Kouji quite liked archery. It reminded him of elves, which initially was more or less why he had joined the club. He was one of the team's more frequently practicing archers, and he made a point of showing up to scheduled practice whenever he could. Especially now, since he had decided to become stronger, it was important to train to the best of his abilities. He only wished more people would show up for practice, and more often at that. Kouji liked being around people.

Dressed in the traditional gear and carrying his own bow, Kouji walked onto the shooting range and was pleased to find three other people there. Two boys and a girl. He waved at them and smiled.

"Good afternoon!" he greeted them cheerfully. "How are all of you today?" Kouji was always happy to see people, even in small amounts. Every single person was amazing in their own right, after all.

One of the boys Kouji recognized as the captain of the archery club, and the boy bowed to him accordingly.

"Good afternoon, captain!"

He gave a grin to his friend. "Practice makes perfect. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it Kumori-san." As he went back to throwing Treo picked his bow back up, not before turning back to Michi. "You can tell us anything Hargrave-san. I know I might not be much of a friend, but I want to at least hear you out."

As Kouji entered the shooting range, Treo was aiming up his next arrow. Pulling the large bow back, he let fly, scoring a bullseye. "Little bit of focus, little bit of math, one success." He turned to see the boy and bowed politely. "I'm Treo Ashdown, a friend of Kumori-san pleased to meet you."

"Afternoon, Sakuma-san," he said automatically even before Kouji spoke up. It didn't take much to guess at who was there, even though he paid little attention to the specific presence. There were only so many people in the archery team and even less that regularly attended practice. When he finally hit a bull's eye with a knife, he snapped his fingers to recall them.

As they drifted back, he altered their course, causing them to float on his finger and stack up on top of one another. It was a minor amusement that he had practiced thoroughly in the ruins. "Ashdown-san, this is Kouji Sakuma-san."

Michi watched the boys talk. The newcomer, she didn't recognize.

Oh good, a distraction... Maybe I can sneak off. People are such a bother sometimes.

Carefully, Michi took a small step backward, inching toward the trees surrounding the archery range. At first glance she looked like she was still, but careful observation showed that she was very slowly moving away.

"Pleased to meet you as well, Ashdown-san!" said Kouji enthusiastically, returning the polite bow. "It's great to meet one of Captain's friends." He smiled widely. "Have you decided to join the archery club?" Kouji eyed Treo's attire that had made him come to that conclusion. "That's great! We could always use more people!"

His eyes fell on Kumori's knives, which were floating, and thought to himself 'you know, if I hadn't learned about the existence of such powers beforehand, that might have surprised me a little.' He decided not to bring up the issue. Surely Captain knew what he was doing.

His eyes fell instead on the dark-haired girl, and he waved at her. "Nice to meet you as well! What's your name?"

Treo gave a small nod. Taking an arrow from his quiver he drew it back, nailing another bulls eye with a grin. "I'd like to be able to know how to use a bow. I don't usually use weapons but it might be wise to know how to.. you know... just in case." He didn't know of Kouji's persona, but seeing as he didn't react to Kumori's spell gathering, it seemed he was in the company of other users.

Kumori gave him the boy's name and he bowed once more. "I'll look forward to working with you!" Noticing Michi out of the corner of his eye, he spoke once. "Hargrave-san, are you alright?"

Kumori channeled a force spell through the knives, causing them to shift so they floated in the air horizontal to the flood. He used a mix of gravity and force spells to send them floating off slowly towards where Michi was headed.

Judging by how no one was reacting to Kumori's floating knives, Kouji assumed everyone at the shooting range for the time being was at least aware of the existence of Personae. He was beginning to wonder how many of them there were; people who had gone into the ruins and come out with a Persona.

"You're already very good with the bow and arrow, Ashdown-san," he commented, looking at the arrow Treo had shot, now lodged firmly in the bulls eye. "It's hard to tell you're only just beginning!" Treo was a lot better than Kouji had been when he first started. On one hand, Kouji found it amazing and admired his senpai's skill, on the other hand, being surpassed so easily caused an uncomfortable, sinking feeling in his chest. Not out of jealousy or spite, but because he suddenly felt very small and insignificant.

He turned towards where Michi was standing, and suffered a small heart attack. Although they were going slow enough to easily be dodged, seeing a bunch of knives coming at someone was still extremely alarming. "C-Captain!" Kouji called out. "With all due respect, please don't point sharp objects at people!"

Hearing Michi's dismissal of herself, he frowned, and walked over to her, being careful not to get in the way of the knives. "Don't say that, Hargrave-san!" said Kouji, assuming what Treo had called her was her name. "Nobody's nobody! Everyone's somebody!"

It was amazing how, despite the lack of actual physical appearance, Cupid could somehow make his sarcastic expression be felt.

"...What I mean is, I'm asking because I care," Kouji smiled at Michi. "I want to be friends."

Treo gave a small smile and scratched his head. "Well... I've had practice with my aim." The teen made a gun with his finger and aimed down the range, shooting an imaginary bullet. "Doesn't matter what type of ranged weapon you use, if you've got the aim down, its just like riding a bike." He realized that this may have been showing up Kouji a little and patted his shoulder.

"Don't worry, I'm sure its beginners luck." He aimed another arrow and fired, only for it to go wide and miss the target. "...yep. Beginners luck." He sighed, staring at the arrow. Michi's slow escape was noted as the teen set down his arrows. "No. You're somebody and that's all that matters." Kouji's speech finished Treo's point nicely, so he left it to the friendlier boy.

"If you've got a problem Hargrave-san, do not be afraid to tell us about it. I wouldn't want to exclude anyone." He gave a small grin and nodded his head.
