I'm actually not that torn up about it. Things happen when they happen.
Thanks for the cat, though. It's very funny.

Well...I guess I could do something, for you.
Don't worry about daily installments, though, I mean, we can work something out, but you don't need to put yourself out on my account.
I'm not keeping it at the metalworks, though. You know the shrine on Matechi Street? The one with the pretty heavy tree cover? I'll PM you when I've made it and we'll meet there.
How does that sound?

The forge will be back up and running in three days. Feels like months since I did anything productive.
Now taking new orders.

I'm learning to use a sword, so I'd like a katana. I can pay for it easily enough, so there won't be a problem there.
Tell me when you want to talk and I'll be there, whether the sword is ready or not.

Sure. Come on by on Sunday in the afternoon.

I think I'll be ready to talk. That should be easy -- I still have all my notes from when I made one for Samurakami-san, though I could also try to cook up a different grade of steel to use to make it lighter without sacrificing durability.
Would you be able to come on by Saturday after classes?

I might need a sword eventually. But for now I have to ask, do you do crossbows?
What would the damages be for either?

It might take me a little while to figure out a crossbow, but I can get researching. I've melded a shopping cart and lawnmower into a single object before, I can probably do a crossbow.
As for damage, it kind of varies. A longer, heavier sword would do more damage, but would be difficult to wield. This is because it's got a longer arc, and so the tip of it can gain more momentum in its swing -- stabbing's a different beast, and depends more on accuracy and the shape of the blade than the weapon, tapered blades tend to do more because they open the wound up -- just like how a taller person (so they've got longer limbs) can punch harder than someone of equal strength.
A crossbow would depend more on the amount of potential energy stored up in the string: a longer "bow" part can provide more newtons of force, but might make aiming awkward and would make it impossible to hide. Likewise, if the string's the right material, it can be drawn back farther. It also kind of depends on the kind of bolt you're using -- different ones would have different penetration.
Looking at the materials, I'd normally charge 8.5k for this kind of thing, but if you go and grab the string and give me the measurement for it, as well as a measurement for the bolts you want to use, and I can maybe get one put together for 6k.
I kind of like learning new projects, and it'll be a bit of an experiment for me, as well. I do free repairs and/or replacements the first time and an offer of a full refund on the third breakage. Sound good to you?

Yeah, I actually meant how much would it cost me. Good to know, I guess. Still that's more than I'd expect to have to pay for a deadly weapon.
I'll see what I can do about finding the necessary supplies. It'd save me some cash, and I should at least work on my understanding of this if I'm going to use it properly. It all sounds fine by me.

I'll be there. And I'm fine with whatever sort of sword you made for Samurakami-san. If it's heavy, I'll just work until I adapt to it. It's going to be a bit of a while until I learn enough swordsmanship to actually use it, anyway.

Yo, Krishna, do you make Axes? I'm going to be looking for a new one soon. Failing that? Do you do western-style Zweihander swords?

I'm leaving that axe you gave me in the training center. Have someone come get it or leave it until it rusts, makes no damn difference to me now.
