Hey, Rick, welcome! I had problems with the chat as well when I joined. Generally, it will give you the option to sign up for Chatango -- I had to register. So, you might have to as well. It's not too much of a hassle, honestly, and being able to access the chat really helps you get into the game. |

Well, Chatango still doesn't work after making an account, so I'm installing Skype. |

Yo, Rick. Welcome to the site and stuff. Out of curiosity, are you using Firefox and if you are which version? I know that occasionally I get this problem with Chatango. My best guess (which is coming from someone who is definitely not a tech expert) is that Firefox is caching flash files weirdly and keeps your computer from being able to connect to the chatango server. I use the latest version of Firefox, which runs a separate program called Plugin-Container along with Firefox to keep Firefox from crashing so much. My usual fix for when I get this program is to go into Task Manager and end the plugin-container.exe process, which crashes Flash and clears out those Flash files. Refreshing a page will start that program up again and run a flash process again, and usually fixes my problem. I'd also try clearing your cache and cookies, 'cause those like causing problems too. Of course, chatango may just not be connecting because you have a slow connection. |

/late But seriously, try the stuff fface suggested. It's really much easier to stay on top of things in this forum if you're in the chatroom. |

Alright, so after days of trying, I cleared my cache, shut down plugincontainer, and even used IE for the first time since '09. And I can conclude that it's probably my shitty connection. |
