Does video game violence make the youth violent?

Hello,

I want you guys to give me your opinion on the topic. I'm writing a 10 page research paper on the topic and critics are saying that violent video games are causing school shootings and kids to get desensitized by the violence. For example the Colombine High school shooting that killed 13 people. The 2 boys played the game Doom and other games and some people blame that for the killings. And also the Sandy Hook. The boy also played violent video games...
Did the video games cause that or was something just wrong with them?
What evidence do you have that games are actually good for you?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
