His lips trembled as he exhaled the smoke from his pipe. Many months had passed since he had even thought of bringing someone into his home. It was too precious to allow any chance of damage from some idiot that just wanted to have some fun. He thought about the reactions of others when they saw the beauty of his world, though. The way the wind carried the petals in the spring down to the brook in the overgrowth of the forest. The sun would set a gold glow over the plants and animals. Birds would sing a perfect harmony, surrounding you with magic and joy. The way the ocean calmed your nerves for every crashing wave and sound of a gull flying overhead. Salty water would spray through the air, refreshing you of all of your troubles. The fairies were his favorite. They would giggle in the summer heat, looking for trouble. Granting wishes of young lovers and causing others like him to fall asleep, dreaming of the world they were already in. Things that you could never imagine would be there. It was his haven. He wouldn’t give it up for anything. The stacks of paper he found himself by called to him. Dipping his quill into the sea of darkness, he began to write out an invitation: Greetings foreigner. You have no idea what love really is; what it is to feel happy. You have many problems; some you don’t know of. I can help you relieve you of these problems. Just accept this invitation to peace and tranquility. The path you choose here sets the rest of your life in a new direction. Enjoy the beautiful world of Kacey. Thank you, Zachary, Andrew, Matthew, Alexander, and Nicholas Writing out his brothers’ names was always a blessing to him. They had helped him build this perfect world. Andrew built the larger cities found throughout the globe. He knew how to work with machinery and how to continuously improve life and make it easier. Matthew built the simple, hot grasslands where creatures ran in prides and packs. The sight of these rolling hills and desserts were breathtaking. Alexander built the water cities that brought harmony to any angry soul. He was the artistic one. Nicholas, the youngest, built the cold highlands that were drowning in snow most of the seasons. He was Zachary, the proud creator of the port cities and large library. He made sure there were enough resources in his area to cause the city to be flourishing with many wealthy people. The library held many books written by him and a few others. There was something special about that place, but even he, the creator, didn’t know what it was. Rewriting his letter thousands of times, he pulled one out, addressing it to a kid named Kyle. He was recently dealing with his parent’s divorce. Maybe this world could get the kid’s mind straight and refreshed so that he could go home with a new sane mind. He would experiment this technique and see if it would work for any others. Very simple. He folded the letter in half and placed it in the black book with the kid’s name on the front. Standing up, he shelved the book back where it belonged. He was surprised how easy it was to send letters to those in other worlds. However, he would figure everything else that made this world magical in time. |
