How your candle burns can give you clues about how well your spell is working. These are somethings to look for when practicing candle magick. A candle in a glass candle holder that produces no smoke and leaves no marks on the glass is a good sign that your spell is working well. A candle that gives off a lot of smoke at first but burns cleanly towards the end suggests hidden trouble. Things may go bad at first, but you can succed if you perservere. A free-standing candle not encased in a candle holder that leaves no residue behind is a good sign. If a candle burns quickly and cleanly, the spell should succeed and you will most likely get what you wished for. If your candle leaves dirty, sooty marks on its glass holder, this can indicate problems with your spell. Perhaps the person you're casting the spell for is in more trouble than you thought. A slow burning candle means that you need to have patience. Perhaps you're not yet ready for the thing you're wishing for. If a candle melts more quickly than expected, it might mean that your wish could come true but not for very long. For example, your new lover may not be for life.
