A tetsubo? I can certainly do a thing there; I can also use a variety of materials to adjust the weight and balance -- If you want, I can prepare a two-piece solution with a heavy, durable core and a more lightweight aluminum outer section with spikes and whatnot.

(I'm kind of pushing the aluminum for this sort of thing. Properly handled it's both light and strong -- figure if it's good enough for fighter jets, it's good enough for melee weapons.)

How heavy are you thinking?

You don't need to worry about it. I'm going to cast the outside, so I can make it look like almost anything. The real trick will be reinforcing the spikes so they don't bend.

Actually, I've got an idea that might be somewhat difficult to implement, and increase the price a bit, but would allow you to adjust the weight yourself after construction. It would be a larger up-front cost, but you wouldn't have to bring it in to make it heavier once your training pays off. Would you be interested in that?

You'll have to give me some time to figure out how to strip the magnesium out of it and remove the printing from the side -- just about all "aluminum" cans are actually a magnesium-aluminum alloy -- and I need to talk to Wells-san about finding books detailing the proper metallurgical techniques.

Let's call it 7k for the experimental version. That comes with a case for the extra pieces you'll need and the standard warranty (free repair the first time, either free repair or a refund the next.)

Still interested?

Well, I kind of got bogged down in side-projects recently -- favors for people and whatnot -- so it might take me a couple of days (a bit of bowyer work to do by monday, and some electronics work for tomorrow that I'm hoping not to make a complete hash of but am excited to do nonetheless.) I need to make some molds for weights, forge the haft, and put together and case-harden the spiked shell.

Come by Saturday, and I'll have it ready.
