Oh my God, I LEFT THE STOVE ON AT HOME!

Sanjuro stormed into the plainly named Skate Shop, putting on his employee name tag. His boss looked him. "Whoa, Sanjuro-kun. You're pissed- that's not like ya. What's wrong?" Sanjuro picked up a broken skateboard from a pile and began fixing it. "My brother came to town." "Uh boy. You ain't exactly chummy with your bro?" "He thinks he's better than everybody." Sanjuro put in earbuds, and started playing The Offspring, irritated with the morning's events. 'Like the latest fashion...like a spreadin' disease.....The kids are strappin' on their way to the classroom... Getting weapons with the greatest of ease |

Hikaru walked into the shop, a rediculous amount of money in his pocket for someone his age. He had left his, brand new, skateboard in the ruins and needed to buy a new one. He was kind of annoyed, since he was hardly able to get used to it, but it wasn't as if he was low on money. Being from a rich family had it's benefits. Obviously. He began looking around when he noticed someone he recognized. "Heeeeey! Stoner-san!" He shouted out, loudly, at Sanjuro. "Your brother was looking for you earlier..." He continued as he walked up beside him, disregarding any rules that meant he wasn't supposed to enter an employee-only zone. He noticed he was wearing earbuds, so he pulled them out. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey! Did you hear me? Stoner-san?" He shouted in his ear, not realizing how annoying he was possibly being right then. |

Sanjuro flinched. Someone was shouting in his ear. He turned around, and saw... "Yo! Hikaru-kun! Whassup? Sanjuro turned off his mp3 player, and smiled sincerely. Finally, someone he was glad to see. |

Hikaru smiled at Sanjuro and crossed his arms. "Eh... Not much." He thought for a moment, lowering his head. "Hey, I know it's none of your business and all but..." He paused. "You alright Stoner-san? Your brother was around looking for you, told me about your pops and... Well yeah. You alright about it all?" He paused again, thinking. "I'm just worried, you know?" |

Sanjuro's grin faded and his eye twitched. "So...you met my brother?" Sanjuro set aside the skateboard. "I don't give a damn if the old man's dying. He sent me off to live with my uncle the second someone in school caught me getting high in the boy's bathroom. Didn't ask if something was wrong, didn't ask why I was smoking pot. Just kicked me out and forgot about me." Sanjuro rolled his eyes. "And don't get me started on my brother. Christ almighty, that guys is a friggin' douche. Egotistical, vain, self-righteous, serial suck-up....and the favorite son of the family." (At this point, Sanjuro began waving his hands to emphasize his words) "Do you know what's it like, always being second rate? Always being outdone, outclassed, and outranked?" |

Hikaru nodded slowly. "... Yeah, I kinda do." He said, bluntly. He sat down on a nearby table before he continued. "Both my sisters are better then me, Kyomu and Minori. By the time Minori was my age she had already been moved up a year, Kyomu was offered but she turned it down. They're both smarter then me, they're probably both be more succesful then me. But you know..." He shrugged. "I just don't give a shit. If your brother's really an ass like you say, then he's not outdone you in any way." He smirked. "My father... Well I don't get along well with him either. All this shit I done, the stunts I like doing... He hates it. Always telling me off, arguing with me... When he's home." He shrugged again. "I don't give a shit about that either. I'm happy." He crossed his arms and shook his head. "I don't think you're telling the truth about not giving a damn about your dad's death, because I know for sure that I would give a hell of a lot of damns if my dad was dying. Despite everything. Hell I'd bet you still care a bit about your brother, he can't be all bad. I know I care about Kyomu, despite all the shit she's done. Hell I care about her more because of it, it's not as if she's like that for no reason. It might be the same for your brother. Do you think he's all those things for absolutely no reason...? I doubt he is." He jumped onto his feet and stood back beside Sanjuro. "I'm not saying your situation's anything like mine, Stoner-san, I'd just like you to put things into perspective." He thought for a few moments, staring blankly into nothingness. "When my family was attack it made me realize that I cared about them all more then what I would of admitted to before Enough to kill." He paused for a few more moments, thinking. "I'm pretty sure at least your father cares for you a little bit, to send your brother all the way out here. He's dying, man. A dying man has regrets, regrets he wants to make better before his life ends." The boy laughed. "Man I went on for a bit there, didn't I? Well... I'm just saying man. I may be young, but I ain't no kid. I'm wiser then I look, you know?" He boasted. There was nothing he liked to do more then boast about more then how grown up he was. |

"Heh...maybe you're right. But I don't wanna go back...I don't want to watch my dad die,. Plus, my brother would probably rub it in my face that he was right." Sanjuro suddenly let the whole bit about Hikaru's family getting attacked, and started getting nervous for him. "Uh....so...what happened with that stuff with Kakeru?" |

"That's selfish, Stoner-san." Hikaru said bluntly. "Are you really going to let your dad die with regrets just because of stupid reasons like that?" He shook his head disapprovingly. "Not cool man. So what if your brother rubs stuff in your face? You said yourself that he's an ass, so ignore him. As for not wanting to see your dad die... Well, would you want to die without someone that you cared nearby to say farewell? I wouldn't..." He remained silent at Sanjuro's question for a while before speaking. "I let him live, he's too pathetic to kill." |

"Yeah. I...I guess I am being selfish." Sanjuro was mentally reeling. Wow... thought Sanjuro. I just got called out by a 13 year old... Sanjuro let out a breath of relief when Hikaru told him he hadn't decided to kill Kakeru. "Hey, has Kyomu gotten better? I haven't heard anything as of late..." |

Hikaru lowered his head at the mention of Kyomu. "I've got no clue. Last time a saw her was a week ago now, when she headed out to school in her wheelchair. Apparently she got to school, but after... None of my family has seen her. I've got no clue where she is, and Minori's freaking out. She blames herself..." He sighed as he sat down again. "I'm worried something happened to her. She might of gone to the ruins, but if she had I couldn't find her... Her body... when I did a run through." He smiled. "I guess that means she's probably still alright though, yeah?" |
