Arch Chancellor Northern Chittowa has taken over writing updates for the FRA. He was also supposed to be responsible for posting them on member regions forums, but seems not to, so here they are:

From the office of the Arch-Chancellor
Good day everyone,
Firstly, may i say that it is my pleasure to be conducting this small update as your newly elected Arch-Chancellor. As one of the founders of this organisation i take pride in the fact that i have another chance to lead it down paths yet undiscovered. Despite this, i am also hit with a tinge of sadness. I always said i would only step back into FRA politics once again if its state was so dire that it could result in its demise if i didn’t. Unfortunately, that time is now. I stated in my manifesto that i would not let this organisation fall, and i promise you, its members, that it will not.
This term in mainly going to be one of rebuilding it has to be said and as such i plead with you to not be worried if activity cannot be seen. This is because the majority of attention will be focused in areas of the organisation hidden away from everyday view. For instance, redevelopment has already began, with the Rangers being given a new code of conduct, while the intelligence forums are also in the process of having an overhaul with a number of ideas now being implemented.
To help with this process i have also enlisted the help of two long term defenders who have agreed to come to the FRA as advisors. These are Naivetry and Sir Lans, both of which are very respected defenders who command respect. With these two new advisor's joining our team i am sure the FRA will grow stronger.
On a final note i will say to you that these reports will now become a regular occurrence. My new cabinet have been informed that they have to supply me with a report every two weeks on the progress of their respective departments. These reports will then be written up by me to present to you, our members. If you have any questions, queries or wish for any information at all on the FRA, please feel free to contact me.
Northern Chittowa. Arch-Chancellor of the Founderless Regions Alliance.

From the Office of the Arch-Chancellor
Good day everyone,
Again i must say it is a pleasure to be writing an update for you all to read. There have been huge improvements already in how the FRA works and the signs are that this is not going to stop any time soon. We have made progress of which i didn’t anticipate and to that end i must congratulate those in my Cabinet and all those who are involved in the FRA. This has been down to hard work by all of us, so well done.
My cabinet in the opening two weeks of this term have been working, under my guidance, to transform their respective departments. Sedge as my deputy has been very busy sourcing out potential new members for this alliance with a couple of potential members already being talked to at this moment in time and no doubt more will be made public on this between now and my next report.
Our intelligence service has been given a massive overhaul, with older topics being moved to create space for new ones, and housekeeping in general being the main issues at the moment. We have a number of agents out in the field, who are sending us regular information which in turn is helping the Rangers keep one step ahead of our invader foes. We have also implemented a new sector of the Intelligence agency which shall focus on the Security Council issues of the WA. This will allow us to not only keep track of important proposals, but also allows us to use this new game mechanic to our advantage.
The Rangers under Cocodian have been altered a great deal already and i think we shall start to see the benefits of his plans throughout this term. The new Companies have been created as most of you know, and a new system of procedures has been put into place already. A programme to advertise the Rangers and what they do is also in effect and hopefully this will bear fruit shortly.
Now onto some important news. Firstly thanks to the efforts of my Deputy, Sedge has managed to refound the member region of Gay successfully. After being asked for our help in the refounding by Gwenstafani, the FRA worked closely with the natives of the region to enable the refounding to go ahead without any real problems. This was work well done, and as such Gay is now a region who are safe in the knowledge that their regions future is now secure.
I am also forced to regrettably announce the resignation and departure of one of my advisor's. Sir Lans has unfortunately been forced to resign his position as advisor to the FRA due to other commitments. I would just like to thank him for his efforts and wish him well in the future. No doubt we will work together once again.
The biggest news of this last week has of course been the liberation of Belgium, of which the FRA played a very important part. I cant go into much detail regarding the planning stages due to security issues, however i will say that it was an operation that involved a large number of defenders moving into a PW’ed region only moments before the update occurred. All of this while the invader delegate was active, which is no small feat. This was a great achievement not only for the FRA, but for defender unity as a whole and for the natives of Belgium. This should also serve as a warning for invaders. No matter how secure you think you are, no matter what tactics you use, defenders will always find a way to break you down.
And that concludes the cabinet report from the Arch-Chancellors office.

I know none of you use this forum, but I still feel like posting this.

From the office of the Arch-Chancellor.
Good day everyone once more.
I must apologise for being a week late in writing this update for you all. I unfortunately had a slight accident at home last week, which meant that I was forced to have a time out from all things Nationstates.
Firstly onto the Regional Assembly. The Assembly have recently passed two new pieces of legislation. The first being the Etiquette Law, which governs how representatives from all member regions approach each other and their duties in government forums, while the second deals with statements issued by the organisation. The latter will hopefully clear up any misunderstandings which have taken place in the past. If you would like more detail on either of these two pieces of legislation, please contact me and i will be happy to fill you in. The Regional Assembly is also debating a new application for membership from the region of Daxam, however since the vote is ongoing I can't say any more.
In other news, the last few weeks have been interesting it has to be said with regards to the FRA and NS in general. Firstly, the member region of New Sorvun unfortunately was raided and taken over. This has lead to a review of policy in regards to the safety of member regions and hopefully this will not happen again. This new policy was implemented when members of the Rangers, upon hearing of a possible attack upon a second member region, moved swiftly to prevent the region of Lichentia from falling into the wrong hands.
This last week has also seen the implementation of a second update within the game. This can be of huge benefit to both defenders and invaders as I’m sure you are all aware. Within due course i will be speaking to the Army Chief in order to discuss how best we can alter our doctrine in order to use the new update to our advantage.
The Rangers have however already tested the water with regards to the new Update time, with the liberation of Mandalore from Eagle Clan. This was the first such liberation to happen since the introduction of the new update and I am honoured that it was the Rangers who did it. All members who took part in that update should be proud of themselves indeed.
That is all for now, any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

From the office of the Arch Chancellor
Good day everyone.
Once again it is time to write a update for you all to read. These last two weeks have again been interesting and has seen a lot of work taking place behind the scenes. I am pleased to see that activity in all sections of the forum and organisation in general is up and I hope that this will continue to the end of my term and beyond.
On the Foreign Affairs front, things are moving along at a reasonable pace with outposts being recreated for The East Pacific and The Last Kingdom. This is in line with the FRA’s most recent policy change which states that Outposts can only be created should we have a working relationship of some sort with the region in question. There are plans afoot to open a few more Outposts, however they are very much at the preliminary stage.
The Independent and Regional Assembly are currently debating the recreation of the Regional Recruitment Cabinet position. The position was removed from the Charter of the FRA during the last term, however due to increased activity within the organisation and increased interest in the position, an amendment has been put forward requesting the reintroduction of the position. At the current time its duties fall under those of the Deputy Arch Chancellor.
In other Assembly news, the application of Daxam for membership into the alliance was defeated following concerns over security, while Karputsk, Sopo and Earthly Heaven are new representatives to the Regional Assembly following their election in their respective home regions.
Now onto Ranger and some important World Assembly news. The deputy Arch Chancellor Sedge has recently drafted, submitted and campaigned for a liberation proposal to free the region of Feudal Japan, of which was successful. Plans are now ongoing to liberate the region.
The second update has been used to great effect by the Rangers, which has allowed us to draw on more resources than ever before. The Rangers have, since my last report two weeks ago, taken part in 13 successful liberations and 16 successful non updater operations. This is a huge improvement compared to the start of the term when the Rangers were only going on a couple of missions a week.
In other Ranger news, Westminster and Europa companies have had their rosters changed to take advantage of the second update, and has so far been proved to be successful.
The Rangers have also reintroduced the use of the IRC channel in order to communicate liberations and defences easier than before during the update period.
That covers the last two weeks in the FRA. Once more, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time.

From the office of the Arch ChancellorGood day everyone, Once more it is time for a report on the recent goings on in the FRA. This will be the penultimate one by myself however as my term ends at the start of October. It has been my pleasure leading such a capable group of people, but I will go more into that in my last report of the term. My first point of contact in this report is Foreign Affairs. Throughout this term so far we have been implementing a new FA policy, which has thus far been very successful. We have recently opened four new embassies with regions we wish to work with on some level and while there are no plans to open any more, we won’t refuse to look at potential new additions in the future. On this same note, a new masking system has recently been implemented in the FRA. This has seen limitations being placed upon the original ‘members’ group, which has now been renamed ‘Validating’, and the creation of a ‘Diplomat’ and ‘Known Invader’ group. This is to allow greater security for our friends from other regions and potential new members. If you are on the FRA forums and do not believe you have the correct mask, post a request for a masking change in the relevant topics (member region and diplomat request thread respectively) and an admin will change it when they can. The Regional Assembly have been fairly busy as of late, with a number of votes and discussions taking place. The region of Daxam had their membership application defeated, while the application of New Liberalia is currently at vote. The RA has also passed the Charter amendment which has seen the recreation of the Regional Recruitment Officer post which was removed from the charter last term. Due to elections only being two weeks away, the position has been temporarily filled by Wopruthien. The most interesting debate currently on the floor is about converting the boards to Zetaboards. While most are in favour, a few issues have arisen, so its unlikely this issue will be solved before the next update. Halcyon has also been welcomed back into the Regional Assembly after being chosen by his home region to be their new regional representative in the Assembly. The FRA Rangers have once again been busy since the last update, taking part in 7 liberations and 6 non-updater actions. This is a slight decrease on the last report, but this is down to a number of Invaders being held up in Feudal Japan, and with the end of the summer break. I am very pleased with how well the Rangers have adapted to the second update. This has helped us to minimise the time a region is in invader hands. That sums up the last two weeks in the FRA. If you have any questions please visit the FRA forums and contact myself as I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. From the office of the Arch-ChancellorGood day everyone, I should start by saying that this shall be my final report, as elections are due to begin at the start of October and I shall not be running for a second term. This is down to a number of reasons, but none more so than the fact I am getting to the point in my life where the real world has to take priority over that of the NS world. It has been an honour and a privilege this term to work with the people in my cabinet, who I maintain are the best cabinet I have ever worked with. Now on to business; I shall first of all report on our Foreign Affairs activity. The FA sector has been fairly quiet compared to other months, with only one embassy being reopened with The West Pacific since the last update, however work behind the scenes to strengthen existing ties have been gathering pace and I am pleased to report that this has had a great effect upon mission planning and other, less tactical, areas. Following the recreation of the Regional Recruitment Officer Post last update, we have seen great progress made on enticing new members into the alliance. At last count 50 regions are being discussed and examined for possible membership. This is not to say that all 50 will be contacted however. Since the post was recreated we have seen an increase in new membership applications with The United Kingdom, The Royal Federation of Nations, Inner Mongolia and Union of Scaro Alliance requesting to join – The latter two applications has recently been taken to vote in the Regional Assembly and shall be informed of the decision at the start of the coming week. The Regional Assembly has again been quite quiet compared to previous weeks however there’s still news to report. New Liberalia’s membership application was rejected, while voting is currently taking place upon the membership applications of Inner Mongolia and Union of Scaro Alliance. The assembly has recently debated the small charter change of renaming the Deputy Arch-Chancellor position to that of Vice-Chancellor which has actually caused quite a stir, with other names being suggested such as Manbearchancellor and Executive Senior Vice Mini Deputy Arch Under-Chancellor receiving quite a bit of support. Once again the Rangers have been quite busy taking part in 7 updater missions and 5 non updater missions. This may be a slight drop compared to previous reports, however it should be noted that invaders have now adapted to the new update time and are actually providing a challenge. We do have a number of long term missions taking place at this current time as well, however due to their nature I cannot go into the details. That just about sums up the last two weeks in the FRA, and for this final time if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. FRA electionsFRA elections started for all Cabinet positions just moments ago. The schedule for elections is as follows: -3 days of nominations (held in the Independent Assembly) -3 days of campaigning (with manifestos posted here) -3 days of voting, by Regional Assembly representatives The following positions are up for election: Arch Chancellor - leader of the alliance Chief of Defence Force - runs the FRA Rangers, and has sole power over admittance to them Intelligence Minister - runs the FRA intel department Regional Recruitment Officer - a newly (re-)created position, the RRO is in charge of searching for, and contacting regions about FRA membership Speaker of the Assembly - must be a Regional Assembly rep, is responsible for moderating the Assembly, and organising votes At least 2 Cabinet members are stepping down, so now is a perfect opportunity to get involved. Appointed Deputy positions are also available, with the Chief of Defence Force usually appointing 2-3 deputies, and the Arch Chancellor obliged to appoint a Vice Chancellor, who takes charge of Foreign Affairs. If you're interested in a deputy position, you are advised to speak to the Cabinet members when they are elected. Please note that only members of FRA member regions are eligible for positions. If you're interested in participating, please visit out forums: http://z7.invisionfree.com/FRA

Special report from the Office of the Arch-Chancellor.Good day everyone, Following a recent high profile operation by the Rangers of the FRA I thought that it would be best to release a special report from my office detailing the events and actions taken by officials and Rangers of the FRA and its affiliated partners. The Region of Feudal Japan was liberated last night by a collation of defenders following 676 days of invader rule. This operation has been in the planning stages for over a month with every detail being studied meticulously before any plans were finalised and sent out to troops. This is a credit to the patience and will of all defenders and should prove, once and for all, that we will not give up on any region regardless of how long it has been under occupation. The FRA played a key role during this operation, from the creation and successful approval of the original liberation proposal to the planning and implementation of the liberation which saw 35 nations move into the region simultaneously in under one minute. This is of huge credit to the upper chain of command in the Rangers who managed to keep control of such a large force with relative ease. This operation however is far from over. There is a lot more work to do to allow the natives of Feudal Japan to live freely and safely once more but I can promise you that it will happen one day. A final note to all invaders; you laughed and declared a victory when the region was not liberated as soon as proposal 6 came into effect, you danced in the streets proclaiming your superiority and patted each other on the back to say a job well done. You dared to think that defenders would just sit back and forget about the region and would not be willing to wait till the time is right. Well I am glad to point out and say that yet again you were wrong. I will close with what I said at the end of the Belgium operation - No matter how secure you think you are, no matter what tactics you use, defenders will always find a way to break you down. From the office of the Arch-ChancellorGood day everyone, I'm writing this update as the newly elected Arch Chancellor of the FRA. We have just completed our latest round of elections, and now have a Cabinet to take us until the end of the year. The previous term was extremely succesful, and I hope that we can continue this success - if the previous term was about re-building, this new one is about continuity and fine-tuning. The Cabinet has seen a few changes, with Cocodian becoming Speaker of the Assembly, with Neasmyrna replacing him as Chief of Defence Force. Falconias and Wopruthien continue in their respective roles of Intelligence Minister and Regional Recruitment Officer. I have appointed two relative newcomers to the FRA as Vice Chancellors - Spartzerina of The Council of Narnia, and Docky of Inner Mongolia. They shall be running most of the FRA's foreign affairs, though I will be maintaining a presence around our embassies too. Since the last update, we have welcomed 4 new member regions to the FRA - Inner Mongolia, Royal Federation of Nations and The United Kingdom. Union of Scaro Alliance also joined the FRA - however, they resigned just days later after their founder decided to abandon the region. The other major change we've seen is the conversion of the forums from Invisionfree to Zetaboards. This change was decided upon because of the superiority of zetaboards forums, and although there were a few minor bugs in the conversion process, the results seem good. Although the forum appearance has changed, it is still similar to the original appearance - and I'd like to thank Defectivity and Kobold for their help with that. For those not familiar with the process of conversion, I'd like to assure them that all topic/posts/accounts are kept, and that the old forum urls still work. In other news, the Rangers have been busy cementing the liberation of Feudal Japan, which is now thankfully back in the hands of its native delegate. A repeal of the original 'Liberation Resolution' means that the region will soon be passworded, in order to aid re-founding by the natives. The Regional and Independent Assemblies have been busy recently, with the most recent change being the altering of the 'Deputy Arch Chancellor' position to 'Vice Chancellor'. That is a fairly good summary of the last couple of weeks, and you can look forward to another update in 2 weeks time. SedgeArch Chancellor of the Founderless Regions Alliance

From the office of the Arch-ChancellorGood day everyone, We've now had our first couple of weeks with the new Cabinet, and things seem to be going reasonably well. Forum activity has been incredibly high, partly due to our resident spammers, and we just broke our record for the most posts in a month. However, we have been up to some serious business too. The FRA Rangers have spent most of the month concentrating on a couple of regions which were under invader occupation - Sweden and Austria. We've also had several smaller-scale defences in region such as Southern Africa and Isle of Grun, and liberations of 4chan and Second Star to the Right. We've had several new members join the Rangers - membership is up 15% since the last count, so we'll be getting them trained up and active during this month. Our Foreign Affairs team has approved an embassy request from the International Security Initiative, a new multi-regional organisation which appears to have a lot of potential. We declined an embassy request from Leone, on the grounds that there was little chance of us working together. Ambassador postings have been finalised, so this update will be posted in our embassies by either Docky, Spartzerina or myself. The Regional Recruitment department has been working away steadily, and we are anticipating at least one application for FRA membership in the coming weeks. FRA Intelligence has made progress, with new agents recruited, and two new Deputy Intel Ministers gaining experience within the department. A brief update on Feudal Japan is that the region is now safely passworded, and the original invader delegate (Groznia) has CTEd. The natives are continuing with their plans to re-found. Thats all for the last couple of weeks, and there'll be another one of these updates in 2 weeks time. SedgeArch Chancellor of the Founderless Regions Alliance

thanks for the update, but there is really no one here any longer. I thought that the region might pick up a little, but that appears to not have been the case.
I think that I wil try to close the region down, or keep it alive with a puppet until CC decides to come back

Sorry to hear about your region's stint of inactivity. Here's an update for you.

From the Office of the Arch-Chancellor,Greetings, With a new term comes a new face. It is my honour to be appointed by the FRA Electorate as the new Arch-Chancellor. To begin this update, I would like to declare my aims for the coming months, so in three months' time you can all highlight what was not accomplished and ask for a refund. Nevertheless, I invest great faith in myself and the rest of my esteemed cabinet's ability to achieve these ambitious but immediate goals. My immediate aims are the following, I.We shall expand the FRA Rangers Outfit and inspire some much needed interest in defending with Open Defending Clinics during this month. These sessions will be open to all to attend, although they will be carefully orchestrated as to not share any of the FRA's more secretive methods. Potential new defenders will experience defending practice scenarios first hand, and hopefully consider joining the FRA Rangers, or at the very least, keep a fresh and open mind to military gameplay. Details will be provided to member regions as the event is organized. II.We will clarify, reconstruct and perhaps codify a working doctrine of defender principles that will guide the FRA Rangers for the future. In particular, rogue and illegitimate delegates in feeder communities will be discussed. The Regional Assembly (RA) may be approached with proposed legislation that emerges from this discourse -- as always, ambassadors will be informed as details emerge. III.We shall refocus the FRA as a military organization. More specifically, I intend to push for a legislative effort to grant FRA Ranger suffrage in our Assembly. It is my belief -- and I hope the electorate shares it -- that all those who defend regional sovereignty under the FRA banner deserve political enfranchisement for their services. Once again, ambassadors will be informed as details emerge on said proposal, one proposal from my cabinet has been to establish a bicameral system in the Regional Assembly to ensure representatives and rangers have an equal voting weight in matters of importance. I am also overjoyed to recognize the rest of my cabinet as a strong and very capable administration to serve our Alliance. I have appointed Lemmingtopias and Spartzerina as my Vice-Chancellors, who, I know, will perform admirably in their respective positions. I also will introduce the new Chief of Defense, Frattastan, the new Intelligence Minister, Numero Capitan, the current Regional Recruitment officer, Wibblefeet and finally, Silver as the Regional Assembly's new speaker. Some of you may have the pleasure of working with them in the coming months, so .. be nice! My Intelligence Minister, Numero Capitan, will be pushing for his department to become a resource for the benefit of all member regions and not just a tool of the organisation itself. Often our intelligence activity's have focused on gaining intelligence for the Rangers and disrupting invader activity. Whilst there is nothing wrong with these practices and they have served a vital purpose in freeing regions from the clutches of imperialists, we need to evolve and take a member region focused approach. If you have any suggestions for how this can be achieved then please do contact myself or Numero Capitan, who hopes to stop by your region shortly (if he's not already there!) In the coming months, I also have some term-long goals in addition to my immediate goals. I expect this term to be recruitment-intensive, because I feel it is time for the FRA to expand and reach out to communities that we would have otherwise have ignored -- my Regional Recruitment officer is highly supportive of these ideas and is already putting the vision into action. He has appointed my predecessor, Wopruthien as Deputy RRO, who has some innovative ideas for our expansion project. Additionally, we will continue the very successful model for interregional communication that my predecessor, Wopruthien employed with unprecedented success during his term for updates and elections. We will improve upon this model by extending it actively to the official NationStates forum. My Chief of Defence is emphasizing the need for greater presence and contact in member regions, even with military affairs and I think this closely aligns with my own goal to refocus the FRA as a military organization. In addition to these aims, my Chief of Defence and I intend to approach other existing defender organizations with the intent of some reconciliation or at the very least establishing some sort of cooperation on matters that we do agree upon. Toleration of our different methods and ethical convictions will be emphasised. We hope that our differences can in the future not hinder our defense of founderless regions' wellbeing and security. Thank you for reading. UnibotArch-Chancellor of the Founderless Regions Alliance
