don't stare at it too long

"Nobody move! I'm warning you!"

Kyoishi, like most everyone else in the store, were all lined up against the wall, staying far, far away from the gun toting crazy men attempting to rob the store. Kyoishi frowned. If this were the ruins he'd have long since defeated the group. It was far too dangerous to try and use his Persona in public though. They didn't need another event like what happened in the park.

He looked over to his left, noting that the woman next to him was trying to dial the police.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" One of the thugs crept up to the woman, grabbed her phone, and stomped it on the ground with his foot. The 'leader' of the thugs marched over toward the crowd.

"If we catch any of you trying to call for help, I won't hesitate to use my 'power' on you." The people around Kyoishi broke out into murmurs, many of them discussing the event that happened in the park. Was this man a 'magic' user as well? They certainly couldn't stand up against anyone with that kind of power.

Kyoishi rolled his eyes. Were people out there actually using that as an excuse now? Threatening people with their non-existent persona? The event in the park had certainly made them bold. Another side effect of that terrible incident he supposed.

He frowned. If one of them just walked over close enough to him, he could take them down using the techniques Takashi had taught him.

Shit, shit, shit! Kira was curled up in a circular shirt rack, biding her time. The store was her go-to for bargain basement movies and replacement clothing after too many close calls in the ruins. She supposed the crime rate in Nagashima only made the current situation inevitable, but what was driving her up the wall was the modus operandi. The park incident was bad enough- these clowns were doing their darnedest to ruin any chance of proving they weren't all evil bastards.

The only thing keeping her from bolting out there and calling their bluff was that they were armed, and surrounded by potential hostages. She could conceivably eliminate them all with Megidola, but the raw power would make it very likely someone would get caught in the blast, and she wasn't ready to kill someone yet.

Not like I can go out and use my persona, either- scaring them might convince them to take a human shield, and I really don't want someone recognizing me later... She patted herself down, looking for something that could conceivably be used to fight with. Even in the shaded corner, she could see the pink coloration when she drew it from her pocket.

...Well, dignity never was part of the persona deal. Thank you, Tsukasa. Reaching for a large hoodie off the rack around her and an extra length skirt, she quickly donned the three objects and began casting a speed spell on herself. Whatever I do, I need to be really fast about it... She winced at the feel of stitches of her mask brushing against her face.

Content that her identity was completely concealed and that the rack's abundance of pink was proper camouflage, she peeked out through the clothing to evaluate the positioning of the crooks. She just needed one next to a clothing rack that wasn't being watched by the other thugs.

WHERE THE FUCK IS MARIO
Goddammit, really? She was supposed to lay low for now. That meant not wearing a full on clan regalia, so she had gone to the store to check out the situation, only to be stuck in this moment, Dressed in her black shirt and blue jeans, she looked every part a civilian, until you noticed the long blade strapped to her back.

Stepping forward she frowned at the guards. "I'm not scared of you. Just try and shoot me. Just try it." The Samurai kept her hands balled into fists. This wasn't going to be what people thought of Persona Users, but she would use force if she really had to.

Takashi was crouched behind a rack if , trying to avoid the attention of the thugs that had just shown up.
I can't do anything to help these people, can I? I can't use my persona in public, and it's not exactly like I brought a sword with me.

When one of the thugs claimed to have a "Power", this only pushed his chances of being anything other than a victim or a hostage down to zero.
"I.. is he really a persona user?" He whispered, hearing his own voice calmed him a bit.
"He's wearing a mask."
I'm pretty sure that non magical criminals wear ski-masks, not just the persona using ones.
"Maybe we could charm one into handing his gun over?"
Only as a last resort.
Takashi was seriously considering putting his mask on and using Marin Karin on someone, if he had to.

Well. This is awkward.

Soichiro Sugawara-- or as he called himself nowadays, Masahiro Tatsumi-- pondered on the horrendous timing of the bank robbery as one of the gunmen gingerly approached him. He offered no resistance as they tied his hands together pushed him against the wall. Resistance would only end in death, he knew: even if he was able to wrest a gun from one of the thugs, the rest would riddle him full of holes before he even fired a single shot.

But more importantly, one of the thugs had mentioned a "power" she held. In the convenience stores and dimly-lit bars he regularly went to, he heard whispers of people who could manipulate the very forces of the elements and summon spirit warriors to aid them. Some of them called it "the Power", pronouncing the words with mixed fear and awe.

Now why does that sound so familiar? he thought, smiling to himself. Apparently one of the thugs saw, for the next thing he knew a hand slammed his face into the wall. Stars winked in his eyes as the man behind him pulled him away. He tasted blood on his swollen lips. Through the throbbing pain, he heard a voice.

"What's so funny, huh, old man? You think this is a fucking joke?!" Cold steel touched Soichiro's face. He could see the black rectangle of a pistol barrel pressed to his head.

For a few tense minutes, the only sound was the two men's breathing.

Then the thug lowered the weapon and pushed Soichiro back against the wall, mumbling something about him "not being worth killing" as he left. Yet through the haze of pain, Soichiro's question remained.

Was the girl bluffing, insane, or telling the truth?

Kyoishi dully noted the fact that there were several other persona users in the store with him. He caught a strange flash of pink from one of the clothing racks as well. It would seem that most of them were formulating their own plans for escape. With all of them together, it didn't seem like it would be impossible to take them down.

One of the thugs walked over to the one clothing rack, seemingly the only one who had heard something out of the ordinary. Kyoishi felt nervous. He could try and help distract the rest of them or simply wait. The latter was no doubt less dangerous.

Calm down. I can do this now. I'm strong.

"Um, e-excuse me, but what do you mean by 'power'?"

"What's that kid?" The leader and most of the thugs turn toward Kyoishi, several of them pointing their guns at him.

"Did you not hear about what happened in the park the other day? I'm saying I can dismember you just like those punks did in the park."

"I-is that so?"

Kira smirked from behind her mask. Several of the people present had begun to distract the thugs, and she used that time to cast another masukukaja on herself. Steady now... Glancing through a small gap between the clothing, she waited as one of the goons had approached her position. A final casting of her speed buff left her feeling ready for it.

With nobody looking her way, Kira's hands shot out of the clothing rack. One aimed to wrap around the crook's mouth, both to keep them from screaming and to yank them in so they were out of sight. The other drew her bokken from her backpack. With a weak amount of healing energy charged into her weapon to ensure no permanent damage, she attempted to slam its hilt into their head three times in rapid succession to render them unconscious.

The threat didn't feel like it carried any weight, which was why Hoshiko closed the distance between her and the thug threatening Kyoshi. Her senses picked up a brief sound and noticed it was Kira's bokken slamming against the thug's head. She began to speak again to cover it up, offering a nod to the teen.

"Well. If you have the power why don't you show me. I'm not scared." She didn't draw her sword but stood almost normally. "Go on. Show me your power." The samurai mocked a yawn. "I haven't got all day though, so you better make this quick."

Takashi watched as Hoshiko approached the thug menacing Kyoshi, and it was making him sick he felt like he should help, but he couldn't move, his heartbeat was deafening to his own ears, crashing through his body every second, and every breath was a bit faster than the one before it, his glasses were hanging limply around his his neck, his mask appearing in his shaking hands.
This is it, this is really it.
"Can we really do it?"
If I don't do this people will die, then why can't I move?

Those women, are they persona users?
Calm down put my mask on, and when the thug moves, I pounce on him and hope marin karin works. I.. it's the only way.

"I won't let them hurt me. I wont let them hurt anyone." he whispered again a bit louder than before, almost slipping back into his normal voice, as he gets ready to pounce out from under the rack.

Soichiro listened to the conversation between the thug and the two others, craning his head to catch a peek at them. One of them was attempting to goad the other into showing off her "Power", whatever it was.

Well, now. This is interesting. Hopefully the thug would act soon, and prove his suspicions right or wrong.
