Hi, there. So, I heard you make weapons.
Can you like, make me a sword? Not anything special, like a katana. Just something that's light and easy to use but still does a reasonable amount of damage. That way I won't throw out my spine when I'm swinging it around.

Hello, I saw your thread about providing weapons.
I'd like to request a high quality katana, if possible. Its price is no issue. Preferentially an exact copy of my current one, of which a picture and specifications you may find here.
Apologies for the trouble and thank you in advance.

I understand.
Benkei, for what it's worth, all of those awful things you're thinking about me right now? I probably agree with all of them. I'm sorry. And that doesn't change a fucking thing, so, I guess there's nothing else to say.
I'll hold onto the axe in case you ever need a spare badly enough to ask for it back.

So many orders. Damn, it might take me a moment to get to all these.
@ThisMachineKillsShadows
A sword's easier for me than an axe. I've been getting better at carving, but metal's my primary medium. I can knock a bit off the cost if you want an axe, because the only thing I'll be absolutely sure of is the head, not the haft.
Or, I guess if you want a full-metal axe, I could make one of those. Might be a bit on the heavy side. Let me know what you want -- I'll need to take a few measurements and whatnot before getting to work.

Just a quick overview --
Zweihander - 7.5k Yen Wood-Hafted Axe - 4.7k Yen Full-metal axe - 6.1k Yen
All orders come with two free repairs and a full refund on the third breakage. Let me know what you're after and we can get started.

I need more information before I can quote you a price: What kind of sword were you thinking? Something primarily for stabbing, or for cutting? What sort of fighting style do you use? How long were you thinking?
At the moment, it sounds like you might want a rapier or a sabre -- both are fairly light, so they would certainly avoid throwing out your back. The damage will depend on the weight of the weapon and a number of other factors (curvature for slashing; cross-section for stabbing.)
Get this information to me, and I can give you a price quote.

I've got some notes from the last time I made a sword, and I've got another order for a katana and kodachi already. I can prepare the steel at the same time as those, but it won't drive the cost down significantly, I'm afraid (folding steel is hell on the wrists, to tell the truth, and I can't really put an ice pack on them.)
I'm afraid it may be on the order of 10k Yen. It might be a week before I can get it complete, and you'll need to provide your own hilt-wrapping. Let me know if this works for you.

Machi blinked several times in confusion while staring at the price offered for the high quality katana. Was... Was that correct? How... She was expecting something in the high hundreds of thousands at the very least... "..."
Man, now she felt bad.

I'm not in a rush, please take as long as you need. Fortunately my original one is still in perfect working order.
Seeing the strain caused by this, in contrast with the price offered, I'm willing to pay double as tip for what I undoubtedly believe will be an excellent service.

It's an interesting problem to solve and I relish the challenge, honestly. Given that I scavenge nine-tenths of the material I use, the cost is fairly low.
But I'm not about to tell you not to pay more, honestly. I ain't allergic to money.

I guess I'm thinking along the lines of a standard sabre. Like those fancy swords the French used in the Revolution, iirc.
I don't know how long a sabre would be, but I know that sabres are primarily for slashing and cutting. I've been training really hard in Kendo lately and I think I'm getting better at it.

For the sake of familiarity, I'd prefer a wood-hafted one. But how much more wait we're talking? If it's not like a huge amount I think I can live with it.
Dimensions of the old one were about the same as this model.
Damn good prices though.

We can figure that out when you come in. A quick web search shows that fencing sabres are about 1.05 meters long, but that's standardized for Americans, I think...Get me your height, and I'll make one that's 6/10ths of that to get the same ratio.
Probably about 3k yen, though I offer two free repairs with a refund on the third breakage.

Can do. 4,700 Yen due on completion. I've got a bit of a backlog, so it may take me five or six days to get the haft lathed and carved. I'll have to get Kouno-sensei to unlock the woodshop for me, and that might take a while.

I'm 5'8. I know this because apparently, I'm taller than just about everyone in my class.
How about I pay you in advance? How does that sound?
