I need the dimensions of the string you're getting and the bolts you're going to buy. I managed to secure some time in the wood shop later tonight, so it would be really helpful to know how big to make them.

Also (long shot,) you wouldn't happen to have electricity magic (zio spells) would you?

would you be able to swing by this afternoon with Rekka? I've worked up a bit of bronze and fashioned it into a core for the sword and will have the edge put together soon enough.

6.5k yen for the staff and the metal-plated gloves is reasonable.

There goes all my fight club money... thought Shinta glumly as he hit the send button.

Sorry, no lightning magic here. Just Light.

The String shall be standard. I'm purchasing it from here, their site has the full set of dimensions. As long as it's a standard, 68kg draw strength there shouldn't be a problem.

For bolts? After doing some research? I've decided to go with standard 100gr, 50.8cm bolts.

Is that useful? I'll take the bow for now, but for the sword later, would you need any special information when that time comes?

Well, there goes my idea for an electric drawing system. No big deal, just thought it might be interesting.

You have no idea how glad I am to have a customer who deals with actual numbers. I've got the stock and a recurve lath put together. Just need to get the windlass mechanism installed and it should be ready.

As for the sword, I'll need a general type of blade -- sabre, scimitar, rapier, katana, kodachi, whatever -- and your height. A preference on weight would also be handy, but I'm pretty good at guessing that, so it's not as much of a thing.

Excellent. Come on down, and I'll get you set up. The gloves are a bit on the large side, so I'd recommend getting some boxing tape to wear underneath them.

I see. That must be a real pain to deal with.

Anyways, I'm just shy of 155 CM in height. And A Katana would be closest to what I'm familiar with.

It would also run to about 10,000 Yen -- the proper forging technique is rather time-consuming and requires me to work with some materials which are a bit toxic to me. I'm a little reluctant to do it.

If you want something of similar shape and near-comparable sharpness, I can work up a scimitar, sabre, or shamshir for much cheaper, though it might be slightly less flexible.

Sorry, I'd prefer to stand firm on this unless it's absolutely out of the question.

I'm in no rush for it, so the time doesn't matter to me. I really don't want to expose you over toxic stuff just for my weapon, but if you're up for it, I'm willing to pay extra in recognition for how much trouble it'd be for you?

It's fine, and actually already reflected in the price (though, honestly, I'm not allergic to money.) It's just that tamahagane gives me a bit of trouble due to the moisture in the clay and the fact that it requires about 72 hours of near-constant attention every time I do another batch. Let me see if I can make arrangements to get some worked up. Might take me a couple weeks.
