concern replacing the anger in his voice. |

Kaede was somewhat glad that Sora had decided to get to the point instead of dancing around it like Kaji was. It meant she didn't have to spend as long pretending she was okay. "Before," she said. "It was a... pretty big part of why I left... that and how fucking stupid everyone's been... and because of some personal reasons... I had a lot of reasons I left..." She gave a small cough. "As for... the other question... do you realize how people look at me...? After I left... Akiko came up to me and said he still called me Boss... and then doucheprince over there called me up and called me it again yesterday. Even now, they think of me as a leader... and with everyone losing it... how would it look if the 'leader' suddenly had to get help because she was having trouble with her Persona? Especially if that leader was someone people thought of as one of the most stable users... "I probably should have foreseen this... funny how I can never see things related to myself... just to other people," Kaede said sadly. |

Kaji couldn't help but wince at Sora's tone. He would have said something, but it didn't seem appropriate. Kaede interrupted him, anyway. A frown developed on the former vigilante's face as his former leader spoke, disappearing to be replaced by concern once again when she finished. She certainly hadn't done the smartest thing she could have, but there was no use in reprimanding her since everything had already happened. "Well, people know, and there's no reason for us to not help you now." He was thankful that she had mentioned the smoke earlier; back in the ruins, Kaji had been worried that she'd simply gone insane. "Kind of like me." Kaji bit his lip, unsure of what to say next. Sora would likely be better at this. |

"People being fucking stupid? That's a new one." Sora commented with a mildly frustrated sigh. He didn't know the details of why she left and he probably never would. It didn't matter as much now anyways. He coughed. Sora looked down at Kaji for a moment. Was that all he was going to say? His comment was short, and while it did hold merit, Sora had been hoping Kaji would have a bit more to say than that. Whatever. "That's why you didn't get help?" Sora said. "That's got to be one of the stupidest fucking reasons you could have said." He paused for a moment. Something seemed a little off with the room all of a sudden. Was something burning? Sora shook it off and continued. "If anything you being the 'leader' should have encouraged you to go get help. There's nothing wrong with it. It's the smart thing to do. It would have set a nice little example for everyone else, seeing as how the rest of us are too stupid to get help too, if we're any indication." He was certainly guilty of everything he just said as well. Of course, where as Kaede actually had people she could go to for help, Sora didn't feel that way about himself at all. "You-" He stopped, choosing not to finish. She didn't need to hear the rest of that right now. "...it doesn't really matter now that you didn't get help and Kaji's right. The real question right now is whether or not you're still unwilling to accept help." |

Kaede gained a rather pained look on her face when Sora started to scold her. She was getting a sense of deja vu from all of this. Why would that be...? Oh, right. She'd scolded Sora in much the same way before. Funny that she was on the receiving end this time around. "...I don't know," she finally said in response to Sora. "I honestly should, and it's not like everyone doesn't know that I'm bugfuck crazy now. But even still..." "You're a fool," Yu spoke up. "Go get some actual help, before you kill anyone else, Boss." "Don't call me that!" Kaede yelled, before entering another coughing fit. |
