Terra bit her bottom lip and looked around again. She had never been to a mall before, and she was completely intimidated by the massive space. All she wanted was a simply way to buy some groceries, and instead she was stuck wandering through these crowded rooms looking into bookstores, clothing stores, and all sorts of other things she did not need.

As she stared down the endless rows of useless shops, one caught her eye, drawing her to inspect it closer. When she got closer, though, she was surprised to find that the oranges, apples and other fruit on the windows were not advertising food, but instead lingerie. Her face went bright red and she had to force herself to walk away without window shopping.

On the verge of screaming in frustration, she practically threw herself onto a bench and went through her shopping list, occasionally looking up to see if she could see where to buy a particular item.

"I'm not gonna talk about Judy."
Takeo was walking through the shopping center, on his way to the grocery store to pick up some tea for his grandparents. On his way through, he noticed a girl who looked a little lost. He didn't need any assistance from Berith to decide to go over and help her. When he walked up to her, he saw the store she had been previously looking at was a lingerie store. His face became beet red, and he turned to the girl and bowed, stammering out an apology.

"S-sorry, Miss! Er..."

That was completely unnecessary.

Takeo realized that he had probably startled the girl, and he bowed once again. Takeo took a deep breath to regain his composure, but his face was still red from the embarrassment.

"Um... sorry for startling you, Miss. I j-just, um... It looks like you are lost. D-do you need any help?"

He really hope that he did not look like a creep.

Though Terra saw the man coming from a ways off, she still stared up at him, wide-eyed and confused. Who was this person, and why was his face so red? Did he have some sort of terrible disease, or perhaps he was just ridiculously shy? Or maybe he some sort of really creepy stalker, come to kidnap her and throw her into his basement where she would slowly rot away. Terra shook her head. No, that was ridiculous. Everyone knew that there were no crazy people in real life. That sort of thing only happened in the movies!

Regardless, Terra nodded when Takeo asked if she needed help. "Yes. It's my first time being in a place this big." She turned away, embarrassed. "Would you happen to know where I can buy groceries?"

"I'm not gonna talk about Judy."
Takeo breathed a sigh of relief when it seemed that this girl did not think of him as a creepy person. He then listened to her predicament and nodded.

"I know where the grocery store is, and I would be glad to show you the way, Miss."

He looked around to his sides, then leaned slightly towards the girl, as if telling some sort of secret.

"Between you and me, I only moved here a year ago, and I've lived in the country for most of my life. Big places are a little new for me as well. It is nothing to be embarrassed about, if that is what you're thinking."

What are you doing leaning towards a girl you don't even know!

Takeo almost jolted back upright. He then remembered something that he should have probably said first. He scratched the back of his head nervously.

"Oh, right. My name is Takeo Nakayama, First Year."

Terra nodded her thanks and stood up, smoothing out the shorts she was wearing today. She didn't really notice that he leaned in, but found his words to be a little unneeded. "Don't worry, I'm not embarrassed, just... Just overwhelmed is all."

This boy was an odd one, but he was the only one who was offering help, so who was she to turn it down? Smiling, she replied, "Nice to meet you Takeo-san. I am Terra Sasaki, first year as well. Thank you for doing this." She shifted her weight and waited for Takeo to lead the way.

"I'm not gonna talk about Judy."
Takeo mentally slapped his forehead at the girl's reaction.

"Ah, sorry. I did not mean to assume anything."

However, Takeo's foible didn't seem to have much of an impact, which he was relieved to notice.

"It is nice to meet you, too, Terra-san, and you are welcome."

After he introduced himself, he started to walk in the direction of the grocery store. As he walked, he turned his head around to Terra as she followed. He didn't want anything to be awkward, so he decided to strike up some conversation.

"Terra-san, I apologize in advance if I am asking anything private, but how long have you lived in Nagashima?"

She fell into step behind Takeo, smiling broadly. "No no, it's okay," she said, waving a dismissive hand. "By nine PM tonight, I shall have lived here for exactly twenty-four hours!" She beamed toward her guide.

"It's nice here. I like the way the buildings go up and up forever. Although they are a bit intimidating... And how do you guys live with so much noise all the time? Back home, the only noise we had was kids playing and the rare car. Mostly everyone either walked or rode their bikes everywhere." She giggled and skipped for a second or two.

Takeo was surprised that Terra had been here for such a short time.

"Wow. For not even a full day, and you're parents are letting you leave on your own?"

He realized that he might have stumbled into private territory. He waved his hands dismissively.

"O-of course you don't have to answer that! Sorry."

He then listened to the rest of her description of her old lifestyle, and chuckled noticing similarities with his own.

"Yes, things are a lot more noisy here. Hehe, I still ride my bicycle everywhere. When you live in a city with everything in it, it is a little impractical to drive a car around."

He kept walking, and noticed a sign that pointed to the left and said that the grocery store was in that direction. He made a left turn and continued onward, looking back to see if Terra was following.

"You really should lighten up, Takeo-san! Don't worry about it, you aren't going to offend me so easily!" She laughed into her hand and fell into stride beside him. "Besides, I don't really mind being asked questions like that. Yes, they helped set me up at Taiyoutono and co-signed for my apartment. I still rely on them, but I'm still for the most part independent."

Terra nodded at Takeo's assessment of practicality regarding cars in a big city. "Yeah, I'm going to need a bike eventually. But I need to save up before I can get one..."

She followed him around the corner, tapping her chin in thought. "So, is there anything a newcomer to Nagashima would need to know? Any particular thing that could be called 'vital information'?" She giggled to herself.

"I'm not gonna talk about Judy."
Takeo smiled and shrugged at Terra's suggestion. He was being a little tense and stiff.

"Yes. I am putting a little too much worry into it."

As soon as that sentence came out of his mouth, he felt Berith's presence again. He was a little worried what he said might have caused this. He was right.

Don't just break etiquette just because someone may say so. Manners are what makes interaction joyous and sophisticated.

If you say so...

He listened to Terra's explanation of her living situation and raised his eyebrows.

"That is certainly an interesting living situation, Terra-san. I am not judging you, of course."

Takeo was definitely not one to judge, considering his own living circumstances. He listened to Terra's thoughts on a bicycle, and nodded.

"Yes, they certainly do help with city travel. Also, bicycles have been getting cheaper these days, since more people are becoming environmentally conscious, so that is good."

He was pretty sure that was true. He wasn't entirely sure, however, since his own bike was old and was purchased at a second-hand store. It still worked really well for it's age, though.

Takeo then put his hand to his chin and thought about what was 'vital information'. He briefly thought about the massacre in the park, and was going to tell her before he realized that he probably shouldn't mention anything about Persona. He also thought that it wouldn't really be too much of a warning, since there wasn't a way of predicting things like that. He instead thought of something much more useful.

"You should stay away from the back streets. It gets pretty dangerous out there. This is such a big city, so crime tends to hide out there."
