USS Iowa, one of the ships seized. A Spokesmen for the Royal Navy announced today that a great raid had been done on America. The Entire American Pacific Fleet was on exercises until it was seized a few days ago. Japan and Britain declared war on America. It seems as if the Iowa and South Dakota Classes of Battleships, and the Yorktown and Essex classes of aircraft carriers are to go to Britain. Japan got the Independence class carriers and the remaining cruisers and destroyers. Britain also announced that the G3 and N3 class battleships, which many believed to have been canceled, were nearing completion. They had been being built in Spitsbergen, with Norwegian approval. This comes after the German carrier Graf Zeppelin and the battleship Bismarck were captured by Britain. What this means has yet to be found out. |
